- Join me on this exciting episode as I venture into uncharted territory to scout out some potential camping spots for the fall season in the stunning Arizona Sonoran Desert. Whenever I get the chance to explore this incredible desert landscape, it’s a day well spent! This time, I’m heading to a new area I’ve never been to before, and let me tell you-the trail and scenery did not disappoint. With towering saguaros, sprawling cacti, and breathtaking views at every turn, this adventure was nothing short of epic.
While the temperatures were high, that didn’t stop me from getting out and experiencing the beauty of my own backyard. In fact, one particularly sharp cactus found the sole of my shoe, adding a bit more excitement to the day! Exploring new trails is always game-changing for the mind and incredibly rejuvenating for the spirit. There’s nothing like getting out in nature and seeing what the world has to offer. So, was the campsite I researched worth the hype? Will I return to this spot for more adventures in the future?

What I like about scouting is it gives me an opportunity to get out and explore the area without any expectation or stress. I mark the spot on the map as a place to camp so when I go there later, I already know what to expect from the terrain and the area. That way I can just focus on camping.
Enjoyed the vid. Your geography is nothing like mine but I’m enjoying watching.
@@That_Paul_Guy Thank you so much for watching. Your assessment is spot on and I couldn’t agree more. It’s fun to get out and just see what’s there and then when you go back, you know what’s in store. Although, sometimes it’s good to be spontaneous and just camp at the unexpected. Thanks for watching! Means a lot.
Hope to see you soon buddy
@@OVRLNDX Ready my friend! Let’s go. Quick evening in your vicinity I’m there. Send the smoke single and let me know. 👊🏻
Thanks again for another great, and inspiring video. You are younger than I am, but I don't know how you camp anywhere but Payson or Flagstaff or the Catalinas or Chiricuaha's between April and October. You're a better man than I am! 😂
@@patbrown7813 Well, it is hot but sometimes I just need to get out and make it happen! Hot evenings most certainly I head to elevation or cooler areas. I’ll brave it during the day. Thanks again for watching!
Also, you might put just a generic comb in your rig, and carry one on you in the desert southwest. They come in really handy for removing cholla Cactus from almost anything. We used to keep them in our jersey's when riding and racing mountain bikes
@@patbrown7813 Good advice. Getting one of those things anywhere but my shoe I can’t imagine is a good day. Thanks for watching and the tip!
Great video, we've lived in the Sonoran desert for 22 years. Being a native to Philadelphia it was a big change coming out here to Tucson. Love the desert and appreciate your video. I subscribed to your channel and looking forward to seeing more of your content!
Yes, the desert certainly has a unique vibe to it. Appreciate the kind words and thank you so much for watching and subscribing. Will keep working hard to produce content often as I can. Thanks!
@@explore_x_ , I highly recommend you go through Box Canyon in Florence Arizona. It is one of the narrowest canyons you can drive through in the country I believe. Absolutely beautiful the way the sun reflects off the lichens on the rock walls!
@@billbrecht707 Perfect! Putting it on the list. Know some friends who have been there so it's about time I go as well. Thanks for the recommendation.
Nice, can't wait to get out into the Arizona and Utah areas myself. I want to hit both area's the change in terrain is what I'm looking for. Nice Jeep and set up.👍😎
@@godsbackcountryoverland So many things to see and do out here. Utah is amazing! Appreciate you watching!
F.Y.I. the best way to remove the Jumping Cactus you stepped on is a comb, then plyers to pull out the thorns in your foot. The area will fester and itch a few days before you feel whole again.
@@meekmanofyahweh6452 Awesome advice! Great to know. Thanks!
I have been trying to find a good spot to camp on the north rim too. I’m trying to find a good time to get out to the north rim.
I enjoy watching your videos keep it up.
@@jbierman Thanks! Yes, north rim will be incredible. Appreciate you watching and thanks for the support! Means a lot. 👍🏻
That's awesome! I just found your channel and been watching the videos you post. I'm also in Arizona (Yuma, AZ) and hopefully will run into you someday. Keep it up, love the content!
@@CarlosCastillo-ki8tw Thank you so much! Greatly appreciate the feedback. Yes, we don’t live far from each other. Would like to get down in the Yuma area perhaps this winter. Thanks again! 👍🏻
i need to learn to do what your doing with finding spots, still new to OnX and figuring out how to find dispersed camping spots and trails cause i want to eventually get to the point of going out solo on some adventures. so many amazing spots here in AZ
@@spacemunkey777 So many ways to find trails and potential camping spots. We are definitely spoiled with all the technology available to us today. Appreciate you watching! Thanks!
@@explore_x_ You may want to record a video of you looking for trails and camping spots on OnX! And/or GAIA! I do like your channel.... it is refreshing to see a great video by a small channel and not one of those mega-channels sponsored by everyone. If you do grow that large, do not forget us, the little people. 🙂
@@dr.albertoroldan812 Hey! Thank you so much. I did use onX Offroad. Didn’t put it in video but can next time and thanks for advice. If I am fortunate to hit the big time my humble Indiana roots will keep me grounded. If one forgets where you come from odds are it will come back to bite you. Thanks again for watching!
What about Dual Snorkels? I hear they are all the rage in Bavaria.
@@robertscranton8293 Good question. Honestly, not sure I have seen them. Will have to do some research. Thanks for the info and I appreciate you watching!
Except for that invention of the devil....cholla cactus! Hate that stuff.
@@NativeArizonan It is nasty! That’s not the first time i’ve had an encounter with those things. Roam the desert long enough it’s bound to happen. Appreciate you watching! Thank you.
Your content is fantastic!Do you accept sponsor products?
F.Y.I. I know you are not an Arizona native. The correct way to say Saguaro is the G is pronounced as H, the same way you speak the words, Gila River or Gila Monster, the G is spoken with H instead, such as Hila monster!
@@meekmanofyahweh6452 You are so correct. Appreciate that. Thanks for watching as well! Let’s see if I can get it correct next time. 👍🏻
Hope you don't take it the wrong way but that would be a no on your pronunciation. Not trying to be the pronunciation police, but the correct way people pronounce it is SUH-WAA-ROW. It actually sounds like he pronounced it correctly as it should be in spanish, but again, many people say it differently. AZ Native.
@@CarlosCastillo-ki8tw No worries! Appreciate the insight. Would rather be corrected than continue. But you can educate me and I still may say it wrong! 😂 I don’t take it wrong whatsoever. If one posts on social media he or she better be prepared to have thick skin. 👍🏻
