Matt and Burk write shitty scripts, but are cheap to hire, therefore Sony lets them write pretty much any movie in whatever the fuck this universe is supposed to be, without any ambition other than profit and embracing the fact that these movies are made fun of rather than appreciated. What's funny about the Raul Julia comparison, if they had kept the comic character design, that of crazed, shoeless, homeless guy in a tattered 3 piece suit, the character would have been the PERFECT vehicle for a theater trained actor to come in and just chew the scenery to bits. But that would have required better writers, casting, and foresight and self reflection on the part of the director.
I work at a local theater in a small city of 27,000 people. Opening night, 16 people at the first screening, 0, yes, zero at the second. Theater hold 112 people.

My girlfriend forced me to go to this movie and I ended up really enjoying it. Haters gonna hate. She then told me that the reason why she wanted me to go to this movie so bad(paid for everything), was that she was hearing really bad reviews on it and thought that I would think it was funny with how bad it was. Turned out good. I’m a bit of a major movie snob and I hate pretty much everything in theatres, to the point I don’t even bother looking at what’s playing anymore(Oppenheimer was torture), so I had never heard about this movie, and she told me not to look at any of the posters or anything that would tip me off to what we were about to watch, we also entered the movie five minutes late so that I purposely missed the title screen. It was good

I stopped the movie with 30 frikken minutes left to watch some revirlews.. i paused the movie at 70 mins and was like.. what do you mean im already an hour and 10 mins in... Jeremy.. i was ready to walk out of my own living room at 3 mins in, when she was all.. strong independent female, so sweetly thanking her protector for bringing her an umbrella...

My girlfriend forced me to go to this movie and I ended up really enjoying it. Haters gonna hate. She then told me that the reason why she wanted me to go to this movie so bad(paid for everything), was that she was hearing really bad reviews on it and thought that I would think it was funny with how bad it was. Turned out good. I’m a bit of a major movie snob and I hate pretty much everything in theatres, to the point I don’t even bother looking at what’s playing anymore(Oppenheimer was torture), so I had never heard about this movie, and she told me not to look at any of the posters or anything that would tip me off to what we were about to watch, we also entered the movie five minutes late so that I purposely missed the title screen. It was good

Tahar Rahim is incredible in A Prophet. A masterpiece which someone like you JJ should definitely watch.
Favorite Valentine's Day movies Sense and Sensibility (1995 version), Pride and Prejudice (2005 version) and Far and Away. I'd also throw in "You've Got Mail" but I watch that movie so often it's not just a good one for Valentine's Day for me.
