I went on a night drive alone and blasted this song with the windows down and felt alive for the first time in a long time. It's amazing how a song can do that to you.
I've never been a fan of mumford and sons until I heard this song just recently when I was on holiday!! 🤷🏻♂️ Now I just can't stop listening to it!! It's unbelievable To me they are a folk band But this is like folk on steroids 🤷🏻♂️👌
To everyone who is reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you're constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind right now.May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life Amen♥
I really love this. It's still sounds huge like the rest of Mumford's catalogue, but it's a new perspective from the band and it's really amazing to hear Marcus's voice behind this sort of landscape. I was a fan before, but this brings them to a whole nother level. So much respect for a band who aren't afraid to be courageous and branch off into new horizons. Different sound, but same heart. I'm all for it.
This song reminds of a trip that I did with my classmates where I met incredible people. It was also the first time I saw the sea. A magical time without a doubt. I got chills and tears when I hear this. It's such a beautiful sensation.
"I was expecting the EXACT SAME MUSIC from this band whose lead singer has publicly stated their new music was going to be drastically different!!!!!!" - people. I think the song is great.
I love Mumford & Sons but lets be real here for a moment, you could take their first two albums and mix all their songs back to back seamlessly and it would sound like one, hour and a half long song. Which I loved. Now it's time for a change.
I've lived in London for nearly 4 years now and it's funny how as I watch the video I recognise so many streets and tunnels. And the fact that the video ends in the little park behind my house is awesome. :)
I just love how the lyrics as well as the music reflect the restless feeling you get when you’re in a relationship full of doubts and when you’re suddenly in urgent need of answers. You’re unsure but you want to believe. I love the fact that in the video, it’s night time and he picks up the pace as he gets an adrenaline rush towards the end of the song to reach a park bench in a quiet place overlooking a chaotic city. It’s so familiar to my heart and I love Mumford and Sons for relaying it into a song and video.
I love all the hate in the comments. Trying something different for one track of an album is betrayal on astronomical proportions apparently. I think this song is a nice change of pace and I quite like it.
Me and my boyfriend got into an argument one night. I drove away and this song started playing, as I listened to it I turned the car around and went back home. When I got there he was waiting for me and we apologized to one another and made things right. It amazes me how this one song had me change my bad decision and do what I knew in my heart was the right thing, despite being hurt. Thank you Mumford and Sons for creating such a beautiful song that I lucked out listening to that night. You helped us overcome a fight that could've separated us. We're going for 2 years now and I'm forever grateful for the beautiful love songs artists create. Those songs help couples love each other even more and remind us that when we have it good, we should suck up our pride and realize that it hurts because that person matters. Thank you.
I don't think people are listening to the whole song before they judge it. As a fan of Coldplay and Mumford And Sons I don't think they sound that similar in this song. Especially not after the 2 minute mark. Just because it's an anthem doesn't mean it sounds like ever other anthem. Regardless, stop comparing and just take it for what it is, music. Even if it does sound like something else, it's still a great song. Try listening to the words instead of finding a comparison to the sound.

To all those who are saying "This isn't Munford and Sons", just stop. One of the things that made Coldplay great is their ability to change and create different kinds of music without falling into the same rut over and over again. If M&S wrote this song and published it, I will give then the benefit of the doubt. Their music is inspiring and deep and wonderful and resonates with my soul. While this song isn't lyric heavy and is void of that "Folk" sound we love so much, the music still resonates with my soul. I, unlike you, will not be a fair-weather fan. I will appreciate the art, however it may come, for what it is.
Actually, newer Coldplay really does kinda suck. And that's not the bastard hipster in me talking. When great bands gravitate towards the latest pop formula, shit goes downhill terribly quick.
I wish they repeat the bridge for more "Well say something, say something Something like you love me That you wanna move away From the noise of this place"
I think this is an amazingly beautiful song. I have heard many of their songs and this is by far my favorite. ANd I have to agree with Skypost4ever, bands are evolving in their sound. We are no longer children of the past. THis is not your 1990 decade of every song encapsulating the same sound in every song. Musical groups go from being just musical groups to true artists when they can step outside their comfort zone and give their listeners a new and fresh sound. Kudos to Mumford And Sons.
I think anyone who has struggled with their faith in God will fully understand the meaning. We all doubt because we feel God doesn't give us good enough reason to believe in him, we see our faith as a struggle "And I'm climbing over something And I'm running through these walls" and we feel empty in our belief "You may call it in this evening, But you've only lost the night, Present all your pretty feelings, May they comfort you tonight" . We want him to blatantly show himself to us "So open up my eyes Tell me I'm alive" "Say something, say something, Something like you love me" We feel his messages to us are too hard to interpret "This is never gonna go our way If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind" "So tired of misconceiving". He is looking for the answer to spirituality but can't find it in this world "Less you want to move away From the noise of this place" I myself am still in search but I pray God will help me understand one day.
As much as I'm going to miss those banjo solo's and drops I can't wait to hear the rest of their album. I'm loving the new sound! Glad to have you back Mumford & Sons!!
Exactly...is not the personal sound that they usually had, is like a completely different band, where is the magic of Mumford And Sons? I mean..this song sounds good but the old ones sounds AMAZING.
say something say something , something like you loveeee mee, less you wanna move away from the noise of this place 🎶 allll the fkn feels at the moment🥲🔥
Wtf is everyone talking about? I love this!!! You can't just keep rehashing the same sound from the first two albums. You need to grow and progress your style sometimes.
I agree completely. I feel like one album more of the same sound--and it was a great sound--would have been too much, too soon and would have started to become repetitive (and some casual listeners thought it was already). They can always come back to the sound and I think they will eventually. But the first album established their sound and the second polished it to a fine sheen. Now it is time for them establish a new sound, and they are. Which shows they have integrity and know when it is time to change.
Robin Carre Growth is moving on from something you've done in the past... so yes, yes it is. Your second sentence is filled with horrible opinions that mean nothing. You're a fucking moron.
AMAZIIIING!!! THANK YOU MUMFORD & SONS!!! I believe that every band needs to change, And M&S are not the exception! Can you imagine if everyone stayed the same? That's what life's about... CHANGES!
Change is fine. Turning a band that plays acoustic music full of passion and soul into a polished, overdubbed, heavily-mixed pop band with a drum track isn't change, it's criminal.
Hello, wishing things got better. I have struggled through life, I am depressed, sad and think that it may be easiest to end it all. I have thought this for awhile. But I am still here..... why because of God. I keep believing in him and he DOES have a plan for us all. Hang in there❤️I will too with you
Thank you all, things have gotten a lot better since then. I’m a year away from pursing a bachelors degree and the happiest I’ve been. 💜 things do get better
You may call it in this evening But you've only lost the night Preset all your pretty feelings May they comfort you tonight And I'm climbing over something And I'm running through these walls I don't even know if I believe [x3] Everything you're trying to say to me I had the strangest feeling Your world's not all it seems So tired of misconceiving What else this could've been I don't even know if I believe [x3] Everything you're trying to say to me So open up my eyes Tell me I'm alive This is never gonna go our way If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind Say something, say something, Something like you love me Less you wanna move away From the noise of this place Well I don't even know if I believe [x2] I don't even know if I wanna believe Anything you're trying to say to me [x2:] So, open up my eyes Tell me I'm alive This is never gonna go our way If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind
This song is amazing. It makes me cry every time. It invokes lost love, makes me ponder my lost faith, the need to move on, the pain in my life. "I don't even know if I believe, I don't even know if I believe, I don't even know if I believe......just open up my eyes.....tell me I'm alive....this is never gonna go our way." "Say something say something something like you love me......." oh and btw, it's not the girl in the avatar writing this, it's her BF. I never get tired of this song I could listen to it 50x in a row and be okay with it.
It's so beautiful to see the streets light up. The purest sense and stimulus of being with someone you love the most, riding with her in the endless streets, soft wintery breezes tingling your skin, and the only sound you hear being of the cycle you are riding on with her, and the breeze swirling in your ears, and the consciousness of her, the most beautiful girl, try imagining her right now, sitting right behind you. Feel the beauty in those words. I can't make you imagine what I dreamed of, but I know, that whatever you imagine, you will cherish it the most.
At first I honestly was a bit skeptic if I'd enjoy their "new" music, but the more often I listen to it the better it gets and holy shit is it perfect now.
I totally agree with you! Their old music is awesome but this is also great music from a great band! Whatever they will make, it will blow our minds (in a good way)!
yup a different side of "them"... youtube has practically made it impossible for me to like or spend any amount of time listening to the music played on the radio anymore
On an emotional level, I think this is bloody brilliant. Looking at it critically, it's nothing special. However, I've always just Mumford & Sons emotionally, and therefore I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ALBUM SOOOOOO MUCH NOW
***** true that, it feels a bit like I'm enjoying this as much due to the fact that I already love Mumford & Sons, rather than through the song on its own merits (although having listened through to it a couple more times, my ambivalence has turned more into enjoyment). While I an't really just without hearing the rest of the album, it feels a bit like they may still be in the process of finding their new sound, and this could be part of the journey. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
I want this as my funeral song as I am cremated before local hero by mark knopfler as I am a huge Newcastle fan and I am so honoured and privileged to be one so blessed lucky 😊
You need to be really courageous to decide to part from a musical direction that granted you an Album of the Year award. If they were really going to the masses, they would have stayed and done a Babel 2. Instead, they took risks and emerged in a totally new and exciting new sound. Bravo!
This is the moment that you realize that people change, but make good changes, Mumford & Sons has changes, but keep making that beautiful lyrics that makes you, really, but deep really... Alive.
I remember 2009 when people would call Mumford a hipster indie band. Let's all stop calling bands we aren't familiar with "hipster indie bands," okay? Thanks. That being said, I liked the song too :]
Tbh ,I think that Mumford & Son's are going from Strength to Strength as musicians. The video coverage is Brilliant 👏. ( tuned in from Liverpool 🇬🇧 United Kingdom
Life is short. Live life to the fullest. You never know when it can end. Don’t put other people down because it might be the last thing they feel. Bring people up. Don’t hold grudges because they’re not going to matter when your in your death bed. If everyone loved each other the world would be the greatest place ever.
Stop posting about what you dislike and go find something you can enjoy. These guy's are great at what they do, let the real fans enjoy some good music without your B.S!
His voice is like chamomile tea You may call it in this evening But you've only lost the night Preset all your pretty feelings May they comfort you tonight And I'm climbing over something And I'm running through these walls I don't even know if I believe [x3] Everything you're trying to say to me I had the strangest feeling Your world's not all it seems So tired of misconceiving What else this could've been I don't even know if I believe [x3] Everything you're trying to say to me So open up my eyes Tell me I'm alive This is never gonna go our way If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind Say something, say something, Something like you love me Less you wanna move away From the noise of this place Well I don't even know if I believe [x2] I don't even know if I wanna believe Anything you're trying to say to me [x2:] So, open up my eyes Tell me I'm alive This is never gonna go our way If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind
This video makes me so emotional. It takes me back to visiting London in 2015 and getting lost with my best friend late at night after seeing the sights all day. All night we spent roaming these streets and constantly getting on the wrong bus trying to get back to the apartment (sorry, flat). It was one of the best nights of my life.
Wow, a year ago today this song was released. Thinking of where I was and where I am know has been an experience that I would do over and over again. This song for me marked the beginning of something new. Thank you, Mumford and Sons.
They are creating music that a wider audience will like, I'll be upfront and say it's not what I expected, and I'm still not sure if I like it a lot, but I'll have to listen to the whole album when I buy it on may 4th. You can't blame them for doing this, music is their job, they obviously LOVE music, and they are trying out different genres. Have you ever heard of Sting? He has done so many different genres of music I can't even count. And like some other people said, Marcus did the majority of the writing for sign no more and babel, letting the other guys have a crack at it is totally fair, and if it keeps them happy, we will have more Mumford and Sons to come :) so just sit back and enjoy the change of pace.
This song perfectly describes a relationship where you're unsure whether your partner is on the same boat that you're in. You wanna believe that your relationship with your partner is authentic despite that unsettling feeling you get after you find out something about them that leaves you questioning about who they are, who they tell you they are when they're around you, you are now unsure about their loyalty and their love. So you're now trying to break this fence that they've built to hide themselves from you, but you still care about that person to whom you gave all your heart and your trust without any second thoughts, you don't wanna lose them, you're fighting to save this relationship, but you realize that they're not helping you fight this battle, instead they're building even more barriers to hide facts about them about who they're with, about what they've done, about what they are planning on doing. It's really tragic when people play games like this with you. You don't wanna lose them whatsoever, but if they don't care then it's time that you should let them go for your own good. Before it's too late, before things get worse you should end this kind of relationship like I did. Time will heal ya. So thankful Mumford and Sons made this song, it deserves more recognition so it can go to the ears of people who've gone through something like this.
As most people, I was worried about their new direction. But now I feel like a fool for ever doubting Mumford & Sons. This song was great, and I'm excited to hear the rest of the album.
7 years and still takes me back like it was yesterday for the first time, been through alot of downs and it was the thing that kept me up.. I'll never get enough of it.
Who cares if it sounds like "them"? It's a great song! Taylor Swift doesn't sound like "herself" any more but she is still making great music. The best musicians are versatile!
for God's sake using a banjo doesn't make someone a great artist. Thousands of bands that use a banjo never make it. Mumford & Sons made it because they ARE great - with or without a banjo.
The fact that you think Taylor Swift is making 'great music' says pretty much everything anyone needs to know about the type of fans Mumford is now courting...
I lived in London for almost two years. I got into photography whilst I was there. London is different in the nighttime; it manages to be both familiar and strange at the same time. I remember doing this solo photowalk (mostly long exposures) after midnight. I walked from Leadenhall Market, down to Tower Bridge, and then all the way towards Westminster Bridge. This video captures how I feel about London perfectly. Song is amazing, of course. Every time I miss London (which is everyday), I watch this video and it feels like I am doing a photowalk again. Can't wait to be back there this year! :)
This is not a concept of "selling out" this is a band "trying new things, going down new paths" I don't think I or them could deal with another folk, acoustic album I think this is a breath of fresh air and will separate the real fans from the the "wannabe folk fans" who want another I Will Wait song
One of the most beautiful and meaningful songs to have ever written And composed and I’m not just saying this in exaggeration. Takes me to a different universe listening to this late at night and reminds me of the old times. I have number of favorite songs but this might have taken the cake.
I listened this song like 100 times! I can relate to every sentence they use. The lyrics matched every thought and feeling I had for the past three months. Now 6 months further I can love this song because It helped me move on. I am so glad that they excist. It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it, no matter how much I press on replay. Will never get tired of it.
I highly doubt every song will be like this one, personally I liked this single. But I think I'll like the album as a whole even more, like they said in the interview there is going to be variety in this album
you're kidding right? coldplay's albums such as parachutes, rush of blood to the head, viva la vida, and mylo xyloto aren't generic at all. maybe the songs that get over played on the radio but you're overlooking an entire bands discography and library and labeling them as generic from most likely their "popular" songs you've heard. oh and live shows are FAR from generic. but yeah keep telling yourself that because you don't like their sound
I went on a night drive alone and blasted this song with the windows down and felt alive for the first time in a long time. It's amazing how a song can do that to you.
I have done this exact same thing to this song!! It's a great song for windows-down jammin :D
ditto.... I do this frequently in hard times...
I've never been a fan of mumford and sons until I heard this song just recently when I was on holiday!! 🤷🏻♂️
Now I just can't stop listening to it!! It's unbelievable
To me they are a folk band
But this is like folk on steroids 🤷🏻♂️👌
I did this when I lost my dad at the age of 20 this album got me through the hardest darkest times in my life.
To everyone who is reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you're constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind right now.May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life Amen♥

I agree!
Rival Summers There's no courage in losing his originality and becoming bland. I disagree with you. they lost their heart
I agreed it's different but you can still tell it's them. Marcus has the most unique voice and I will love them forever x
I agree!

Ahahaha that's so true, I love their old style but this is a great new sound from then
I love Mumford & Sons but lets be real here for a moment, you could take their first two albums and mix all their songs back to back seamlessly and it would sound like one, hour and a half long song. Which I loved. Now it's time for a change.
god bless this comment
the song is great but is not mumford style
This comment is extremely accurate. They said they would be trying something new with this electric, so yes of course it's different.
I literally cried to this song. I have no idea why.

you expressed that feeling so well. great summary
I love all the hate in the comments. Trying something different for one track of an album is betrayal on astronomical proportions apparently. I think this song is a nice change of pace and I quite like it.
Trying out something different, or trying out everything that's been done in the last decade?
ramkedoodle different for them but the same for some.
I'll still give the album a try, but honest question what do you like about this song?
Loving hate. Made me think about that for a while.
nah it just sucks. so did the other shit.
Honestly its not that bad, I mean Mumford and Sons will always be Mumford and Sons when it comes down to it.
Foken right bud! those who don't like it arent legit mumf fans! MUMF IS MUMF

You may call it in this evening
But you've only lost the night
Preset all your pretty feelings
May they comfort you tonight
And I'm climbing over something
And I'm running through these walls
I don't even know if I believe [x3]
Everything you're trying to say to me
I had the strangest feeling
Your world's not all it seems
So tired of misconceiving
What else this could've been
I don't even know if I believe [x3]
Everything you're trying to say to me
So open up my eyes
Tell me I'm alive
This is never gonna go our way
If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind
Say something, say something,
Something like you love me
Less you wanna move away
From the noise of this place
Well I don't even know if I believe [x2]
I don't even know if I wanna believe
Anything you're trying to say to me
[x2:]
So, open up my eyes
Tell me I'm alive
This is never gonna go our way
If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind

cheers to that Natalie

Actually, newer Coldplay really does kinda suck. And that's not the bastard hipster in me talking. When great bands gravitate towards the latest pop formula, shit goes downhill terribly quick.
I wish they repeat the bridge for more
"Well say something, say something
Something like you love me
That you wanna move away
From the noise of this place"
ikr... its like everything i ever wanted to say
totally

X FM vibes 2018 vibes during my attachment and yet it still feels like yesterday the effect an amazing song has is so shocking ❤
Artist experiment with several different forms art. Musicians are also artist, they experiment with sound.
And what does this have to do with Mumford and Sons?
Robin Carre LOL
Robin Carre they are experimenting with their music by changing up their sound duh
Exactly! The Beatles were constantly switching it up, so why can't Mumford & Sons?
This is a soon to be ; "Timeless Classic" song.
... I think so too.
ximoshu straight up.
Yeah it is similar, but Mumford & Sons has a far better sound. Who else thinks this song sounds like some of the U2 cuts ?
chefgiovanni I
I think this is an amazingly beautiful song.
Daquri Reynolds I agree, and thanks for the shout out lol.
He is looking for the answer to spirituality but can't find it in this world "Less you want to move away From the noise of this place"
I myself am still in search but I pray God will help me understand one day.
As much as I'm going to miss those banjo solo's and drops I can't wait to hear the rest of their album. I'm loving the new sound! Glad to have you back Mumford & Sons!!
I miss the banjo, mandolin and the folk touches! I am the only one?
agreed.i like it but its not the mumford and sons sound that made them
Exactly...is not the personal sound that they usually had, is like a completely different band, where is the magic of Mumford And Sons? I mean..this song sounds good but the old ones sounds AMAZING.
We play banjo! Check out our album & EP: soundcloud.com/thenatterjacks
***** Maybe banjo and others are on the others songs. I hope too.
WaitingSucks1 I hope so!
say something say something , something like you loveeee mee, less you wanna move away from the noise of this place 🎶 allll the fkn feels at the moment🥲🔥
I'm just glad Mumford & Sons is back. I couldn't care less what they play as long as they're playing.
Alan A lol
Wtf is everyone talking about? I love this!!! You can't just keep rehashing the same sound from the first two albums. You need to grow and progress your style sometimes.
I agree completely. I feel like one album more of the same sound--and it was a great sound--would have been too much, too soon and would have started to become repetitive (and some casual listeners thought it was already). They can always come back to the sound and I think they will eventually. But the first album established their sound and the second polished it to a fine sheen. Now it is time for them establish a new sound, and they are. Which shows they have integrity and know when it is time to change.
But this isn't growth. This has been done a million times before and much better.
Robin Carre Growth is moving on from something you've done in the past... so yes, yes it is. Your second sentence is filled with horrible opinions that mean nothing. You're a fucking moron.
Tvawny This isn't growth. It does sound just like every other band in Alt these days. Mumford never sounded like the rest. This isn't growth.
Jenny Holt opinions mean nothing.
AMAZIIIING!!! THANK YOU MUMFORD & SONS!!!
I believe that every band needs to change, And M&S are not the exception!
Can you imagine if everyone stayed the same?
That's what life's about... CHANGES!
absolutely not, change destroys us.
Change is fine. Turning a band that plays acoustic music full of passion and soul into a polished, overdubbed, heavily-mixed pop band with a drum track isn't change, it's criminal.
vince gredo There are always changes in life, whether you like it or not.
Marks & Spencer's?
Emilio Monney AC/DC didnt change.
Believe in yourself! Believe in love! Believe in life!
I'm sitting here crying because I honestly don't know if I Believe anymore. I feel hopeless as if all my faith and hope in everything is lost.
Dear Julia...I hope that since your writing this 2 years ago that things have gotten much better and your faith in the good things has been restored.
Smile lady... There is a whole world out there waiting for you, as ugly as it might get sometimes... Just Believe, believe in yourself most of all!!

You may call it in this evening
But you've only lost the night
Preset all your pretty feelings
May they comfort you tonight
And I'm climbing over something
And I'm running through these walls
I don't even know if I believe [x3]
Everything you're trying to say to me
I had the strangest feeling
Your world's not all it seems
So tired of misconceiving
What else this could've been
I don't even know if I believe [x3]
Everything you're trying to say to me
So open up my eyes
Tell me I'm alive
This is never gonna go our way
If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind
Say something, say something,
Something like you love me
Less you wanna move away
From the noise of this place
Well I don't even know if I believe [x2]
I don't even know if I wanna believe
Anything you're trying to say to me
[x2:]
So, open up my eyes
Tell me I'm alive
This is never gonna go our way
If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind
Kri Swa *Thank you*
This song is amazing.
Agreed. I fall in love more every time I listen. Sign of great art.
agreed this is one amazing song
yeah this album was great
yup a different side of "them"... youtube has practically made it impossible for me to like or spend any amount of time listening to the music played on the radio anymore
nostalgia hits me hard when i listen to this
it really does. I don't even know what about, but the feeling is there
Safwat Khan yesss bro I know what you mean
God, every song they make is absolutely gorgeous. Never change Mumford and Sons! ❤️❤️❤️ you got a fan supporting you all the way!!!
Beautiful , amazing music…..
On an emotional level, I think this is bloody brilliant. Looking at it critically, it's nothing special. However, I've always just Mumford & Sons emotionally, and therefore I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ALBUM SOOOOOO MUCH NOW
***** woah arcade fire well edgy m8 well different
***** true that, it feels a bit like I'm enjoying this as much due to the fact that I already love Mumford & Sons, rather than through the song on its own merits (although having listened through to it a couple more times, my ambivalence has turned more into enjoyment). While I an't really just without hearing the rest of the album, it feels a bit like they may still be in the process of finding their new sound, and this could be part of the journey. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
same. I'm a fan of anything Mumford and sons. First band I ever liked.
This is a phenomenal song.
Bravo!
is anyone else just mesmerized by the video?😍😍
me!!
It reminds me of Snow Patrol "Open Your Eyes"
Katy Mahaffey I love time lapse videos of cars driving, don't know why but I could watch them for hours
I imagine myself driving on a motorcycle playing this song
Katy Mahaffey
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO SEE THEM IN CONCERT. SAW THEM AND HAVE TO SAY ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING BANDS I HAVE TO SAY..
I hope they go to indonesia
This is the moment that you realize that people change, but make good changes, Mumford & Sons has changes, but keep making that beautiful lyrics that makes you, really, but deep really... Alive.
Such a classic. Still get chills now years after first hearing it
Go our way 😢
Never happens the way you want ❤
HOLY SHIT YES!!!!!!! this is just as lyrically and musically sound than they have ever been. Dear hipster indie bands, prepare to be shat on.
Lol..no...
Haha seriously?!
I remember 2009 when people would call Mumford a hipster indie band. Let's all stop calling bands we aren't familiar with "hipster indie bands," okay? Thanks.
That being said, I liked the song too :]
Said while wearing those glasses.........
festdir I need them to see...but i see your point.
Tbh ,I think that Mumford & Son's are going from Strength to Strength as musicians.
The video coverage is
Brilliant 👏.
( tuned in from Liverpool 🇬🇧 United Kingdom
I love this song. 6 years and still listening to it
Life is short. Live life to the fullest. You never know when it can end. Don’t put other people down because it might be the last thing they feel. Bring people up. Don’t hold grudges because they’re not going to matter when your in your death bed. If everyone loved each other the world would be the greatest place ever.
This song came during a terrible time in life and though all those feelings come rushing back i still really like this song.
Keep your head up homie, your not alone during these times , I see you 👍
Same!
Stop posting about what you dislike and go find something you can enjoy. These guy's are great at what they do, let the real fans enjoy some good music without your B.S!
Mumford n sons,still UNDER-RATED!
I cried so much by listening to this beautiful song
Kimberley Talhout ditto
Me too🥺
There’s just something about Mumford and sons
His voice is like chamomile tea
You may call it in this evening

And I'm running through these walls

what is the "chamomile tea"?
+Mystie the wolf artist tea meant to be consumed to sooth your mood and calm yourself
+Damaris Buzea for some reason i began to smell chamomile tea... wtf
+Zachary Price Thats probably weed my friend xD
yepp, i finnaly realied it was my joint.... damn
I wasn't a huge fan of the new album at first, but after listening to each song a thousand times, this album is my favorite of all time!!!
+Jay DC same
Believe :)
I discovered this band by one very special person... That song reminds me of him the most. :)
KarlaElectra same😊
don't attach songs to people, specially songs that you like. its the worst mistake anyone could make
sal I don't care :)
okay Karla as long as you enjoy mumford and sons
my dad when i was a kid used to play them to me every night
Wow, a year ago today this song was released. Thinking of where I was and where I am know has been an experience that I would do over and over again. This song for me marked the beginning of something new. Thank you, Mumford and Sons.
same here
+264aub And today marks the first time I am hearing this song...
"This is never gonna go our way
If I'm gonna have to guess what's on your mind"
He's just spiting out the truth
Couldn't agree more!
Magum i tried putting this down into words but i found that you said it better :) not judging their new album yet, but the new song is growing on me
This song is not long enough. Ugh, I love it!
Daisy Gaeta 😘😎😋😂
Feeling alive is what we all need more of
"so open up my eyes, tell me i'm alive"
y..
+Yuno Gasai 😃
right when i started to read that he said that line
Tell me wont you open your eyes 🖤
"This is never gonna goes your, if I've to guess what on your mind."
As most people, I was worried about their new direction. But now I feel like a fool for ever doubting Mumford & Sons. This song was great, and I'm excited to hear the rest of the album.
I think this is absolutely amazing! As a musician, it is important to keep people interested and experiment, and I think this is wonderful.
Mumford and Sons in my opinion are the most genuine band on the planet! they make songs from the heart and I absolutely love that!
This album got me through a lot. They make amazing music. So talented, love you guys
This is what music is supposed to sound like.
I belieeeveeeeee in a banjo.
Me too
7 years and still takes me back like it was yesterday for the first time, been through alot of downs and it was the thing that kept me up.. I'll never get enough of it.
When a song explains exactly what your thinking/feeling at one moment it can be powerful...thanks Mumford and sons
Jeffrey Dean exactly what I was thinking
Wow, that comment of yours is trash
Dat comment dat grammar though...
Also if you say you don't like blank space, please stop lying to yourself...
ive been all over this song for the past 24 hours
I lived in London for almost two years. I got into photography whilst I was there. London is different in the nighttime; it manages to be both familiar and strange at the same time. I remember doing this solo photowalk (mostly long exposures) after midnight. I walked from Leadenhall Market, down to Tower Bridge, and then all the way towards Westminster Bridge. This video captures how I feel about London perfectly. Song is amazing, of course. Every time I miss London (which is everyday), I watch this video and it feels like I am doing a photowalk again. Can't wait to be back there this year! :)
Mumford and sons best band of all time
No it is Coldplay
I hope they play their old stuff at Reading Festival! Part of the reason I want to go! :(
of course they will! ;)
Martin Jordan I actually don't think so.. If you see their last shows all the songs are from the new album. However, I don't mind.
No, they are only going to play like an hour and a half set with only 45 minutes worth of songs.
This new coldplay song is fantastic!
Dumbass its Mumford and sons
Parry Kids I guess you missed the joke
Well to be fair it was a shitty joke lmao
This sounds nothing like Coldplay
+Zach Friday it was pretty funny
One of my favorites of all time, by these fine Gentlemen. M&S, when are you coming to San Diego?
there is not one Mumford and sons song that I have disliked. I think it's safe to say they're my favorite band.
Kelsey Whitehead ikr
Kayla and the wolves agreed!!!!
This is not a concept of "selling out" this is a band "trying new things, going down new paths" I don't think I or them could deal with another folk, acoustic album
I think this is a breath of fresh air and will separate the real fans from the the "wannabe folk fans" who want another I Will Wait song
This was my love song, will cherish forever.
The way Tompkin Square Park Leeds into this is beautiful.
One of the most beautiful and meaningful songs to have ever written And composed and I’m not just saying this in exaggeration. Takes me to a different universe listening to this late at night and reminds me of the old times. I have number of favorite songs but this might have taken the cake.
this song is amazing says so much about my relationship can't stop listening to it
This song really hits me in the feels and gets me in deep thought. Reminds of this girl I like and she likes me but talks to other dudes.😔
I know that feeling bro.
If u do like her and she likes u ask her out b4 it's to late
Yeah but theirs other things in the way.
92Adzy hey not at least he likes some one kid no one likes little kids like u so fuck off
Alex Price i know that feel man, a girl who will never love you back
I listened this song like 100 times!
London looks like a faraway dream honestly
And here we sit, seeing one of the most daring and bold bands of the current generation turn into some generic Coldplay.
I just can't believe this is the same band that brought us masterpieces like Broken Crown and Babel.
Rafael Madeiro Couldn't agree more!
I highly doubt every song will be like this one, personally I liked this single. But I think I'll like the album as a whole even more, like they said in the interview there is going to be variety in this album
wait, are you saying mumford and sons are daring and bold?
you're kidding right? coldplay's albums such as parachutes, rush of blood to the head, viva la vida, and mylo xyloto aren't generic at all. maybe the songs that get over played on the radio but you're overlooking an entire bands discography and library and labeling them as generic from most likely their "popular" songs you've heard. oh and live shows are FAR from generic. but yeah keep telling yourself that because you don't like their sound
