Recall and hold the image of a child or adolescent as a self willed, autonomous, self organizing young adult.

Ahhhhh, that hits the spot! I've missed John Breeding on this channel. A talk from John is like drinking a refreshing glass of fresh pure water. What a relief his perspective on life is.

If you have ever seen a video game being made, the recordings for the character motions can be transmitted to live human beings. The human beings can only receive the transmissions if they have receivers near appropriate nerves. A program like Sims can be used to control a room full of tagged humans. Electronic mind control is the reason countless children exhibit behaviors they did not pick up at home or school.

John, I deeply appreciate your videos. Do you do any talks about how to treat a spirited kid like I was, who injured a kid in a rock-throwing fight - age 6 or 7 - my throw connected, the kid had 8 stitches (thankfully no worse), and I got the worst beating of my life from my father, who had to bring the kid to his parents and say his son did it. Of course I was traumatized - but how should the father deal with it?

I hope you don't mind me saying something . I think its greatest to imagine if you were his age what would you need you dad to do for you ? Put yourself in your childs shoes , no one gets
angry for nothing . May be ask you son ? Just have a chat and listen you will understand what to do sometimes if not always just listening .

Self determination is flawed because people can be irrational and make mistakes.

Only one complaint ... considering the topic, I would have loved to see a little diversity in the thumbnail photo.

But doesn't everything in the universe relate to other entities of the universe? Doesn't gravity of our planet pull on you just as much as it pulls on Mars or to a lesser extent Saturn. My adopted land is Sweden and here traditionally the middle way was considered the best.
I Think that I may have been to Wild (precisely in your sense, I never have done hard drugs or serious crime, I have no criminal record, Ive never hurt anyone I even cry a bit sometimes when I am in an arranged ifght and so on) - too free. While it's made me a very interesting person ( i keep getting told this) it's created tremendous difficulties of integration.
One issue, that illustrates this well is that something that's supposed to be good, such as spotting bullshit, has almost become a detriment to me. I spot Bullshit too easily, that is actions or events that have no concern for the truth but advance a certain emotional state, agenda or anything else. Most people just go with the flow and they don't snag on everything that's like this. In fact they enjoy bullshit to a degree. They enjoy fantasies about reality that make their lives or self image easier, even if that means being manipulated or manipulating themselves.
But maybe, maybe this manipulation is not so bad. Maybe its just gravity, a way to pull each other closer.
A question to you John if you ever see this but also t everyone else: John mentions that his children have found great, exciting paths. But we live in a capitalist system and a conformist culture. How should someone that doesnt end up on that path, someone working as a walmart clerk or a psychologist in a mental hospital react? Different positions but with the same dogmatic demands placed on these people.
And if these reasonably "wild" people "leave" those positions, then even worse people, those able to resist that control even less will end up filling them, no? Sadly we cant change the world immediately.
