You're very quiet dude, ty for the tips tho. i just restarted Torchlight 2 after buying it on Steam, i've already gathered so many unique's for other classes like Eng that i'll prob never play as i'm trying out the Enhanced Classes Dread Pirate class which is really cool) So i just whack 4 into the transmuter and get a chance and getting something sick for my class.
there is a guy you can remove gems from, or upgrade gems, you have to get a little bit into the game first before you get them , i think they are like raccoons or something

I believe they are just random drops. maybe use the mapworks

***** Remove a gem and destroy an item to recover a socketed gem NPCs are there in Act 1 town from the start.
Why put points in strength? Perhaps items give you the strength...
you're a mage, you're not supposed to hit monsters in the first place :p.
