Thank you for making such easy to understand content. You helped me get from being a 13th man two years ago to a 14 and 14 player last season. Gonna try to get that up to 20 this season. Keep grinding man! Love the vids!
In transition I like going to the in and out or bump euro, and both are great moves not only in transition, but in the entire game. Great vid thanks for the advice!
Thank you Tucker. We had a tournament and I had amazing performances from 3 and was really proud of myself! I had all that because of you m8. Thanks a lot❤
@12:04 ... 👀 The hoook ! Love it, man! Such an underrated shot. I'm tired of trying to get guys to take it, I don't even bring it up anymore. Study of players scoring without an athletic advantage will for sure indicate that the hook should be learned. Watch enough Adrian Dantley or Steve Nash and you can see exactly how it fits into a face up game. Good work !
Another great video tuck, I've already been using a couple of things in the video, but as always there's something for me to work on, probably mainly my off ball movement and screen usage. I've got the first game of the season tomorrow night, so first opportunity for a while to put your advice into practice.
Thank you my guy! Good luck tomorrow, remember to try and be assertive and aggressive. It isn’t about how many points you score, but changing your mentality.
@TuckerRichardson game 1 didn't go as well as I hoped, I wasn't getting the ball as much as I would like, and I was just struggling to grip the ball on my drives Hopefully can work on that a bit for next week's game
Thanks for making this video. Most times in games i play i pass the ball when i have a scoring opportunity because i sometimes feel very much pressure. But if the game is already decided i feel free and i score the most then. When i slowly dribble the ball towards the top off the key and my teammates aren't open, my go to move is a delayed between the legs. The defender often shifts to the opposite side im driving. Sorry for the long comment. (btw im from scandinavia and im 12)
Thank you for all of you videos Tucker. I’m a freshman in high school and tryouts are this week. Your videos have helped me become a better player. What are 3 things I should focus on the most throughout tryouts?
Great question, and I recently made a video on tryouts. I would focus on being aggressive so you can stand out, be an active listener with the coaches to show you can absorb information, and do all the controllables really well (talk on defense, box out, go for offensive rebounds, etc.)
@@TuckerRichardson Yes sir! I actually was just watching that video this morning! I will most definitely take those into account. Thank you for the advice!
Question what is a highschool and college basketball training week like Monday through Sunday How many weight room days How many days of practice How many days completely off in order to get work done and rest and recover?
It all depends on the week. Let's say you play Wednesday and Sunday. Practice/lift Monday, practice Tuesday, play Wednesday, off Thursday, lift Friday, practice Saturday, play Sunday. That would be a normal schedule, at least when I was at Colgate.
Hey Tucker, just want to say I love the channel man, and I just wanted to leave a comment because I could really use some of your advice for my future. I'm sure that you have made videos before that could help me, but I just can't seem to find them, and I was really hoping you could make one dedicated to this topic. So I am an 18yr old in college and I have decided to drop out after this semester because I didn't make the basketball team for walk-on tryouts, anyway with this decision I have started training harder than ever before because I plan on trying out for a European professional team in a couple months and your videos are a big help as to what I should be doing. But I am making this comment as a request for you to make a video or even just a simple comment as to how I should carry on about this journey and the best ways of training for professional play (incase i do make it) because I am honestly extremely nervous about how this journey could end up going. Keep up the great videos much love man
My tryouts are in 12 days, my school team is the top team in my state Nevada. Theres gonna be over 100 kids trying out and everyone on varsity are D1 prospects, I’m going into my 3rd year with no confidence and last year I didn’t score a single point on jv. I really wanna compete in varsity. I’ve been watching your videos for the past year and they helped me really well. I just feel like I lack the confidence to help me move forward
In that competitive environment, you really have nothing to lose. You have have to go to those tryouts and be assertive and aggressive, not worrying about results. You got this, don't be so hard on yourself!
Thank you for the video sir but I do have a question for you, how do shift my mind from being passive to aggressive? I struggle with this a lot. There’s times were I play aggressive but most of the times I play passive. This is what I need to work on before tryouts. I know I’m the most skilled player but I struggle to use my moves. I know when to use it because I have the iq but my mental blocks me from performing well.
Yeah it’s tough. You have to constantly be looking to score, constantly trying to make plays. So even if you get stopped, you at least give yourself an opportunity to make a play. As opposed to just moving the ball and not looking to score.
I had a game today and scored 15 points while being super inefficient but made up for it by having 5 blocks and 3 steals even though we won I wasn’t happy with my performance because I know I can do better than that do you have any advice to be a more efficient 3 level scorer? Im 5’8 and 13 and very lanky but not very fast.
Hey man do you have any recommendations for injury recovery or how to use a pool for recovery. It'll be great video idea and I wanna average 20 ppg. Thanks
Everytime I play pick up at a rec centre I always manage to put up 7-10 made shots in 5v5 pick up but in real games like school or aau Im always scared to drive and even miss wide open shots do you have any tips to fix that?
Hmmm...why do you think this shift happens? To stop being scared of taking shots, you have to stop being so caught up in a result of a play. So if it goes in or not. You need to focus on whether or not you made the right play. And it almost every case, taking a wide open shot, regardless of the outcome, is the right play.
Our team is short . So my coach put me at 4(power forward). I’m 5,7 and wanna to be become a point guard or 2 and 3. I only developed a guard moves. I want to play basketball seriously, but think that I can’t success as 5,7 power forward. What should I do?
Sounds like you are very young, so you still have a lot of time to work on your guard skills and play guard. As long as you aren’t just standing under the basket and you can do things from the perimeter in games, you will most likely continue to improve your guard play!
It isn’t the end of the world, but if you can shoot 3s you will give yourself a way better opportunity to play at the next level, that is just the truth.
I have a basketball tryout in 3 days. I am really nervous and when Im nervous I play terribly. Im a freshmen and I dont make the team I will not be able to play a d1 level
I have played with short players, tall players and all in between over the years. Size doesn’t mean you can’t make it to the next level, so if you love the game, keep grinding!
