    Hi, i just got a 2008 tiger 1050 and it is not charging, i have done all the tests with my multi meter and it needs replacing. Great video

    Merci pour cette vidéo. Je ne parle pas anglais, alors j'ai essayé de comprendre avec la traduction qui n'est pas toujours très bonne. Je possède une Triumph 1050 Tiger de 2007 j'ai un problème de charge j'ai changé la batterie et le régulateur mais mon problème est toujours persistant. Donc avant de changer l'alternateur j'aimerais savoir si il y a une fuite de courant quelque part.

      Pour savoir si l'alternateur est en bon état, vous pouvez mesurer la puissance de la batterie. Démarrez la moto et mesurez le courant continu sur les bornes de la batterie. La sortie doit être d'environ 14,2V - utilisez ensuite l'accélérateur jusqu'à 5000RPM et vous devriez avoir environ 14,8V.
      Le régulateur shunte la tension excédentaire à la terre et commute le courant entre la batterie et les consommateurs. Si vous l'avez remplacé, la prochaine pièce logique à remplacer est l'alternateur.

    Great job as always. Just a quick question. Is it always best practice to fit a new stator, when replacing the regulator/rectifier? Thanks again for the video.

      Hi David. No in theory not. Although when replacing a RR you best measure the stator. Disconnect the plug near the RR and measure the stator coils. Reference is in the manual. If it’s not in spec replace it. I replaced the stator as well to be sure. Because the OEM stator of the Tiger can fail when you have additional draw on the system.

    I noticed you didn’t put any loctite on the bike or the cover ? Just the wire coming out the cover … you don’t need to put any gasket sealant ? Thank you

      You need a gasket and some sealant near the cable. I do this just before installing the cover.

    Ever since I replaced mine, I think oil is wicking up the wire to the connector. Not quite sure what I did wrong, but it’s very annoying.

      You have gravity - a seal - loctite - wire harness and dielectric grease preventing any intrusion of water/ air/ oil into the electrical system. So can’t happen unless you crushed the wire or broke the connector somehow. Reopen and check for damage. Could also be a bad stator from factory but that’s highly unlikely if you buy premium. Good luck

    Hi!
    Mine is not charging the battery
    Just taked off that cover
    There was about 50ml of oil there, all stator in oil
    is that ok or there need to be clean?

      You should not work on a motorcycle if you need to ask this. You risk your life if you make mistakes. Anyway, yes the stator runs in oil, cooling among others is the reason. Good luck

      Really. I bought this brand because they are the ones available in the parts shop. My research confirmed this brand is better than the OEM. You don’t need to like it or be here bud! Just be more open minded mister ‘keyboard sm hero’
