- Hey UA-camrs, here we have the Video Doorbell 3 from Ring. This is a battery powered 1080p smart doorbell that can also be powered by and existing doorbell setup*, a Ring Power adapter or Ring's solar doorbell surround. Not only does it notify you when someone has pressed the doorbell, but also can be setup to detect movement. You can view, answer and operate the doorbell via smart phone app and Alexa devices such as Fire TV and Echo Show. If you don't have an existing doorbell that this can be connected up to, Ring also have different wireless door chimes that you can pair up using the Ring app.

Attaching the doorbell to the mount is a little difficult but once it locks into place it seems extremely sturdy. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxHZwMa8CsRjYhf9s4W8w0Dwm47uytWOp I replaced my regular doorbell with this and hard wired it in, using my existing wires and mechanical chime. It works perfect so far and integrates perfectly with my blink camera system. It also works seamlessly with Alexa
Thank you - first video I saw that addressed the bracket issue. Also the instructions I have show using only 2 small screws in the description but in the picture it shows using 4, just like you did. Seems that would be more secure!
Setup and installation instructions, made nice and easy .
Thank you
got the same one they are fantastic great bit of kit
Thanks Andy, crystal clear !
Thanks. Really useful video. We know what we’re doing now !😃🙏
Nice one !
Well Explanation
Thanks
That's going to be a pain in the a, to remove the battery to charge it... I'm sure people will lose their screws a lot. Ring should've made the battery compartment so that we only need a pin to push the faceplate out. Much better and no screwing.
I’ve had no problem taking the battery out to recharge, plus ring do include a spare faceplate screw too
I didnt get a drill bit so not sure what size to use , also haven't got a drill so will have to borrow one
Brill video. Very clear. Thx
Thank you
My Ring Doorbell 3 came with a blue torx screwdriver that only fits the security srews? I also didn't get a level or black replacement cover or drill bit, wth??
Same here

I had to substitute a small screw from a computer to secure the battery pack to the faceplate. I didn't get the special screws or the little tool to use.
@@josephsolis3018 not great that, I actually got a spare of each screw , I'll probably not be able to find them when I need them though 😂
I have the 3+, also it surprised me that it spoke at me when it was first setup
I didn’t get a drill bit with mine, which one should I be using?
What if you dont use the angle bracket, can you mount to brick using the four screw holes on the ring device? Thanks
Yes, mount directly to the wall if not using angle brackets
You Need Buy Echo Dot 4th Generation Charcoal And U Put Your Echo Dot 4th Generation Charcoal In Your Living Room And Alexa Will Say Motion Detected At Your Front Door Camera?
U don’t need this to install wired do u can this be wired installing also ???
What size is the drill bit? Is it a 6mm? I've recently bought a second hand one but didn't have the drill bit in. Thanks👍
Yes, I believe it is a 15/64 (or 7/32)in imperial, which is just over 5.5mm, so you should be able to get away with a 6mm bit. Go for a 5.5 for a snug fit if you have one
@@andycdgreen Thanks Andy. 6mm worked a treat 🤙
I didn't get a drill bit, I had to buy one.
The instructions recommended an installation height of 4 ft (1.2m) but isn't this a bit too low? At this height is the face still captured when someone rings the bell or is another elevation better suited?
I just pre-setup the doorbell prior to installation, and held it against the wall and used my phone to gauge where the best position would be based on the camera angle
My ring 3 come today interesanting is you have box Moore bigger then mine why? 😕😕
Vert goid
No drill bit at all and 3 wall plugs what size drill bit please

Wow, I never seen a drill like that where can you buy one at.
It's called a hammer drill. Any hardware store should have it.
And I don't find in settings that whit busy street mine is busy street whit cars
Should have shown the wiring set mate.
This model isn’t wired, it’s the rechargeable battery model
I think Ring are cutting costs, I got no drill bit or mini level 🙄
Was this the same model?

worse doorbell ever good luck the someones at your door then 5 min while it trys to connect the video and minecraft quality even in day light
Sorry you’ve had that experience, mine has been faultless
Just got this must have been a problem with your unit, getting great video day and night and once you play around to get the correct sensitivity setting for motion detection it works great. There are 3 options for hjow quickly it will detect (delay between detections). I went with he most sensitive option and just purchased a 2nd battery so I can swap it out really quickly as that setting is more battery intensive. Can be fiddly to get the settings exactly right for your needs, but works great once you get there.
