Anyone can get a retired charger but the fact they left it fully equipped is very rare, be careful some states don’t even allow you to drive on roadways if you have that equipment on the car.
I think that salesman might have got you with one of his tactics. Wonder how many people he got with the old "this is the only one youre ever going to find" lol
I had the exact same thinking when I bought my rebuilt 2019 (crashed into the side) hemi awd. It only had 1700 idle hours and 60k miles so I had to grab it as this will be my first and last charger as they don't make them (in a hemi) anymore! I will be getting it rusty by driving on the salt covered roads, but I will wash it as much as I can to see how long I can keep it for. Mine is also stripped down and civilianized, running some 18" aftermarket wheels.
No permit required. Civilians can get them once retired by agency or if police officer buys for personal use then decides to sell. I gotten two low miles pursuits with rare street appearance package.
Awesome! I have 2015 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan with 3.7L AWD. Its amazing car. I almost went for Charger but went for FPIS instead. It was cheaper and I could afford that time. Right now I probably should have got the Charger but reliability is better with FPIS. Also FPIS is around 1000 lbs heavier than Charger.
Great video I own a Ford, Taurus, AWD, twinturbo on E-85 and it’s a blast to drive.. definitely best daily drivers I can say are definitely police cars!
Looks like you got a good one. I'd remove that overhead light pronto. I have a V6 AWD (not police). I think Chargers are underrated in that mode. On the other hand, they were not the best police cars. 'Smoke and Mirrors"
The 5.7 Hemi and AWD should have stayed. Think they had issues with the new 8speed and AWD but I would have been fine with the face lift abd keep the 5speed and 5.7. In Wisconsin, IL, IN, OH,MN, IA And up in Canada the AWD lets u have 1 car instead of the Hemi and finding a winter beater
Are you going to remove all the extra wiring and harnesses that were put in there for the computers and such? I'm thinking about getting a Charger Pursuit as well.
Do they upgrade the suspension, drivetrain, and the body strength like the Crown Vic? (IIRC, Crown Vic have the P71 package, and somehow the chassis is stronger than the regular one) Do the charger have the same feature? thanks
I bought a 2019 Charger 75k miles Hemi AWD Pursuit last year (~20k) on halloween and drove around with that red dome light on just to look cool...:LOL! Hey, I have a question. Did these cars with the 5.7 AWD ever have the MDS system? I had a MDS in a 14 5.7 Hemi Challenger and it seemed to work good, about 25 MPG when driving normally. This 19 Charger gets around 18 MPG with the AWD...
pretty sure most police vehicles are not sold with any special permit saying that they cant be resold to civilians. if they did, there wouldn't be a plethora of decommissioning police crown victorias, FPIS, FPIU and chevy tahoes all over auction sites all across the internet
I have 4 of them from Houston Texas need one I might be able to help drive it normal people will alway let you pass just don’t be speeding and have all your stuff together no warrant no traffic violations police will definitely take it from you
I don’t think you should de driving that car around with all that equipment on it in the wrong place and wrong time you’re driving trouble it would be a nightmare and try and pull up for a date or a casual outing with it trust me you will learn something new every other day 😂
You are not required to have a permit to buy one of these. do cops and ex cops like to buy them? yes. thats usually why dealerships ask. Anyone or their grandma can buy one used you do not need a permit. Willing to bet you didn't check the engine hours on this before buying it. You can absolutely still buy a 2023 dodge charger with a V8 right now, the V8 was not discontinued. Check your facts before stating them perhaps.
It was shipped that way due to it being diactivated. The computer/ its real name the brain, is missing. Thouse are REALLY expensive and requires programming. Outfitters partnerd with whelen or federal signal (the maker of your lightbar is federal signal, and the other lights around are whelen) are very unlikely to give you and program one for you.
Also the pursuit chargers, 2020 was the last year you could get the pursuit in AWD with the V8 5 speed, 21,22,23 switched to either a V6 AWD or a V8 RWD with an 8 speed, they are now officially discontinued in 2024.
You have no idea what you are talking about. That little black box in the trunk equipment tray is what controls every light on that thing except the ones on the roof. Since his PA works, all those lights work. He's just not saying it so people like you don't say dumb things like you have said.
Anyone can get a retired charger but the fact they left it fully equipped is very rare, be careful some states don’t even allow you to drive on roadways if you have that equipment on the car.
Most people don’t realize that this is the ONLY way you can get an AWD v8 charger. (Police model)
Still a fat 4500lbs
It's not the only way, but it's the only way you can get one with the facelift. They offered an AWD R/T in the 2011-14 models.
I think that salesman might have got you with one of his tactics. Wonder how many people he got with the old "this is the only one youre ever going to find" lol
Bought a 2015 Pursuit AWD 5.7 Hemi this spring. Fun to drive for sure.
For sure!
How much u get your for??

Love to hear it!
Awesome, are you going to remove the extra wiring that the police used for their equipment or is that just a headache not worth getting into?
Just got one yesterday with 51k miles on it 🎉
thats low miles! congrats!
No permit required. Civilians can get them once retired by agency or if police officer buys for personal use then decides to sell. I gotten two low miles pursuits with rare street appearance package.
I recently purchased a 2016 pursuit that i made my youtube channel with. Tbh no matter what ill forever have one

That’s a federal signal valor lightbar if you wanted to sell it you can probably get 1-2 grand out of it
Stay tuned for my next video, I will be talking about a police interaction I had where their department offered to buy the light bar from me!
Had mine for 2 years love it just done straight pipe
I would take off that light bar quick.
Best comment in the thread
The red interior light is actually so they can see outside because it doesn’t reflect and give a glare off like a standard dome light
Getting the car with the Federal Valor lights is definitely a bonus.
Great video I own a Ford, Taurus, AWD, twinturbo on E-85 and it’s a blast to drive.. definitely best daily drivers I can say are definitely police cars!
FYI Dodge didn't put the crash bar or the other police accessories on the charger and the police equipment should have been removed before it was sold
looks awesome, id leave it how it looks.
I ve been wanting to get one of these w the 5.7 and awd saving up rn
I would love that dodge pursuit
I’m sure you know this but 2019s have a transferable warranty until November on the power train unless it’s over 100k miles
Sounds like your engine is having a lifter (hemi) tick
No, that's normal. The Pursuits have HD lifters
That's just the fuel injection system
Got the good ole hemi tick
Looks like you got a good one. I'd remove that overhead light pronto. I have a V6 AWD (not police). I think Chargers are underrated in that mode. On the other hand, they were not the best police cars.
'Smoke and Mirrors"
Can you transmission swap to the 8 speed on the other v8 chargers

I love it. Never heard of one of these😂
when you're just cruising down the road do people tend to get out of your way?
Highway’s: Hell yeah they do.
city roads: people just slow down and drive more safe around you!
I don't drive the car a whole lot, but from my experience, they definitely do. Gets quite funny when the left lane always opens up for you!
I want one with a procharger 😅
You said nothing about the secure button behind the steering wheel on the right
Are you going to remove all the extra wiring and harnesses that were put in there for the computers and such? I'm thinking about getting a Charger Pursuit as well.
I loved this. I should have bought this for my wife instead of the 2024 Kona Trend. 😅
No permit ever needed, you can get one used with no problem.
No permit is needed once it is sold used. New it has to be sold to a public safety or government agency
i just picked one up. its fun
How much u get it for ??

(IIRC, Crown Vic have the P71 package, and somehow the chassis is stronger than the regular one) Do the charger have the same feature?
thanks
Yes they do. Transmission, alternator, suspension, breaks, and engine cooling are different from RT models in the pursuit varient.
Do these have lifter issues? Heard it was common. Would love to have one either way!
I haven't had any issues yet. Just make sure to change the oil on time.
@@Vitalewastaken Good deal, Thank you!
I want one so bad
Dang no spare tire!?
how is your nd miata? how is the turbo? and transmission updates?
New videos coming soon!
I want one in black

Yes, it’s got MDS
Now put some ASP stickers on it 😂
Can this beat a gtr?
Is it possible to get an eight speed into it?

I have the same car but 2013 it’s a sleeper
I don’t think you should de driving that car around with all that equipment on it in the wrong place and wrong time you’re driving trouble it would be a nightmare and try and pull up for a date or a casual outing with it trust me you will learn something new every other day 😂
Discontinued 2023* brother.

🤓
You cant buy a v8 AWD
He did check his facts dude 😑
V8 last year is 2023
So yes it’s being discontinued
yea its being discontinued after 2023 as in 2024. not 2020 or 2021 like he said@@sothisis1962

@@drwheycooler8423 your unaware how that car is set up.
Wide body it
😂😂
ford taurus sho, go buy it now
I thought the exact same thing. Turn it off turn it off! It needs oil, it needs fucking oil!😅
There aren't any unobtainable police vehicles lol.
With the known lifter problems? No thanks. Those cams are cooked. Infiniti has plenty of v8 awd with almost if not 400hp
isnt that illegal?
The light bar and any red and blue lights are illegal but thats it
You paid 20k? No thanks
It's really nice but needs to growl
Police are civilians!
Supercharge it
Absolutely
You drive that car in Virginia you are going to get arrested and your car impounded.
😂
Nope.
The sales person is bullshittng. You don't need a permit to buy them you played $20,000 for a old cop car you could done way better come on
