Thank you RacerX for not bashing the V6. I got the SXT Plus cause it's what I could afford at the time. I am planning on stepping up next year, but I don't regret what I bought.
Me too. I got a 2018 sxt plus fully loaded with full leather. You can't even price and build my car on dodge. It won't let you get all the options. I want a scatpack but I hate to give up my unique car. Lol 😆

I recently purchased a 2018 Challenger GT and an pretty happy with how it rides and performs as a daily driver. I am aware that it is not a high performance car, nor will I use it to try and be fast, but mods should be installed to what makes people happy. If you enjoy it stock, great. If you want to supercharge it and take it to the race track, awesome! I installed a CAI and want to install an exhaust because it will put a smile on my face. Life is too short to care honestly.
We traded our 19 challenger GT for a 20 Challenger Scat.... I will say I love our Scat, but I do miss the GT. It was a great overall daily driver. It was a White Knuckle with the Black top package. Turned a lot heads. I just wanted the power.... but I would never put down the GT. It got me into the Challenger....I didnt try to be fast in it. I just liked being in it.
I absolutely LOVE my GT, I have a long commute with tons of highway patrol, so gas savings/ initial cost / and insurance is lower getting a V6. It’s a SPICY SXT ... rt looks , with improved suspension and a sprinkle of POWER over the SXT... 30 MPG highway is a no brainer for a daily.
Yes, the GT is worth it. Personally, I wouldn't even look at a V6 Charger. However, Dodge sells more of them than any of the HEMI V8 models. I used to sell at a CDJR dealership in Jersey. The V6 Chargers flew off the lot, and for good reason, I will admit. Great video man. Lots of quality content, yet again. 🔥🔥🔥 #MoparOrNoCar 🔥🔥🔥
People prefer the V8, but because of the high prices of new cars they end up either buying a more priced friendly V6 or a used V8 in the price range of a new V6.
I think the gt is worth it but if it's the awd version. People talk about the muscle car heritage and that its gotta be a v8 but I honestly feel that point holds true to the challenger more. The challenger's whole concept is to remind you of the past. Yes some elements of the charger does that as well but at the end of the day it's a 4 door sedan. I think some people are just still fans of big family sedans which there are so few of in a SUV dominated world. In additional some people live where there is winter where the use of AWD helps. Going back point of the video the GT is the better optioned v6 model if you dont want bare bones. If you dont care about AWD then I agree that the R/T would probably be best value.
@@basedshaman6183 I have a v6 charger and ik my limits for this car. I don't go around saying how fast it is because it's not fast, it's QUICK for what it is but it's not fast. They both have a 6.2 0-60 but the charger has a higher trap speed and time in the quarter mile. Honestly I personally think there is no excuse for a brz being that slow for weighing a whole 1000 pounds less than a family sedan. There are cars faster than brz in the same category for the same price.

RacerX just some info from the 303 street scene. 300 hp not too good for racing but u bought a 310hp LGBT Subie for a daily that gets nearly the same mpg as a Hellcat. Known for high school punks owning the slowest brand (Subie roo) and racing everyone. I don’t mean to be rude at all but that is exactly the definition of what you bought and no one drives those here because of that reason. When did everyone’s pride go out the window... I had two friends that were LGBT and went to the Subaru sponsored events, I have no problem with those people but why would you want that image
Here is Boston the number one Challenger appears to be the GT awd. It is a very unique car and one that people can actually daily drive all year up here in the North. Every winter during the first snowfall we always see people new to the city in their 2wd performance cars with summer tires spinning their wheels sideways on the roads.
If your buying for fuel efficiency (hence buying a v6 in most cases), the SXT. AWD makes a huge difference in fuel consumption. Don't care what anyone says. AWD are pigs compared to RWD or FWD with the same engine/transmission setup.
Yes, AWD is not nearly as efficient or light. Racers know this. Poor sales is probably the reason Dodge discontinued the V8 awd Charger and never offered V8 awd in the Challenger.
I have the 2018 GT in destroyer grey. Turns head because of the color and looks decent. But wishing I would’ve went straight for the RT. Definitely saved some money tho and now I know I really like the Charger. Gonna get an RT in a few months
Perfect example of why the GT exist. You test the waters and if you like it, upgrade to the v8. If you wanna keep it you can, nothing wrong with that. Both great cars in their own way
I used to drive a 2019 challenger GT. It was a great car to get around, fuel economy was great, also turned heads and got compliments. But eventually you're going to want more power and sound. So i upgraded to the RT 👍🏻 Has plenty of power and fuel economy isn't bad at all! Very happy with it!
@@yeahhhdro64 Its really not bad at all. Of course it depends on your driving habits. R/T is my daily and Im mostly on the highway. So im on 18mpg. On the streets its a little different, you'll burn fuel but not super crazy. And I fill up every 5 days. Over all fuel economy is really good for a 5.7 V8.
@@davidrodriguez3008 okay thank you for that, i’m currently deciding between a GT and RT. And fuel economy/MPG was a big factor for me. Obviously the GT has a better MPG because it’s a V6 but I kindaaaa want the RT because it’s a V8 😂 and i like how it sounds.
S. Baker yeah I don’t have a huge budget and have a 2012 Dodge Charger SE. It’s nice not having to worry about mpg with the v6. And yeah it isn’t as fast as the v8s but it’s still faster than the normal daily
I wish Dodge had a V8 AWD option. Living in NYC where the AWD would be awesome during winter season. Only reason I would even think of getting a GT over a scat pack.
I drove my 2012 V6 Charger SXT-Plus for 7 years. It was a great reliable daily family car. If it had the AWD, I would have kept it for the winters where I live. I have to admit, despite the peppy and enthusiastic V6, I was beginning to crave the raw power of a V8. Have you watched all those videos of guys driving the V8's and grinning ear to ear? I wanted that experience. Eventually, I caved in to temptation and ordered my '19 RT Scat Pack 392 widebody Challenger. I've had it a year and I just adore it. I'll never go back to a V6. But I will admit, in the winter months, all that extra power gets you nowhere fast. The V6 handles bad weather conditions better in my experience and the AWD would really compliment that to great advantage.
Do you guys get pretty bad winter weather? I live in an area with pretty bad winters but like the higher end chargers. However, due to the previously mentioned winters, I was wondering how much or little trouble you had in the winter.
I have the Challenger GT RWD fully loaded minus sunroof and I love the thing. All the power I need looks good and I average 16MPG 😆 (I know I should be getting better MPG.. sport mode all day)
I've rented a few V6 sedans (Impala, Camry and Maxima) from airports in the last year. The GT was the best looking and also the slowest, albeit by the slimmest of margins.
I had a 2018 awd charger gt and it sucked in straight line races but in autocross events is when I noticed it performed well. Being able to throw the car through a turn without zero care in the world it definitely makes you smile. It won't be the same as driving a v8 but its still a fun car and if you mod it right it'll turn heads just as quick as a hemi.
I have a supercharged GT AWD Challenger, driving it in the snow out here in Minnesota I have no worries it's a unique build that u won't see a lot. I do have to say only in bad weather states would the gt be worth it.
I'm glad I saw this video because I'm literally yesterday me and my wife what's behind a Charger RT and I was like that's fake but then I came to the conclusion after he took off and didn't have the V8 Rumble that it must be a V6 with the RT package and I was right now I can show this video to my wife to act like I really know something LOL great video thanks
@@RickNetherydindt help braking or stearing at all, so you might be able to start moving but you would crash later on. winter tires are far more important than awd
El Juego most v6 buyers just want it for the look though. They probably don’t care about the hp too much so why not drop another 2k and make it look that much better
A LOT of people are telling me that If I want a charger, get it V8. I'm trying to get different opinions from the GT and the R/T. The newer models have definitely caught my attention over the older styles (2015^).
Who cares if the GTs a v6 or a V8 for the purpose it’s most definetly worth it. I’m not the oldest guy around but I remember growing up 300HP was alright The GT is a little north of that and just because it’s a v6 it’s being bashed ?! If u a real “muscle car” v8 Race head u can’t knock this car because it will make more sense to have something like this to drive to and from work and have the V8 for the the thrill of performance and fun.
I have a 2019 SXT Charger I could’ve of got a GT but wasn’t thinking about that trim forgot about it for a moment or I could’ve got a R/T but I thought about sticking with the 3.6L for a bit had a Honda Civic before later I’m going to swap the engine to a 5.7L and switch parts to where it would look like a V8 maybe a 6.4L
I thank the people that buy these “standard” cars which in turn helps Dodge turn out the higher trim level cars at a great price point. The GT looks so much better than the SXT and for 2k, I think it’s a no brainer.
If I understand correctly, both Chargers - the SXT and GT can be ordered with AWD. So some people see in this great safety feature and will prefer SXT AWD over GT RWD and also GT AWD over R/T. Exterior of '15 and later SXT is really plain...
Also remember something very important the GT does produce 300 horsepower most cars don’t hit that power bro. In the GT you feel the weight and the power it’s a nice beginner for if you want a classic Muscle Car that’s a daily driver as well.
Would this be the best car for me if I want a quiet car that doesn’t have that loud roaring noise but it looks something like a scat pack or a hell cat
Thanks for reppin the GT in a video... we all can’t be ballin in a Scat Pack or Hellcat unfortunately. Bright side of having the GT is while all the Hemi’s are at the gas station filling up, I’m still out there rollin 😂🤷🏻♂️
Isn't the real advantage of the GT is that it is AWD? I may have missed it but didn't hear that important element described. Correct me if I'm wrong that all Challenger/Charger GTs are AWD.

You can tell the difference by the yellow protectors on the front bumper. My brother just got a 2021 Charger GT, it’s nice. Plus AWD, much better for winters where we live. If you wanna go base V8 I think there are many better cars to choose from- at the very least you need a Scat pack to make the charger in V8 worth while, imo. (Still aesthetically one of my fav front and rear light systems on any car)
I just got a 2020 SXT Plus AWD in the new Frostbite color. I went with the SXT for one reason only - I much prefer the Nappa Leather seats to the Alcantara in the GT.
I own a Challenger RT but rented a Challenger SXT plus. Really surprised how much i liked it. 30mpg on a 190mi highway trip…18-22 around town. I may buy a GT for my year-round/winter vehicle

I’ve been waiting months for this video!
Both great cars in their own way
That’s the best color for there is for these cars IMO. Almost got one was so close to getting it lol
if I were looking for a sedan, this would be at the top of my list for sure
I used to drive a 2019 challenger GT. It was a great car to get around, fuel economy was great, also turned heads and got compliments. But eventually you're going to want more power and sound. So i upgraded to the RT 👍🏻 Has plenty of power and fuel economy isn't bad at all! Very happy with it!
David Rodriguez .. nice 👍.. yes moving to the RT is a nice change
Us Canadians only have the AWD GT as an option it seems unless you wanna look at your beast 8 months a year.
how is the fuel economy in the RT?
I got a gt this week an absolutely love it black on black just a gorgeous car
I couldn’t drive any v6 trim level of a muscle car it just feels like it defeats the purpose.
I swear💯
I think it just depends on your budget and what your comfortable with
I don't even consider 6 bangers muscle cars, and only looks like they have teeth to bite with
I am enjoying my AWD Challenger as a daily driver.
Good winter tires on 18" will improve the experience with V8 RWD Charger in the snowy winter in north of US or south of Ontario.
In a world of stop lights, this gets from each one just fine.
Damn that dealer loves silver and white chargers huh 😂😂
Police are their top customers so why not cater to them. White, silver and black
I just got my black on black GT today. I love it !
I kinda cheated when seeing the two front ends. RT was most likey gonna be the one with the bumper guards. That was a guess maybe a lucky one lol
Nah that’s just obvious, i knew Simply just because of that
I have the Challenger GT RWD fully loaded minus sunroof and I love the thing. All the power I need looks good and I average 16MPG 😆 (I know I should be getting better MPG.. sport mode all day)
Geesh! My 392 gets better than than in the city when I'm getting into it. It easily gets 20+ highway.
The Chally has too much weight to be economical with that V6 engine which is why it’s a waste of time over the Charger.
I've rented a few V6 sedans (Impala, Camry and Maxima) from airports in the last year. The GT was the best looking and also the slowest, albeit by the slimmest of margins.
Joe Albert .. but it was probably also the roomiest 👍
@@RacerX9 It sure was. Enjoyed it the most too.
Those 3.6 pentastar engines are demon killers with a big single turbo
The All wheel drive option is the major selling point for these
I would like to see if there a custom high performance camshafts for the pentastar 3.6L engine
Am Ja .. I am unaware of what cam options are out there for the 3.6 .. definitely more research needed there 👍
Prodigy performance twin turbo, or ripp supercharger!
@@RacerX9 still there are no performance camshafts for the pentastar 3.6L
@@tomfletcher3817 i know them but they the prices is high and an N/A pentastar 3.6L will be good
Nice thing about the GT is that it has a few options for interior colours. Only can get all black for the SXT.
You should try driving that one with a ripp supercharger in it. Might change your mind on the speed part
I have a supercharged GT AWD Challenger, driving it in the snow out here in Minnesota I have no worries it's a unique build that u won't see a lot. I do have to say only in bad weather states would the gt be worth it.
Nice!! What cars have you embarrassed?
My first charger was a V6 police charger with all upgraded components. It can't beat the Hemi but it can still keep up with it
I'm glad I saw this video because I'm literally yesterday me and my wife what's behind a Charger RT and I was like that's fake but then I came to the conclusion after he took off and didn't have the V8 Rumble that it must be a V6 with the RT package and I was right now I can show this video to my wife to act like I really know something LOL great video thanks
You missed the fact that the GT also has some performance pages with paddle shifters and launch control.
Thanks for doing this
I have always thought that the all wheel drive GT would be a good choice for people who live in areas where roads freeze in the winter.
sure and still using regular tires because "i dont need winter tires because i had awd!1!1!" lol
@@Tonyx.yt. Are you trying to insist that awd Is of no benefit on frozen roads ?
@@RickNetherydindt help braking or stearing at all, so you might be able to start moving but you would crash later on. winter tires are far more important than awd
@@Tonyx.yt. If I lived in an area that freezes I would put the proper tires on my vehicle.
Excellent info, right to the point. Thank you.
The GT also comes with Super Track Pack. And performance pages.
What is that
🤣🤣🤣

Bro that green is beautiful!!
I bought a new V6 charger and immediately regretted it. I traded it in for a new scatpack a year later lol
You made a good decision.
Silver N Black Mopar because the v6 is embarrassing to drive.

Proud ‘19 Charger GT owner i bought from this dealership on same release year. This dealership is in Irving btw, not Arlington
GT would be my choice over the SXT for sure! The appearance is a lot better...got to have a hood scoop!!
TODDSNAKE .. I agree.. it’s worth the 2k
Not when it has the same specs and does nothing for it...
El Juego most v6 buyers just want it for the look though. They probably don’t care about the hp too much so why not drop another 2k and make it look that much better
@@devind3101 I dunno, mine looks pretty damn good and I got it for 22k....
Great video X!!
I beat rts in my gt all the time, and 5.7l trucks! Will be getting a scatpack or hellcat sometime next year but until then, im gone enjoy my v6
I have a 394 Stroker in my Ram, let’s dance🤣
yea your lyin😂
A LOT of people are telling me that If I want a charger, get it V8. I'm trying to get different opinions from the GT and the R/T.
The newer models have definitely caught my attention over the older styles (2015^).
Had a GT trade it in for the RT/ GT definitely worth the money though💯if u trying to decide over the SXT the GT is the way to go
I just traded in a sxt plus for a 2020 gt i love the gt more
In 24 and got an 2015 SXT challenger that I love. Mod it up for a few more gains and get the scatpack in 2-3 years. Part of the fun!
I just bought the 2021 Dodge Charger GT and I love the look.
How’s it holding up? I’m shopping for one before they go away.
I have a 2019 sxt n I love it but I want more power so should i make it a sleeper or upgrade to a scat pack
It would be easier to go to a Scat Pack for “more power baby”, but Scats are not boost friendly.
Racer x where is the charger angel
Well I brought a 2020 sxt charger and love it. I travel 100 miles a day for work so the sxt was a no brainer.
Me too brother, most of these v8 lovers dont even have cars
Very well put vid been looking for a comparison between the GT and RT thanks
Until dodge reintroduces the RT in AWD I’ll keep my 18 GT here in Michigan.
Yea me to
My wife got 22 GT with Hemi orange pacage. Its awesome with same suspension and breaks as Scat.well worth as my insurance rates was way lower !!!
I thought the GT came with all wheel drive
It’s optional
It’s 3k to get the AWD version .. for some reason those are impossible to find here
Thank you! Comparing a 2014 Mustang V6 Vs the Charger SXT most likely a 2015/16
GT then slap on a Ripp supercharger and shock RT owners.
The rt can’t handle boost it will blow up the six can actually handle boost better
@@thomasedwards9839 yeah if you dont forge or upgrade injectors and have no long tube headers nor a tune. You can whipple and procharge them all day
If you’re gonna add the Rip Supercharger on a v6 might as well buy an rt lol
Mike Gee. Or do what I did, 4door 4X4 Ram 1500 with 394 Stroker and Jay Green Cam, walk all over everything🤣
If I understand correctly, both Chargers - the SXT and GT can be ordered with AWD. So some people see in this great safety feature and will prefer SXT AWD over GT RWD and also GT AWD over R/T. Exterior of '15 and later SXT is really plain...
People forgetting the 2018 GT is the ONLY AWD charger. Some of us want to drive in the snow and look good :)
I have a 2017 sxt rallye pack awd.
Purchased a 2021 GT Grey on black. Just needs straight pipes and ill be in business. But it certainly turns heads
A V6 with a SRT face....just saying. Still nice though
Also remember something very important the GT does produce 300 horsepower most cars don’t hit that power bro. In the GT you feel the weight and the power it’s a nice beginner for if you want a classic Muscle Car that’s a daily driver as well.
So dodge saved time for v6 ricers who swapped hellcat bumpers, hood on their v6’s 😂, nice video man
Viages 7693 .. thank you my friend
Why hate?
*RT. My 20 Hellcat is widebody as are all new ones. Looks quite different.
Would this be the best car for me if I want a quiet car that doesn’t have that loud roaring noise but it looks something like a scat pack or a hell cat
Hahaha so many haters here 😂😂
Thanks for reppin the GT in a video... we all can’t be ballin in a Scat Pack or Hellcat unfortunately.

Not all of them. I have one rwd.
