When Hank makes the comment about writing his children's names on their toys, the scene where Woody shows Andy's name written on the bottom of his boot, to show that he belongs to Andy, popped into my minds view. Then I pictured myself wearing my own shoes with the name Jesus written on the bottom of every pair! ❤

Wow! I love all the temple connections so far!
Also John! 16:16 He has written us! Through our patriarchal blessings plus constant companionship with the Spirit as his living Prophets teach to the needs of our day.

The response... Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

I started my CFM study this week feeling frustrated and confused by what I read. After listening to this discussion I feel so differently. My heart is full of gratitude for the simplicity of the message in Revelation now. As we study the remaining chapters, this information will be so helpful. Thank you very much. Wonderful guest!!

I am feeling prepared and inspired and confident that I will remember Jesus Christ throughout this month studying the book of Revelation and renewing my covenants each Sunday. This Sunday afternoon I’m also going to write down the letter that I feel Heavenly Father might write to me, what He knows, what He could be pleased with, what warmings He might give me, and the counsel I have felt from Him so often in my life, and the rewards that may be appropriate for me as I overcome by daily repentance. And I’m going to keep chapters one, four and five handy to remind myself that Jesús is there in chapters six through 21 and that Jesus Wins,.

At about 15:40 Dr. Frederick talks about Heavenly Father writing an epistle not only to all the congregations but to every individual as well. He mentions that the letters would include His knowledge of our struggles, failures, successes and strengths.
It occurred to me that every time we feel the influence of the Holy Ghost in whatever capacity He comes, we are essentially receiving a letter from God that says “I know _____.”
I am so thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost in my life. He is truly life changing as He functions within His role in the Godhead to bring me to Christ and ultimately to Heavenly Father.

Met an Egyptian orthodox ma n on a mission who has been searching for the meaning of revelations, we gave him a book of mormon which was the only answer we could give. This has been awesome, thanks again.

I’d been thinking about Dr. Frederick’s comment about the timing of chapter 5, saying that many Bible scholars think it was pre-mortal, but he thought it was after the Ascension. During the Sacrament today, I realized I agree with him because it was after His death and resurrection that His mission was perfect and complete. Like the contrast between Matthew and 3 Nephi “therefore be ye perfect.”perfect.

I've always struggled with understanding the angel's question to Nephi, "know ye not the condescension of God?"
But I'm beginning to be able to put it into my own words because of our greater study of the OT last year-
And it really hit me - the condescension of God is symbolically represented by the Lion and the slain Lamb.
And thus, in the millennium, these are reconciled: and the Lion and Lamb shall lie down together.

I've taught my children that "the condescension of God" is not a what, but a who, and that "who" is Jesus Christ.

The question is not what was John trying to tell us, but what was God trying to to tell John and us. There are so many manifestations of Jesus Christ supporting his faithful and fulfilling the Father's plan.

The message of Revelation is that Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer through every trial or calamity in the past, the present, and at the end of the world. He has overcome and sits in his Father's throne and invites us to follow him to sit with him in God's throne, as represented by the 24 Elders.

As always, loved what I learned from Dr. Nick! I do have one comment about the 7 promises made to the 7 churches… I often wondered how one overcomes (I assumed you need to overcome the world or the natural man). This time, reading 1John 5:4-5 I realized that John explained it!
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Yes? And this made me wonder if some of the members who received those letters asked him some questions and John wrote that letter in answer?

Lehis dream is truly a guide for our day! The Iron rod is so very important! I feel like if we as a church, (individually and collectively) held to the rod, our "letter" would be much closer to the one given to Smyrna rather than Sardis.

John is not selecting any of these symbols. GOD is the author. John is the audience and faithful recorder of what God chose to present. We must remember that Nephi saw these symbols 600 years earlier, so Revelation is not a product of the first century fron chapter 4 on.

8:20 Apparently, the city of Laodicea did not have a useful water supply of its own to draw from like the two neighboring cities. Hierapolis from the north had hot springs and Colossae from the south had cold water, ideal for drinking. They were quite literally neither cold nor hot.
