Daryl vs Beta is one of if not the best fight of the show. Seeing Daryl look like a kid next to this giant undead hulk of a monster is crazy and awesome as hell.
Apparently when filming this scene, Norman Reedus was beat up pretty bad. The guy that plays Beta Ryan Hurst also played on Sons of Anarchy. Amazing season ❤
What made Beta even more scary was that he could have killed Daryl when he was holding Daryl’s head against the saw He just wanted to ask about where Lydia is he wasn’t into killing Daryl 100% but Daryl was 100% wanting to kill Beta So in the end I think Beta was slightly holding back.
@@daniig62 idk about Rick sucking at hand to hand, everyone always thinks he loses all his fights, he beat up a ANGRY Tyrese who’s easily twice Rick’s size, when Rick lost to the Governor (who is taller and bigger than Rick) he had got shot in the leg and had an injured hand from beating up Tyrese, Rick actually won his fight against pete who is also bigger than him and Rick was mainly trying not to kill Pete hence why he let the fight get outta hand with the tall angry abusive drunk lol each time he fought Negan, Negan always had a bat plus Negan beat Simon to death with his bare hands who was a muscled up crazy guy himself. Rick has only lost cause he was injured or outplayed or frankly not trying to outright kill the person, never was he out skilled imo

Beta is freaking HUGE Did you see how he was taller than the door that he used it as a shield And look at his KNIVES those things were huge compared to Daryl’s He’s such a beast Daryl only won that fight because his speed and agility beat Beta’s strength and height otherwise he would’ve died because Beta was literally tossing Daryl like a rag doll and I loved that they showed a little more of Connie’s fighting and navigational skills along with Dog Great episode and Great reactions Jason And Chance.
This is unrelated to this episode but I cant believe I went forever without knowing a stunt man died on set I think when the guy with the burnt face pushed him. I would have thought that would have been huge news back in the day.

The group of renegade Saviors who Dianne was referring to was Jed’s group and Carol burned them alive in 9x06 which is why she said no this isn’t them.
My biggest problem with the Daryl VS Beta fight is how they hold their knives, if either of them was actually seriously invested in ending the other they wouldn't be wielding their knives backwards - you have to stab deep and draw the blade through to eviscerate - Negan did it properly with Spencer and Davy.
Daryl is using a reverse grip ('ice pick grip' but with the bladed edge up). A reverse grip allows for a better grip on the handle, more power and better blocking, it also somewhat protects the forearm and hinders the wielder from having their own knife redirected into their neck and face. A forward grip allows for finesse and a longer reach, which would allow Daryl to slash Beta's hands and arms but that's about it because Beta's arm span is considerably longer as he's much bigger than Daryl is. A longer reach would be pointless as Daryl needs to be in Beta's personal space anyway to have a chance of doing any significant damage.
We got some really good Daryl and Connie moments Lydia and Henry moments and also got to see Daryl vs Beta what an episode. Also got to meet The Highwaymen who I’m still surprised switched up so quickly at the thought of seeing a movie lol.
So you tell me When The next ep beta Went to Alexandria And a Gunshot didnt hurt him because of the :armor: While Daryl stabbed him near the chest with a small knife😂
