Wow! These videos have been like x10 more interesting than I was expecting! Outstanding concepts and truths taught in a relatable way. Thank you so much for sharing this passion with us. Now when I hear President Nelson say, “think Celestial”, it has a much deeper meaning.
Thank you so much for these videos. They have allowed me to see why living a celestial life is so important. Your vídeo series along with Elder Holland's April 2024 Conference address has me completely standing up in my stirrups.
W cleansing the eyes, it’s not only what I look at, but how I look at it (from a worldly perspective or w an eternal view); how I look at others (as Heavenly Father’s chldrn who might be hurting & possibly behaving according to that pain or do I view them as objects who inconvenience me - I-it or I thou thinking explained in Anatomy of Peace). Something the Spirit taught me once was Celestial thinking is never ego-centric … we’re to see others by how we affect them instead of by how they affect us… I recognize I’m not doing that when I’m triggered & “react” to someone else’s actions or words instead of trying to see it from their perspective first… and responding kindly, even if I’m just explaining how I’m thinking and what, how, & why I feel the way I do.
I try to listen to this every once in a while and I’m blown away by how much I’ve learned about the temple. Thank you so much! My son goes through the temple soon and I’m exited to share some things with him🥰
I don't think any of us will ever be perfect enough in this world not to have not have bad thoughts about somebody even just a little bit, we're still invited to go into the temple as long as we are striving and trying to do our hardest, we might have those thoughts but they will start to become more perfect the more we go to the temple with the absolute purest of intentions of doing so. If we are truly truly striving not to have negative thoughts and to love our enemies and all of the higher law, we should be going to the temple and don't think of ourselves as not welcome into the celestial room. Maybe cleansing our eyes is also to change the way we see things. To see how Christ would see?
I think you missed his subtle point of symbolism, what is said about the prayer circle? It’s symbolic of what we are striving for, not our fallen world reality. We are still all striving to live Celestial law in our fallen nature. And yes, hence we have repentance and are invited to continue going to the temple.
Of course we should be using the Temple to move from the terrestrial 'living room' of our spiritual plane into the celestial throne room of God, regardless of how we're feeling that day (Temple worthiness being the minimum requirement). The point he's making is that as we practice accepting the invitation and look towards the celestial 'room' of our eternal progression in the now, we are aiming to cleanse the inward vessel. You said it very well. Also, the only specific place in which we are invited to withdraw once in the Temple is in the prayer circle of the presentation of the endowment... and that is ONLY IF....there is another member of the prayer circle to whom our harbored ill feelings would be directed towards; and this simply so that the Spirit of the Lord will be unrestrained for EVERYONE in the room. I think what he was alluding to in the video, is that a celestial state of being is not something the Lord can do for us entirely on His own. We have to WILL for it and keep that other part of our covenant relationship with Him. Certainly if I spent the whole day feeling angry at my wife, thinking I'm justified in my anger at her because she did something unfair towards me and therefore it's only fair that I'm upset at her, I'd be much better off just listening to the words of the prayer that day and not pretending that I'm filled with the Spirit as I repeat the words of the prayer at the altar next to her. It's also ok if I think she may be upset at me to still go up to the prayer circle without her as an invitation for her to come up and forgive me, and if she doesn't come up, I know I'm still in the dog house 😂...but in all seriousness, I do think it's extremely important, as you pointed out, to come to the place of the temple regardless of where we are in our own 'terrestrial living room' especially if we're maybe feeling a bit stuck in our progression, because as was pointed out in the video, the Temple is a place where we can go to find a safe haven and peaceful enough place to practice accepting the invitation of getting ourselves out of the terrestrial "eye for an eye" mindset, and into the place of celestial presence with the Lord. As we do so He can carry us to that place, and we can carry that presence of mind and heart with us as we leave. There is nothing wrong, as he stated and as you have also articulated, with coming to the Temple in a terrestrial mindset with terrestrial heart, but the invitation towards a celestial mindset and a celestial heart is the law by which the Lord constantly invites us to live by, and through Him, we can get better and better at yoking ourselves to Him and staying there in that very present and glorious place of being. Sitting out during the prayer circle is not a shameful or bad thing whatsoever! It's very refreshing to just sit and listen to the true order of prayer at the altar and contemplate what's actually taking place in its order to try to feel the Spirit. And even though we may be in a perplexed and distressed state of being, and it's because of my spouse or whoever else may be in attendance at the temple (perhaps another ward or stake member I've had ill feelings or disagreements with and they were there too and happened to be in the prayer circle), at least we are still worthy to come into the Temple and find safety and peace, and leave with more peace than when we came in (hopefully having found that celestial peace in our hearts where we forgive all terrestrial unfairness and let it go). I'm so grateful for the Lord's House as a place to feel what celestial peace feels like. A place to practice forgiving 'unfairness' and leaving the imperfections of others (and myself) at the feet of the Savior. It truly feels like home.
...elder holland mentioned how our mind is like a stage...bad thoughts, negativity about someone's behavior, & such, can ENTER onto the stage of our minds, then WE CHOOSE whether or not to entertain those thoughts, or to cast them out - I've been following president nelson's counsel to "think celestial" by casting negative thoughts out - by saying to myself, "i choose to follow the prophet of GOD...depart in the name of JESUS CHRIST...🌿🌼🌿🌼🌿.p.s...changing the very thought changes my focus from negative to positive...
Wonderful video, I appreciate this so much thank you for sharing your knowledge. I received my Endowment last week at the Newport Beach Temple and now love the Temple. So much to learn moving forward, you videos help 👍
My great niece has just received her Temple Ordinances and is preparing to serve a Mission.. she takes every opportunity to attend the Temple and I have recommended she follows your lessons Brother Bryce … thank you for enlightening me .. God bless
I know it is late into your video. Has been so enlightening. Just found you and really find your casts so enlightening. Have listened to Elder Holland and others on suicide. I think your opinion would be, to me, worth a comment... or video. Your incites have my attention. Would love to hear them. Been widowered twice. First by bad health, second, by suicide. It has been a very bad journey with the suicide. I loved them both, sealed to each. Dought I'll make it to either one. But will try. Love
Wash eyes to see things differently. To change the way we look at everyone and everything. Seeing people as God see them, including ourselves. But it's not so much about what we will receive but what we can DO and become by seeing things the way God does. We can not only see things as God does but more importantly we can then shine HIS light, BE his the light, him the candle stick, us the flame to bring light to the in darkness in us and from us to "light the world". If we can be light to those who are in the "terrestrial", we are showing them God. Some may reject it, that's their choice, but some may feel that warmth and maybe start to defrost a little
Just a clarification- it is God that transforms Me Into a new creature- I can’t do that On my own- I can only offer a broken heart and a contrite spirit and my obedience and sacrifice - he makes the transformation - only He can do it!
Very true, and that can’t be over emphasized. We do need to remember, however, that it’s a partner relationship and he can’t do everything. He cannot transform me unless I make the decisions which will allow him to do so. I love that Pres. oaks declared in the last conference: “We have a loving Heavenly Father who will see that we receive every blessing and every advantage that our own desires and choices allow.”
I have found this to be the ultimate expression of agency. It blew me away as a young 20 something year old that I held sway over the Omnipotent God. He could save me from anything EXCEPT myself unless I invited Him. Unless I stepped into 2-way give & take with the Savior. Only my choice of Him allows Him to save & heal me. Powerful agency is, both for & against us. We will land, ultimately, where we choose & are most comfortable. His place, or somewhere else.
How does this Celestial mindset manage competitiveness? I ask this question in couched in the notion of a “captain. Moroni” background and the broad brush of “the great and dreadful day of the Lord” that we are either in or approaching. Captain Moroni says he was not want to raise up arms against his fellow man but did a lot of it. Enoch Zion sent to elders to offer up the signs and command a mountain to fall on an entire army. By definition this is harming another and could be considered telestial. I felt at the end of my career as a competitive athlete that I suddenly played my best and surprisingly had spiritual gifts available to me on the pitch when I focused my desire to play the best I possibly could rather than I have to beat the opponent. I guess by default I was taught not to compete with the opponent rather than to compete with myself if that makes any sense. The pod cast signs the two lad’s suggest that in the last days we will have to win the wars and battles with love (whatever that means) and not with stored guns ammo and food as so many are want to do. My experience competing as an athlete and what I’m hearing you say in this lecture seems to support this notion that navigation the last days will be done best by individuals, families and groups that have a celestial character of love but the natural man in me that’s doesn’t seem to want to die and I have to compete with every day seems to logically contradict your teachings here. I would appreciate your sage thoughts on this if you would please Thank you
Dear Brian; I don't think it has to be either/or. why can't both be correct?... Enoch/Captain Moroni and this Brother Bryce...Depending on the event in our lives. As a Latter Day Saint we all try to be as kind, loving, sharing, as possible,.... but at the same time as instructed via our Apostles and the Book of Mormon there is no need to be a doormat or accept abuse or see someone else do it and say or do nothing. So I think both can exist together.
Kevin's brother, There is no competition against another in the celestial realm, nor likely any competition against another in the terrestrial. The natural man seeks for position above another. I don't need to be better than you at anything, I need to be better than I was before: yester; day, month, or year. There is no "first place" after the mortal. Moses fasted 40 days and 40 nights, Elijah didn't need to fast 41, and Christ 42.
Are you not pointing out the difference in purpose and intent? Would you suggest that violence be brought upon us without defense, or fighting for a noble cause? Are we intent on harming or killing others for pleasure or evil purposes, or is there a noble cause, such as defending the remaining people who will continue on in righteousness? The lessons here focus on what our intent and desires are, not that we'll abstain from a terrestrial response. For instance, I have a wife who is very terrestrial in her thinking. She will act in revenge for a perceived slight. She will lash out in judgement, telling me why I'm doing X or Y (and she's totally wrong). I try to explain that I'm not going to do that type of thing because that's not who I am. She no longer attends the temple either. And she's tried at times to interfere with my ability to attend the temple. But I've come to a point where I say *I* need to go to the temple. And I'll just go. The choice is hers to have that desire or even to renew her recommend. There's a desire component here. Nephi had no desire to kill Laban, but he was told he must for a greater cause. Again, what is our desire and intent?
But as a Terrestrial I would not hurt anyone whether they hurt me,I wish your Book of Revelation was face to face, love your channel! As you just stated. 😉
Maybe not resisting evil is also important, when we think of evil as a specific person or specific people, and they happen to come to us we shouldn't resist them, like we should take that opportunity to show them the love of God as well as not returning evil. And loving our enemies also gives us a chance to show these people the love of God through us and therefore hopefully invite them into the love of God as well. As important it is to change the inside of us, changing the inside of us really doesn't do as much good in the world if we don't let that light shine for others to see and especially those in darkness therefore we should not resist shining our light to the darkest places if it's so happens we have that opportunity
Etymology of "resist": late 14c., resisten, of persons, "withstand (someone), oppose;" of things, "stop or hinder (a moving body);" from Old French resister "hold out against" (14c.) and directly from Latin resistere "to make a stand against, oppose; to stand back; withstand," from re- "against" (see re-) + sistere "take a stand, stand firm" (from PIE root *sta- "to stand, make or be firm"). Of attacks, invasions, etc., 1530s. Related: Resisted; resisting.
Thank you for all your insights on Symbols. So if Telestial people are those who hurt others what was Christ when he turn the tables of the money changers even whipping them or when he called the sagittarius children of the Devil. What think you about that behavior that Christ did or said in the scriptures. We are just a little confused.
Read Moses 7 to see how a celestial person administers justice. There’s a major difference between violence and justice. I guarantee Jesus did not have anger in his heart like most telestial people do when they are acting out. Being celestial doesn’t mean we do not administer justice when it is needed. I think Captain Moroni was as celestial man as you’ll find, and there was a time he had to lift up the sword and defend his people. Even the bloodshed. But as you read the description of him, he was very reluctant to do so. It’s obvious to me that in his heart, he didn’t have the same emotions that Telestial people show when they are violent.
When Jesus Christ overturned to the money tables, he did not physically harm anyone, so this was not a telestial activity. He did not physically whip any person. He used a whip to get their attention. He accurately identified certain wicked people for who they really were. There’s nothing telestial about that. Other contrary, his actions were celestial.
I can’t wait till I go back to the temple with this new knowledge.
What a phenomenal lesson
Listening to this on the day my 1-pound baby niece was born gives extra special meaning.

These lessons are so good! Thank you, Brother Bryce!
I love the comparisons you make. You have really helped me understand what is going on in church and in the temple.
Goodness I love this!😊

Stay tuned. Class number eight addresses that very truth.
The temple is the best place to sift out the negative thoughts and see as God sees. It’s like weeding a garden. It must be done frequently.
