$60 for a program that transfers files from your old computer to your new computer is ridiculous. ...And the 2 gig limit on the "free" version renders it virtually worthless
If you don't have the software to reinstall on the new computer it might be worth it, especially if it saves your configuration settings. Plus you have to realize that companies don't make money giving away software for free!
Yes it does and does a great job but we are talking about Windows PCs. When you install Windows on a New PC, it will give you the option to transfer your settings and OneDrive files but not your programs which is unfortunate.
Is it bringing over my license keys on all the software I've purchased as well? That warning that I may need to re-install programs tells me that it probably won't.
Does it connect the data to the programs? For example in a business/accounting software the program is one thing and the data directory resides in say C drive but there are steps or routines to be run to connect to the data before one can log in to the program and be able to use the data. I presume whatever steps are needed would still need to be followed according to the program, or, does this transfer app take care of all that?
Does this also include settings in programs? I have Visual Studio Code with several settings associated with it I would prefer not to configure from scratch.
I'm not sure if it would include the settings since it's not a clone of the PC. Maybe you can try the chat option with them and see. www.easeus.com/support-center/livechat-tech.html
I noticed it did not transfer serial numbers? Do i have to redo them all? The whole point in cloning so i dont have to reinstall or find my serial numbers again to some bought programs
Yes but you can use this method and backup to an external hard drive and then attach that to the new PC if you cant use this method. ua-cam.com/video/meIXMaKkfFs/v-deo.html
Few Questions Please: Do you think this program is better than Avica? My old computer has 3 partitions, I want the new one to only have 2. How do I manage that? Do you know if any of these programs also transfer my data from Firefox/ like favorites, add-ons and saved logins and passwords? TIA
I know of the Avica remote control software that does file transfer but that is not the same as what this app will do. If your new computer has the same drive letters it should work but I have not tested it on a computer with data on multiple partitions. It does copy user data so it should copy favorites. You can go to their support page and do a chat and ask them about the partitions. www.easeus.com/support-center/
Thanks for the demo. In a sense, this program gain administrative access upon installation. Scary stuff! Program which you care about are not free to transfer. Microsoft really need to step up in this department
If you mean Google Photos, then that should all be kept online and not locally on your computer. If you have some old legacy Picasa app on your computer then I am not sure where the mapping is stored.
Do not buy this app. I just blew 4 hours watching this piece of crap crash, hover at 17% for over an hour, and not migrate any of the licenses for anything -- requiring me to track down licenses for dozens of apps, plugins, VSTs and more. And it still didn't work. Complete waste of time.
Will the applications and programs still be usable on the old PC? or is it literally moving the data so that the old PC will no longer have anything you choose to transfer? I ask because if it is actually moving and copying over then if something happens in the middle of transferring you could end up with the apps/programs not working on both PCs. Or worse yet a bunch of lost pictures and stuff that may not be able to recover.
It shouldn't affect the apps on the old PC since its just copying them and their settings rather than moving them. As for files, I would always do a backup however you normally do one before running the process just to be safe.
So with this i can transfer all my programs, Games aswell as all data without having to reinstall everything? So I can just continue from where I left off on my computer?
prob dumb question, but my new computer has Win 11 and the old one has Win 7...no problem there, right? The new OS stays, just apps, docs, files and pics, music, etc are transferred

@@OnlineComputerTips After some experimenting with the free version it looks like the 'Data Rescue" option can pull programs and profile data from a windows install that is not booting, aka, 'offline'. You highlighted it in the video at 1:37
You would need to take the drive out of the old computer and either put it in another computer or a hard drive caddy to get your data off of it. That is assuming the drive is still in working condition.
@OnlineComputerTips yes, thank you. That's what I have assumed - manual install of all applications and copying of their settings one folder at time. Yes, the system drive from the old PC is functional.
Then this wont work and you will have to recover your files and reinstall your apps on your new computer. You can take the drive out of your old computer and connect it to the new one to get your files or you can boot to a live Linux CD and recover your files that way. ua-cam.com/video/KVnuW0z5l20/v-deo.html
you don't 'transfer' apps from an old to a new computer - you install them on the new. Two years ago I purchased the $399 codes from this company and they wanted me to tell them how my Raid volumes were configured. Absolutely useless. EaseUS is OK for simple disc interrogations if that's all you need.
You can replace it with a working keyboard and do the process. Windows also has an on screen keyboard under the Ease of Access\Accessibility section of the Windows settings.
My primary goal is to copy two user accounts (profiles). I don’t to have programs copied. Regarding data limits: I understand that the free version has limits. Can I use the free version up to it’s limits and then copy remaining data using a large external drive or a network? I pressed Like and Subscribe. Thank you

You are transferring the data over your home wireless so its not getting uploaded to the company who makes the software. Unless they are doing something sneaky that is!

true! Even phones do this way better, even when transferring from Android to iPhone and vice versa, the process is way easier on phones

Great. Straightforward explanation and demo. Thanks
are you doing 2 different windows versions or the same? just basically moving profile and apps?
It's being done on 2 different computers which are both running Windows 11 in this example.

Ethernet or wireless as long as they are on the same network as in connected to the same router or whatever device you use for your internet.

It is supposed to but I would check with the developer to make sure. They should have contact information on their website.

They will need to be on the same network connection so if they are both connected to your internet\wireless, that should be enough.
