Fontaine's archon quest by far was the best narrative i've ever seen in Genshin. And it's also the most emotional that it literally made me ball my eyes out so much at the end. Not to mention the OSTs being unimaginably good. Focalors and Furina might be one if not the most well written character in the game post Archon Quest. I knew when I fell in love with Furina even before she made her appearance in the game she'd be by far my most favourite character, and after the AQ, she definitely became that character, and by an absolute long shot.
What makes me sad about all of this is, Furina saved the Whole nation with her performance and at the end she didn't even receive a "thanks". the only one who thanked her was none other than her own self (Focalors). no one deserved Furina she's the greatest :")
i think paimon, the traveler and neuvillete also must've thanked her. But yeah its still very sad the people of Fontaine, the reason why she was determined to save fontaine, are still on edge with her/hate her, cuz they know nothing of her sacrifice.
Rukkhadevata also never got a thanks for sacrificing herself to save her people and the only one who can thank her would be Traveler This is just the fate of being a true hero
Not just her, Focalors, Rukkhadevata and Makoto all died without their people knowing they even exist. The Fontaine thought that Focalors is Furina, the Irminsul erase Rukkhadevata, and Ei was considered as Baal all this time.
The only cutscene that almost made me cry even Rukkhadevata's farewell didn't enough to make me this sad, I also love every scene that includes Focalors and Neuvillette especially when Focalors says "Hydro dragon, Hydro dragon don't cry" That really hits me.
Rukkhadevata's backstory shown on a more personal level would be so great to see. heck, even Nahida's suffering is only shown in depth outside the game. if Rukkhadevata's and Nahida's sacrifice and suffering have similar executions (pun not intended) to Focalors and Furina in terms of storytelling then no doubt we will be just as sad.
@@Yen-jw1ls Rukkhadevata/Nahida's suffering was able to make all of the Genshin community cry even without the 3rd party lore dumps like the comics twisting the knife. They also didnt rely on a bratty archetype fake out to get it done. Is Focalor's death sad? Yes. Does it beat out Rukkhadevata's sacrifice? Absolutely not. They also didnt have any Jesus archetypes like they did with Fontaine. Like I haven't seen a "guy hovering in the rain fighting to forgive the sins of mankind" trope since Neo in Matrix 3. Was a bit cringe.
I'm the opposite actually, Though the 4.2 quest made me sad and stare endlessly at the ceiling for 2-3 hours, it didn't make me cry. But with 3.2, I bawled my eyes out (I even cried myself to sleep by then). Now, don't get me wrong. Both writings were good! Both conveyed the sadness and grief of Nahida and Furina Both displayed the relief and regret of Rukkha and Focalors I can't fully comprehend why 3.2 feels more impactful for me, but if I had to pinpoint it, there's just something heart wrenching seeing someone slowly dissappear before your eyes. The part where Nahida and Rukkha hugged each other as the latter is litterally fading into existence is just...so painful. And then they had to it us with Nahida not remembering anything about Rukkha at all while she's tearing up....that scene broke me even more... Also, For Riddles for Wonders was a fantastic bg music for the scene....
@@Yen-jw1ls Furina's case causes more impact because at least everything turned out well for Nahida. She reached the position of archon, everyone venerates her and she is in her jovial archon years. On the other hand, Furina's case did not end happily, but rather bittersweet. 500 years of life is too much for a human mind, for a god, not so much... in fact you notice this clearly when you don't see Nahida suffer for having been alive for 500 years but for other aspects. Furina, after that sacrifice, did not wish for anything, she just went to live a life away from things while she healed her mental wounds and her depression, and even the description of her elemental ability when you read at the bottom tells you that on Wednesdays she suffers attacks of melancholy in solitude usually. It gives people a feeling of injustice because Furina didn't get the big thing, she just wanted something humble like being able to live a normal life without any ounce of recognition for what she did. Summary: Nahida everything turned out well, she doesn't even remember Rukka so it's complicated for her to feel bad, plus in essence Rukka and Nahida are also the same being (If you wonder what Nahida will be like when she matures you can always look at Rukka to know it). The corrupt sages were expelled, Nahida adored and they gave her everything she deserves, however in Fontaine you are left with a bittersweet feeling, you want to have revenge on Celestia. Comentarios
In my opinion, being able to choose how and why to die is one of the greatest achievements we can have. Focalros did it and when I saw this moment I felt more a sense of accomplishment and sacrificial victory than of sadness or tragedy.
What really gets me is that in the end, both Focalors and Furina chose the people of Fontaine over their own wishes… even though their wishes weren’t even auch big requests to begin with, and they were things their people took for granted every day. Focalors just wanted to be human - to be with others, chat over sweets, laugh, have walks along the beach, to fall in love. She just wanted to live a normal life. Furina just wanted to have a friend. She just wanted someone to listen to her, to understand her, she just wanted to be like a regular person for one moment, with the ability to open up and pour her heart out, just once after hundreds of years of being alone, and keeping everything a secret. Both of them wanted so little, but they wanted it so bad… and they chose to give it all up. Focalors became the hydro archon, locked away in a mechanism created to end her life. And after all that time, all she had was a single conversation and a single dance… a dance to her own execution. She died, while dreaming about what it could’ve been. Furina accepted her role as an archon, and dedicated herself to keeping the secret, at the cost of her own life. She was the prisoner of the role she played, paranoid of making a mistake and longing for company. And when the time came, and she met someone who she could’ve trusted, who was probably safe to confide in… and in the end, she decided to reject that offer. She wanted to open up so badly, but the slim chance that this could end up ruining everything and kill everyone was too much for her… and she chose to continue suffering by herself, forever missing this one in a lifetime chance. She smiled on, as she continued to play her role she ao desperately wanted to stop playing. Both of them sentenced themselves. Focalors sentenced herself to death, and Furina sentenced herself to pain and loneliness. All for the people. And although in the end Furina’s wish somewhat came true, as everyone was saved and she was finally freed… her name is now tainted as a fake, and she’ll never be able to tell anyone why she did any of this, and what she experienced. She’s free, she can now live, but she must live with the wounds of hundreds of years, without a word. I didn’t think anything could make me love that obnoxious, spoiled brat we met at the beginning. But knowing what she endured, how little she wanted, and how she still sacrificed her last opportunity to get just a moment of relief for her people… I must admit, I like her. Both her and Focalors are true archons, who gave their all to save their people.
People of fontaine knows the truth after neuvillette told focalor and furina situation. The maison also acknowledged neuvillette’s awakening as the hydro sovereign dragon and they know neuvillette never lie. In Furina’s story quest when the she and other opera actors did 'the little oceanid’ the spectator excited when Furina does the last song meaning they still see Furina as an idol and symbol of fontaine
I immediately fell in love with the music of this cutscene, it's both somber and joyful; it's bittersweet. I spent the entire afternoon yesterday learning the chords and scale that was used here, it wasn't the same scale as on the Fontaine theme.
@@zayyan7654 Sure, though I only tried learning the parts throughout Focalors's dance. G minor scale with mainly the chords Gm, Bb, Cm7, and D7. I tried using Daug and EbM7, F7, Gsus4 on the slower earlier parts of the piece to emphasize its somber feel.
This song can be divided in 5 major segments in my opinion. 1. 0:00 - 0:35 realisation 2. 0:35 - 1:12 relief 3. 1:12 - 2:09 grief 4. 2:09 - 2:35 heroism 5. 2:35 - 2:54 conclusion 1. Realisation. It starts with silence. The music slowly picks uo as the realisation truly dawns upon Traveler, Furina, Neuvillette and us as the viewers. We start to realise what had been going on all this time. 2. Relief This is specific to Furina. Like she was told "all will end in a dramatic trial", she knew this was it. Finally, relief came, and she must've felt somewhat joyous knowing her 500 uears of suffering came to an end 3. Grief Focalors is dead, greatly shattering Neuvillette's heart. More importantly, after initial joy, Furina's emotions bursted to the surface. All her pain, suffering, fear, anxiety, grief, regret and guilt bursted away. She is finally free from this torment, yet she cannot do anything but feel hopeless, weak and sad. 4. Heroism Neuvillette realised his role in Focalors' plan. He knows exactly what he must do, and he does it. He declares the people of Fontaine innocent of their crimes, and saves them. 5. Conclusion The Masquerade of the guilty comes to an end. The years of lies, suffering, and pain are over. For Fontaine, for Furina, for Neuvillette. The story concludes, much like the dramatic trial Focalors spoke of, the very first day of her becoming an archon.
What's even more haunting is that all the while that Focalors was talking to Neuvilette, the guillotine followed her every step above, waiting to come down on her. You can see the glowing shadow of the guillotine under her as she walks around on the stage in the cutscenes.
The saddest part about Furina's efforts is that her centuries-long role in the biggest opera of Fontaine that no mortal should have the capacity to play went without applause. I thought no one remembering Rhukkadevata was sad enough, but until rectified, Furina will always be remembered as nothing but a fake and that makes me sadge.
at least in her story quest (SPOILERS) it seems to be general belief that she used up all her archon powers for the oratrice, the bluff that got believed as fact because the dissolving stopped, making people believe she did her archon duties in stopping it, and then passing the role to neuvillette
@@immortal_shrooms6757Yoi gotta do what you gotta do to calm the masses and thank god Fontainians are the dumbest people around cuz the last trial literally proved that Furina was a normal human that took the Hydro Archon's place
Honestly I love how it starts with a mixture of Focalors' and Furina's themes and then dies down, literally, before being built back up into a hint of Neuvillette's theme. It does a wonderful job at thematically showing how Focalors time in charge of the narrative is done and now it's Neuvillette's time and he is the one that dictates how the song ends, it's a metaphorical passing of the torch.
0:35 I love the little music box-esqe jingle, it's so cute yet you can still tell that there is something looming behind it. It was nice to meet you Focalor, thank you for never giving up on your people. Rest well
"Ah, the hour of my execution is almost here. For the sinner, the curtain call has come. I know I may not sound it, but... Faced with death, I find myself a little afraid. Perhaps, this is one thing that both gods and humans have in common, heheh... Farewell, Neuvillette. I hope you've enjoyed the part you played these five hundred years."
I love how calming Focalors’ theme is, despite the melancholic story behind it. I feel like the composers behind it managed that by putting Focalors’ love for the people of Fontaine to music. Almost something like a mother calming her child, telling them not to cry about her passing, but to live on and laugh each day. What a piece of art!
Neuvillette's theme gives me chills every time I hear it in this cutscene... I will never hear Fountaine's theme the same... Just like they did with Riddles and Wonders in Sumeru...
0:35 breaks me every time. The end of a long journey, but still in the face of death she chooses to dance, to live to the fullest, to the melody of the people and the nation she worked so hard to save. It reminds me of NieR music tbh, except instead of failing, she succeeded, and it still hurt just as much
Without question this is the best cutscene genshin has produced so far. From the dance, to Neuvi's reaction to her death, to just how damn well Ray Chase delivered those lines once Neuvi was up in the air. If they ever top this, that will be a miracle.
i won't be surprised if that happens because goddamn they can do it! how the story progresses... probably we will see something really big in Snezhnaya
It's so sad to think that both of her suffered so immensely. I hope that Focalors/Furina found comfort in Neuvilette and Traveler being able to join them in their final performance.
This quest was the one I cried the most during… First to the sentence of Furina, then to Childe looking damaged, Furina unraveling her story, the sad reveal of her 18,000th scene, the unknown tears running down her face, the dance, the blade piercing through Focalor, Neuvillette’s sadness and almost rage for Justice, the people being saved. It touched some part of me that I didn’t know could be touched.
This is the best most amazing, captivating, heartbreaking moment in Genshin...I am still in an awe & tears...lets not talk about Furina's opera song...!!!!
0:43 Like she just mentioned at the beginning her face says it all "I'm afraid of death, but I must do it for my people. Let me feel 'human' for once with this dance". But the one that got me the most is when the story of Furina acting for 500 years non-stop. Literally not being herself, for the good of her people. I'm surprised that she can retain her sanity even in the aftermath. It's just hit too close to home.
The scene at 1:40 with the music there just always brings brings me to tears man. Every time I hear that tune I'll think of this scene, engraved into my head..
Her dance was so graceful, beautiful, yet so deeply sad, like the stars above, there are others who wish for something they can not obtain in their lives
Im so glad i record cut scenes as a mobile player . . . because i made this my freaking ring tone, fav cut scene, favorite nation and archon, and it just plays, so when a youtube short plays the sound, i immediately think i have a call. She's underrated and deserves ALL THE CAKES ❤
There has been many sad stories/quests within the game, but this was the only one that made me bawl my eyes out. My throat even hurt from crying afterward. When Teppei I didn't shed a single tear, and yet for Focalor and for Furina.....
I can't get over how Fontaine's last chapter was inspired by the Bible. Wriothesley with this giant ship saving people from drowning like Noah. Focalors, who took the sins of Fontainians upon herself and died to save them like Jesus. I'm not overthinking, am I? When I watched it for the first time, I was too shocked to even be sad, but now, the more I listen to it, the more I think about it, I can't stop crying. To think that in the future, no one will remember her sacrafice. Neither Focalor's or Furina's. Only Nuevilette may remain, able to tell a story of once great Archon (sorry for any spelling mistakes, english isn't my native language)
Hoyoverse never fails to amaze me with the songs, incredible how every year i think "this is it, that's the best song in the game" and every year they exceds my expectations. also, they cover every base, from playful and jamming musics to absolute depriment ballads to make me cry just hearing it like this one
Bro and the thought that she is now on her own struggling to learn even simple tasks like makeing pasta (only dish she know) after leaving palace when she could have most rare and luxorious sweets just like that... she deserves better. She deserves hug... It's bad day for the rain...
remember that scene of Furina and Arlecchino, when Furina said “I have my own ways and I’ve been working on it for all this time”, this girl isnt joking
If the emotions i had was a nail's point resting above my chest, the music would be the hammer. This has to be, hands down the best archon quest for me. So ironic, so tragic the character played by furina was for a time revered, yet nobody spectating knew the real role their archon had. No overwhelming applause nor praise sung for her sacrifice. I dont know if it was explained but it makes me sadder still to know she will never get to see the fruits of her labour. To Address her people as her literal "people". Love this game man.
If sad, why a banger? For real though, this quest was a beautifully bittersweet masterpiece. Everyone suffered so much, and now they’ve been freed (some in less then ideal ways) but still free. 10/10 would cry again. Also pleaseeee come soon Furina! I just want my bbg😭
I noticed how during sinner's finale it has a kinda of basically the Fontaine's theme, I think it probably imply that Focalors is doing this (sacrificing herself) for the people of Fontaine.
It’s weird if she hug though, remember that she separates the humanity out, but hug is the most intimate expression of compassion in humanity, it will interrupt the character set up
The way she danced, she was both dabbing on fooling celestia with her performance and to end the facades with a curtsy with style. When focalor said she wasn't really dead and she doesn't see it that way, remember she is an oceanid and that furina is basically her without the powers. So she lives... which is also what makes this scene a huge dab to celestia
Not arguing the sheer will strength of Furina and how much she had to endure. Yet let's not diminish the scale of Focalor's care for the nation and what an impossible weight she had to carry on her shoulders for more than half a millenia. She inherited the burden of responsibility for something she has not done. Yet was not seeking the wayout for herself but started looking for any possibility to prevent the calamity. Later Furina spent centuries doing exactly the same. Yet Focalors came to an understanding that only a masterful deceit culminating in her ultimate sacrifice could give her nation a chance. Hence she started the preparations: - initiated the construction of the Opera Epiclese (which - as I have noticed later from the opposite bank of the river - bears a clear resemblence of a guillotine - emphasizing the symbolism of the place) - created the Oratrice in order to accumulate and store enough energy to be sufficient for the final act - used a portion of the stored energy to power everything in Fontaine and bringing the nation to the forefront of all technological discoveries and breakthroughs in Teyvat - invited Neuvillette to take role of the chief justice to intruduce him the human population of Fontaine as conflicted and contradicting as it is yet under Neuvillette's guidence ever moving to a just and rightful life - separated her human part into a different entity creating a brand new human being in order to maintain the facade and fool Celestia; hereby denying herself the very experience of humanity which was the origin of creation of human race from oceanids by Egeria - for 500 years she was confined to the very place of her final dance separated from everyone and everything, day by day coming close to the finale I have not finished all the quests in Fontaine yet - therefore it is purely a speculation - but possibly ousia and pneuma were infused into the land by Focalors as well preparing the nation to the moment when indemnitium will no longer be available. With the above said - as much as I pity and admire Furina for her role in all the events for past 500 years. She at least got herself if not a happy end but full of hope for a brighter future resolution. Yet Focalors sacrificed everything to save her nation. Which is why from my perspective Archon of Justice delivered justice to everyone but herself...
In terms of narrative, this might be the greatest cutscene in Genshin history.
indeed!

@@trollking6315i feel like this is a bit more nitpicky
I'm the opposite actually, Though the 4.2 quest made me sad and stare endlessly at the ceiling for 2-3 hours, it didn't make me cry.
But with 3.2, I bawled my eyes out (I even cried myself to sleep by then).
Now, don't get me wrong. Both writings were good! Both conveyed the sadness and grief of Nahida and Furina
Both displayed the relief and regret of Rukkha and Focalors
I can't fully comprehend why 3.2 feels more impactful for me, but if I had to pinpoint it, there's just something heart wrenching seeing someone slowly dissappear before your eyes.
@@Yen-jw1ls
Furina's case causes more impact because at least everything turned out well for Nahida.

Could I please know the scale and the chords progression
@@zayyan7654
Sure, though I only tried learning the parts throughout Focalors's dance. G minor scale with mainly the chords Gm, Bb, Cm7, and D7. I tried using Daug and EbM7, F7, Gsus4 on the slower earlier parts of the piece to emphasize its somber feel.
This song can be divided in 5 major segments in my opinion.
1. 0:00 - 0:35 realisation
2. 0:35 - 1:12 relief
3. 1:12 - 2:09 grief
4. 2:09 - 2:35 heroism
5. 2:35 - 2:54 conclusion
1. Realisation.
It starts with silence. The music slowly picks uo as the realisation truly dawns upon Traveler, Furina, Neuvillette and us as the viewers.
We start to realise what had been going on all this time.
2. Relief
This is specific to Furina. Like she was told "all will end in a dramatic trial", she knew this was it. Finally, relief came, and she must've felt somewhat joyous knowing her 500 uears of suffering came to an end
3. Grief
Focalors is dead, greatly shattering Neuvillette's heart.
More importantly, after initial joy, Furina's emotions bursted to the surface. All her pain, suffering, fear, anxiety, grief, regret and guilt bursted away. She is finally free from this torment, yet she cannot do anything but feel hopeless, weak and sad.
4. Heroism
Neuvillette realised his role in Focalors' plan. He knows exactly what he must do, and he does it. He declares the people of Fontaine innocent of their crimes, and saves them.
5. Conclusion
The Masquerade of the guilty comes to an end.
Nice catch
DONT MAKE ME CRY this scene was so sad but so pretty... i want to give furina a hug :(
" A stage where everyone must play a part, mine a sad one. "
That neuvillette theme was holy and heroic tbh 😮
neuvillette’s scene also made me goosebumps in this archon quest 😢
The saddest part about Furina's efforts is that her centuries-long role in the biggest opera of Fontaine that no mortal should have the capacity to play went without applause. I thought no one remembering Rhukkadevata was sad enough, but until rectified, Furina will always be remembered as nothing but a fake and that makes me sadge.
They did NOT give her JUSTICE ironically
@@metal9076 Celestia is to be blamed for all the mess Fontaine has to go through.
at least in her story quest (SPOILERS) it seems to be general belief that she used up all her archon powers for the oratrice, the bluff that got believed as fact because the dissolving stopped, making people believe she did her archon duties in stopping it, and then passing the role to neuvillette
@@immortal_shrooms6757Yoi gotta do what you gotta do to calm the masses and thank god Fontainians are the dumbest people around cuz the last trial literally proved that Furina was a normal human that took the Hydro Archon's place
@@burnedpotatoes720Oceanid and Egeria is the one blamed if she not hear Ocanid wish to become humab this will not happen.
Omg. I red it with Focalors voice 🩵
The melody changing from Furina to Neuvillette is really amazing.
Neuvillette's theme gives me chills every time I hear it in this cutscene...
I will never hear Fountaine's theme the same...
Just like they did with Riddles and Wonders in Sumeru...
2:06 the transition here and Neuvilette reprise theme made me cry I can really feel the emotion through the music 😭😭😭 I kept coming back to this
That ending shot with Neuvillette hanging in the sky… just hits different
"Hydro Dragon, Hydro Dragon. Don't cry."
And that's all the dam break loose.
Her willpower to act as Focalors every single day for 500 years is just incomprehensible, I can't imagine how lonely she felt
180.000*
This is the best most amazing, captivating, heartbreaking moment in Genshin...I am still in an awe & tears...lets not talk about Furina's opera song...!!!!
I don't know how many times I have listened this today ❤ and still in tears
Seeing Fuirna crying on her thone, believing that she's failed after 500 years of torment and _completely_ shutting down as a result, just breaks me.
This is really a scene that makes us think a lot about focalors ,both in terms of music and her sacrifice, everything is very sad
This mission made me cry when i finished a few minutes ago😢 best cinematic at all❤
0:35 where the chills cover your entire body as this melody starts , this cutscene will be the best for me no matter what.
I agree so much this part is so under looked. Especially FURINAS poor eyes barely staying open after enduring all that pain for 500 years.
yess!

Her dance was so graceful, beautiful, yet so deeply sad, like the stars above, there are others who wish for something they can not obtain in their lives
I love how this has more views than the official cutscene
So ironic😂😂😂
0:36 I honestly want a full version of this version of the fontaine theme

i was stunned in this aq, the visual, the story, the music, truly a masterpiece
This is just my Most favorite scene of whole genshin. A true masterpiece
so pretty yet melancholic.
her ost here is melancholic yet hopeful :(
Foçalors is now my favorite character of all of this world.
Im so glad i record cut scenes as a mobile player . . . because i made this my freaking ring tone, fav cut scene, favorite nation and archon, and it just plays, so when a youtube short plays the sound, i immediately think i have a call. She's underrated and deserves ALL THE CAKES ❤
this cutscene wss so that there aren't even enough words to describe it, it was emotional that left me with tears :') thanks for this cover!!
This song makes me want to roll up and cry uncontrollably on my bed while screaming “I HATE YOU CELESTIA”.
This so is so beautiful.
Focalors is the chorus
Neuvillette is the pre chorus.
And furina is the start.
Focalors really lived up to her title as the hydro archon and made millions of genshin players cry
There has been many sad stories/quests within the game, but this was the only one that made me bawl my eyes out. My throat even hurt from crying afterward. When Teppei I didn't shed a single tear, and yet for Focalor and for Furina.....
She doesn't want to die she wanted to live us human and experience human society but she has to die to protect them man this quest hit difference
Neuvillette holding back tears hurt me so badly
I can't get over how Fontaine's last chapter was inspired by the Bible. Wriothesley with this giant ship saving people from drowning like Noah. Focalors, who took the sins of Fontainians upon herself and died to save them like Jesus. I'm not overthinking, am I?
When I watched it for the first time, I was too shocked to even be sad, but now, the more I listen to it, the more I think about it, I can't stop crying.
To think that in the future, no one will remember her sacrafice. Neither Focalor's or Furina's. Only Nuevilette may remain, able to tell a story of once great Archon
(sorry for any spelling mistakes, english isn't my native language)
Hoyoverse never fails to amaze me with the songs, incredible how every year i think "this is it, that's the best song in the game" and every year they exceds my expectations. also, they cover every base, from playful and jamming musics to absolute depriment ballads to make me cry just hearing it like this one
Bro and the thought that she is now on her own struggling to learn even simple tasks like makeing pasta (only dish she know) after leaving palace when she could have most rare and luxorious sweets just like that... she deserves better. She deserves hug... It's bad day for the rain...
after this archon quest, every time i hear the fontaine ost its really makes me wanna cry for focalor😥
this is the only cutscene that made me cry. i was fully sobbing through this part of the quest
remember that scene of Furina and Arlecchino, when Furina said “I have my own ways and I’ve been working on it for all this time”, this girl isnt joking
Best archon quest i ever played, rip focalors 😭😔
I just cant stop watching it ngl the Neuvilette parts are my favorite
Just finished the archon quest and gosh what an incredible theme. It sounds melancholic yet full of hope and it’s woven into Fontaine’s main theme.
I have been crying intermittently to this OST since I finished the quest. It's so heartbreaking, beautiful and powerful at the same time.
god i love this song so much, so much emotion and sadness
1:40 The violin... The way it sounds... It's so sad that I literally teared up...😢
This had me just speechless yet I felt hypnotized
I just want my bbg😭
this mix sends shivers down my spine, i absolutely love this.
the transition to neuvillette’s ost… shit got me ascending from the fucking sea
May you rest in piece focalor 🤧
I noticed how during sinner's finale it has a kinda of basically the Fontaine's theme, I think it probably imply that Focalors is doing this (sacrificing herself) for the people of Fontaine.
Everyone talking about how they wanna hug Furina, meanwhile I just wanna give Neuvillette a hug :,(
No IM want close him to forget all his sad experience
they really missed the opportunity to animate Focalor hugging him before the execution 😢
It’s weird if she hug though, remember that she separates the humanity out, but hug is the most intimate expression of compassion in humanity, it will interrupt the character set up
Actually, it's both of them that needs a hug, or they could just hug each other
they should hug each other and we should hug them while they are hugging
both of them deserve it
This cutscene brought me to tears. The story for this nation's ending was tragically wonderful.
Whenever I feel sad, I listen to this music and it makes me cry even more
"You are a devious one, Focalors".
The stage was her domain
The stage became her final resting place 😢
1:40 it’s been a month and I still can’t help but tear up at this part. From Furina’s theme to Focalors’ final word to Furina
Omg thank you so much I love this piece❤❤❤
i listen this every day, it´s a master piece, you can feel so many different emotions in the whole song
I can never never stop sobbing whenever I watch this
I just love the violin at 1:39 due to it striking such melancholy into this scene
I never thought that a cutscene from Genshin could make me cry, but this... yeah it definetly did. :')
This is so sad, beautiful and gutwrenching and i cannot stop watching this
Not arguing the sheer will strength of Furina and how much she had to endure.
Hence she started the preparations:
- initiated the construction of the Opera Epiclese (which - as I have noticed later from the opposite bank of the river - bears a clear resemblence of a guillotine - emphasizing the symbolism of the place)
- created the Oratrice in order to accumulate and store enough energy to be sufficient for the final act
- used a portion of the stored energy to power everything in Fontaine and bringing the nation to the forefront of all technological discoveries and breakthroughs in Teyvat
- invited Neuvillette to take role of the chief justice to intruduce him the human population of Fontaine as conflicted and contradicting as it is yet under Neuvillette's guidence ever moving to a just and rightful life
- separated her human part into a different entity creating a brand new human being in order to maintain the facade and fool Celestia;
hereby denying herself the very experience of humanity which was the origin of creation of human race from oceanids by Egeria
- for 500 years she was confined to the very place of her final dance separated from everyone and everything, day by day coming close to the finale
I have not finished all the quests in Fontaine yet - therefore it is purely a speculation - but possibly ousia and pneuma were infused into the land by Focalors as well preparing the nation to the moment when indemnitium will no longer be available.
At this point of time, the death of Focalors, also means that there are now 6 archons, but Furina will be an honorary archon for all.
honestly don't think I've heard anything better than this in Genshin.
