  • DIY Replacement of fog light on 2019 Honda CR-V. I also included a video on how I put protective coating on the fog lights afterwards. Call the dealership to get the part number of the fog light. They will probably ask for a VIN of your car. This is because CR-Vs were made in different areas and might have used different part numbers. Google or Amazon the part number they give you and go from there.

    Thanks for the video..I just did this on our 2018 CR-V. Extra tips: 1) put vehicle on ramps or jack stands to make it a bit easier. 2) Underneath the foglight area is plastic plate has two round trim fasteners...pop those off, and the bottom plate can bend out of the way, which makes it even easier to access the screws, along with the removing the front trim plate. 3) I removed one screw using a drill with a 90-degree bit adapter, but probably not worth the trouble...just stick to a stubby screwdriver. They're not all that tight. 4) Do this in a well lit area, and have a flashlight or two handy. 5) As poster mentioned, take off the two lower screws, then twist the assembly to easily get to the top screw.
    All in all, this took maybe 45 minutes, to include moving cars around, jacking up car, and cleanup. Piece of cake.

      You sir, are awesome. You save me a crap ton of time with this advice. Not all heroes wear capes!

      Yes! Popping the trim fasteners on the plate below, is the key first step. After doing that, I could reach from below into the back side of the plastic trim piece. I used my fingers to push aside the retaining clips from that angle, and that allowed removal of the trim without a pry tool.
      Then, just a stubby Philips, and the rest was easy.
      I didn’t use ramps or jack stands. I did have to lie on my back to get my hand up behind the fog light.

    Thank you so much for this video!! I have a 2017 Touring. Getting to those screws was a real pain in the butt! The Amazon fog lights were a perfect fit, and much cheaper. It was even better to replace the housing around the fog light so that looks brand new also rather than just the fog light! Again, thanks, it was extremely helpful!

    My fog light shattered on my new CRV. They quoted me $500 to replace. I found your video and replaced it myself. I saved a lot of $$$. Thank you. P.S. I’m a lady lol

    This is a great video. Thanks for posting. Saved me a lot of $$, rather than going to a dealer.

    Great video, helped me replace the driver side assembly on my 2017 EX-L in about 45-60 min (figuring out the trim took the longest)! To better get at the housing screws you can take the 2 trim retainer clips off underneath and the first screw in the wheel well (like if you were only replacing the fog light bulb) making getting at the 3 housing screws with a magnetic #2 little stubby screwdriver super easy. Also makes putting it back in easy. Also (at least form me) putting the trim back in was a SOB, you definitely need to do it at an angle (make sure everything is lined up, first get the bottom 2 clips in, at the same time slide it in at an angle to get the far end clips engaged, then the top. If you engage the end clips without first getting the bottom in they'll never slide in since the bottom are angled (my mistake). Anyway, this was a great video and an helped me since outside of replacing my oil and filters I have no car DIY experience. $61 vs a few hundred at the shop. Thanks!

    Thanks for video. 2018CRV White also! Hardest part for me is working in that tiny area with right size Phillips. I removed the bottom also. Magnetic tip screw driver would have come in handy. These cars are like one big Pile of plastic, what a shame. Everything gets so easily damaged.

    I'll be using your video to change mine. The dealer wanted 400 for the job. I paid around 69 for the part, so I'll be doing it myself.

    Thanks so much for the video. I have a Honda CR-V 2019 and one of the fog lights cracked as well as yours and I'm looking to replace that as soon as I can before winter starts. Also. Would you mind letting me know what is the part number in case I look to buy the OEM part rather than the aftermarket one? What was the price difference?
    Thanks for your help!!

      I know your question is old and you personally probably are no longer interested in the answer. But maybe for a future visitor…
      Part Number
      33950-TLA-A21
      Part Name
      Fog Light Assembly, L Front
      Price $64.39
      Greenway Honda of Florence
      Arrived in 3-4 days
      $14 shipping to Washington state.
      This was just the new light, including the bulb, and the lens + backing assembly which is a single unit. No bracket or screws or trim or wiring were included.
      I used this to replace a light with a shattered lens.

      You can always try Amazon- I've had pretty good luck with them. Find out what the name of your damaged part is (i.e. fog light housing) and go from there. You can always google the part as well, best bet is if you can get the exact part number as well.

    Is there enough space to change the bulb by removing the plastic?

    • @dinochiesa3787
      @dinochiesa3787 Місяць тому

      If you only want to replace the bulb, and not the lens assembly, you can do it without removing the trim piece. There is a “door” beneath the car that you can release , to reach the back of the fog light with your hand. Then just disconnect the wiring clip, and rotate the bulb out of the socket. You won’t be able to see what you’re doing; you would do it only by feel.

    Hi, is it possible to adjust fog lights height of 2017+ CR-V s ?

    • @stevek.9424
      @stevek.9424 4 роки тому +1

      I just checked...yes, there is an adjuster screw for height. Need a 5mm hex bit to adjust via a very shallow plastic hex head.
