    We camped at Burrro Creek in early March a few years ago. We were amazed to see a large number of Great Blue Herons nesting in the cliffs overlooking the creek.

      How awesome! Judging from the comments of others staying there, it seems like a popular place to camp. Always fun when others can share their experience with us - especially if it includes wildlife sightings! 😄👍

    I enjoy the campground videos. Another reminder of how beautiful Arizona is. The Burro Creek is gorgeous too.

    I remember going across that bridge when it first opened. 1966? Seems right. Then in 2005 when they added the other lane. Seems before the bridge we drove through a little burg down there somewhere. When the bridge was done the town dried up. Wasn't very big. Lots of history there. I was 10 when it opened and don't really remember where that little town was. Slim might can find it, though he's much younger than I. Those young ones know these things we communicate on better than I. Beautiful place.

      OHH! Will have to dig some info up about the little town. Always love a little hunt and research. 😊

    I stayed at site #7 a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I had my camera and my longest telephoto lens and got some nice shots of big birds coming and going from a nest up high on the cliff, on the other side of the creek. I definitely want to go there again, one day.

      That's awesome! It really seemed like a fantastic site for watching the cliffs. Glad to hear it worked out for you and here's hoping you have another experience there in the future! 😄

    We stayed in the campground a few years back. It was super bloom year...Saw a gigantic rattlesnake in the access road sunning himself...The campground host said there's a lot of them in the area. Eeek! So glad we were off the ground in a truck camper...We had a 4-wheel pop up camper for over 20 years. Check em out Glenn. (The truck campers not the snakes!)

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  6 місяців тому

      Hahah! I think Glenn wouldn't mind the snakes either so long as they keep on doing their own thing. I can easily see that being a habitat they would like though. Awesome to hear from someone else that has stayed there too! 😄

    I loathe the drive to Vegas/Death Valley on the 93 but I've always loved this area, such beautiful desert and so many saguaros! My last trip home from Death Valley I saw this place and did a quick drive through and it was instantly added to the "Must Explore More" list and I appreciate your deep dive!

    Take it from someone who has cleaned many restrooms, “it’s much easier to keep them clean all the time”. Looks like they’re doing a great job!👍🏼

      "Creek"??? We have smaller "Rivers" here in Arizona! The San Pedro, San Francisco, the upper Gila in Duncan. Beautiful area! Another great video, thank you!

    Did you really eat a boiled hot dog instead of roasting it over a campfire??? haha. I was borne in Kingman and lived in Wikiup for many years. Broke a bunch of horses in that area. Thanks for taking me along!

      Animals can be sneaky around campgrounds so not surprising they are designed that way. 😅
