From what I've read, the rivalry goes back a few years because Molchanov's (missing, presumed dead) mother used to coach Alenka as well.
And the same site said she (Alenka) recovered from a suicide attempt 10 years ago.

Great video. I think a valuable discussion here is where athletes are taking their mouthfills, and where, if, they re-charge. I know it's difficult to see sometimes, actually easier this year now that Dive Eye increased their image resolution. Also sometimes you can see if they reverse pack etc. Anyway, great job

You can also compare Alexey's 131 @ VB with the 131 at the WC in 2019? - Alexey has changed his swimming style there..
The freefall moment is not THAT important in my view, but rather an tactical choice. The trend is clear as the deepest athletes choose not to wear any weights but prefer to keep swimming down.
Also have you noticed the Alexey mouth-fill moment?
