This song is by far the best off the album and one of the foos best songs ever. The pre-chorus and chorus are just perfect, with the versus having a great bass line and the entire song having great drums. Dave sings so perfectly on this track!
+Anthony Stuart I think Joe must've felt very comfortable with the Foos because there is a kinda eagle-ness about them. Glenn frey would've loved to play with the Foos as well as he always wanted to be in a rock band, rather than a psuedo-country band. Joe Walsh is a perfect fit.
Came over my shuffle in my car after leaving the gym, having decided to better my own health and just hearing of the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins, the most stellar virtuoso of a drummer the band could ever have hoped for, and a truly underrated musician. Lost for words, but listening has given me a little more to say; enjoy your time and give it your all. Do your own thing and find those who will be delighted to share in that. And whatever you believe about the mysticism of things and the nature of what we don’t understand- it’s a little more percussive now on the other side. RIP Taylor. You’ll be missed, but you’ve left a world of craft behind in your memory.
Oh, there is a long way for you to find dozens songs underrated but many of these artists somehow don't mind + number of views is both important and not. Reuploading music @YT has stolen many likes
Are you kidding? Joe Walsh is AMAZING! I love this song! It came out when I was living in Coachella Valley and had the amazing experience of running into Dave Grohl and the band.
"Outside" There you are dancing at your altar Beautiful earthling, blessed in Kashmir All your sound echoes through the canyons Down below they're dreaming Hear the sirens screaming Another time, another world Girls were boys and boys were girls Finding glitter in the litter Like a haunt, it's got to move Everybody needs some room There's something out there There's a long straight road, out of the cold And we can leave it all behind I wanna get outside, baby, let's get outside I wanna get outside, outside, of me All I found, the space between the spaces Standing in the nothing, and time reclaims you And as the wind will beat you down And the wind the only sound There's something out there There's a long straight road, out of the cold And we can leave it all behind I wanna get outside, baby, let's get outside I wanna get outside, outside, of me There's a long straight road, out of the cold And we can leave it all behind I wanna get outside, baby, let's get outside I wanna get outside, outside, of me Submit Corrections
I remember hearing the riff at 2:30 a long time ago on their facebook page and I got super hyped for the new album! I got goosebumbs the first time i heard this song, especially that riff!! Love it! :D
Tonight's episode of Sonic Highways was the best one yet. The whole tribute to the desert scene caught me completely off guard. There's no way to put the whole LA scene into a song, but fusing some Kyuss and Joe Walsh did the desert some real justice.
They focused on the Germs, hence the former guitarist in the Foo Fighters, what about the Gun Club,X,45 Grave,Black Flag,The Minute Men,Steely Dan,the 3oclock,and many more, these guys are Headbangers, hence the image they charade.
Know exactly what you mean....heard this on the radio going down the road, and not really paying attention to the song until I heard that solo and that build up leading back into the song. So awsome.... This song is my introduction to this band. I was running a little behind

amazing track. I gave up on the Foos when they started sounding samey, but this track, and the new sonic highways album, sounds fresh. Lovin this track. Great to hear Joe Walsh ( The Eagles ) turn up to do play lead guitar.
I just....can´t stop hearing this song.....for me, it's son damn perfect...and for those who says "foo fighters are doing the same thing ".....get tha fuck out of here...
This song, more than any other on the album, seems like the perfect mix between their older work and the new sound from this project. Great album, can't wait to see these guys in Feb.
I'm pretty sure this is my new favourite song right now, before this it was 'Foo Fighters - Come Back' from their album One by One, it's actually quite an underrated song. If you haven't heard it yet, I 100% encourage you to check it out!
I fucking love this song. Always playing it when I drive to work on the 101 in LA. Rocked the fuck out when they played it this past Saturday at Daves birthday show
Thank you Dave Grohl, for this wonderful homage to our beautiful friend, Fred Drake. There you are dancing at your altar Beautiful earthling, dressed in kashmir All of your sound echoes in the canyons Down below they're dreaming Hear the sirens screaming Another time, another world Girls were boys and boys were girls Find the glitter in the litter Like a haunt, it's got to move Everybody needs some room There's something out there There's a long straight road, out of the cold And we can leave it all behind I wanna get outside, baby, let's get outside I wanna get outside, outside, of me Oh, I found the space between the spaces Standing in the nothing, and time will cling to And as the wind will beat you down And the wind the only sound There's something out there There's a long straight road, out of the cold And we can leave it all behind I wanna get outside, baby, let's get outside I wanna get outside, outside, of me
This song “Outside” by Foo Fighters has a lively beat and I still find it very fun to listen to multiple months after I first heard it (by around the November/December 2014 timeframe). The guitars and meaningful lyrics make this a rock song that moves the soul/spirit.
1. I am a river 2. outside 3. the feast and the famine / something from nothing 4. congregation / in the clear 5. subterenean 6. what did i do/god as my witness
Brings me back to my nighttime road trips, something about highways at night that have a certain calming effect. Unless you're there, you'll never understand.
Great song. Great album. I love how they travel to different cities and include the legends in those cities on the album. Can't get enough, so excited seeing them in July
Does this song make anyone else wanna move to LA/CA? I'm a musician and I told myself before I heard any of this record that whichever song I liked the best regarding my own taste in music would determine which city I would move to in pursuit of playing music. Let me tell you buddy, this song is definitely leaning me towards LA.
The Irony being this song is about a time in LA long gone, and the need to hit the road and get "outside" of LA. I've been to LA, it's a shithole unless you got money, or decent work. Do yourself a favour, check out videos of the Homeless situation on Venice Beach, of all places, and see the LA of today. Granted, my comment is 5 years too late. But if you still dreaming of the California Lifestyle, just do your homework is all I am saying. Hell, even.half of LA is moving to TEXAS of all places.... Think about that.
Well, I think that Congregation it´s quite different too. Anyway I´m agree that it´s the best track of SH. I love how the songs grows when you listen to them at the end of every chapter of the documentary. I take this album like a whole think with the HBO´s tv show.
started playing this and my parakeet went bananas for it, started hopping up and down and singing along to it, he loves it... I Love It.... WE LOVE IT!!!!!
Its so sad and painful when the greatest band in the world loses their heartbeat.😭 The entire world feels it. Thank you Taylor, rest in peace.
Massive loss was unbelievable
❤
for real #grangergloryhole
😭this isnt a crying emoji bro its like ur crying of laughter
Best track of the album
Hell yeah!!!
Totally agree!! Love the bass solo...then Joe Walsh!
my fav is the feast and the famine :)
luigi ventroni agreed
is It just me or does this song remind you of the college rock, and early jangle alternative of the 80s. Probably why Ive always liked this song
This song is by far the best off the album and one of the foos best songs ever. The pre-chorus and chorus are just perfect, with the versus having a great bass line and the entire song having great drums. Dave sings so perfectly on this track!
Amen
Love this song !!!!
Sonic highways is definitely their most underrated album. Top 3 for me
⁰⁰⁰⁰

Can’t be #1 though because that goes to The Colour and the Shape.
@@impracticalrocky9946
mine too i love and Documentry of Sonic Highways
Top 1 for me.
Favorite Foo Fighters song! So underrated
This song is definitely one of the best on the album.
2:30 to 3:11 among the best moments in rock music today. Joe needs to do more with the Foo Fighters
that's dave in between those time frames.
+Vincent Farmer Joe joins in though, that's not just one guitar
+Anthony Stuart I think Joe must've felt very comfortable with the Foos because there is a kinda eagle-ness about them. Glenn frey would've loved to play with the Foos as well as he always wanted to be in a rock band, rather than a psuedo-country band. Joe Walsh is a perfect fit.
Sonic Highways one of the best rock albuns in 2014 really underrated!!

Perfect sentiment, beautiful comment. Bless you on your journey!
My favourite from Sonic Highways
One of the most underrated songs I’ve ever heard
I wish it wasn’t 300 but 3 for not good likes

@@dafrogondalog2923 How can any kinda FF fan especially!! Not Like this song??????????? Oh my word!!!!?
Are you kidding? Joe Walsh is AMAZING! I love this song! It came out when I was living in Coachella Valley and had the amazing experience of running into Dave Grohl and the band.
The most underrated song by the Foos!
This song is fucking awesome. That one riff is so cool. I swear they're using a strange time signature at that part.
Yeah, 2 measures of 4/4 & 1 measure of 5/4. That's the whole riff!
PS. I somehow even know how to play it on guitar (well, the root notes anyway). ;)
***** It's actually phrased to be 4/4 2/4 3/4 4/4
farrelldave I don't hear it that way, but that's OK. :)
To each his own, sir! Either way, still a great song.
wow people agreeing in the comments section. a rare sight

Cashmere is a fabric, Kashmir is a place. I saw the error on that page too.
Taylor Hawkins' best performance to date in this track. The drum track itself is addictive.
I remember hearing the riff at 2:30 a long time ago on their facebook page and I got super hyped for the new album! I got goosebumbs the first time i heard this song, especially that riff!! Love it! :D

Agree....it was awesome to see Josh and some old KYUSS footage.

This is my favorite song of this album, the riffs, the drums, everything its connected and sounds amazing
Joe walsh is great
This song is awesome for restoring hope in the future of music.
Great tune. Solo break/bridge reminds me of classic Doors riffs. Very cool groove.
I Foo Fighters non finiscono mai di stupire, sono i migliori!
Damn this song is so good! Everything about it. Joe Walsh awesome too. Listen to that bass. Even the very ending gets to me!
Hands down, one of their best songs. That guitar solo (you know what I'm talking about ;) hits so hardddd...

The best song of the album and yet so unknown by the mainstream.
I love that Hollywood alternative feel with this song with the echo. It's like that vibe you get from Tony Hawk's pro skater games.
amazing track. I gave up on the Foos when they started sounding samey, but this track, and the new sonic highways album, sounds fresh. Lovin this track. Great to hear Joe Walsh ( The Eagles ) turn up to do play lead guitar.

What a BRIDGE!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Easily the best track on the record for me. Safe record, but this is the only song that doesn't necessarily just replicate the Foo sound.
Indeed
I agree. Nothing else on the record has wowed me one little bit. This one is pretty great though.
Well, I think that Congregation it´s quite different too. Anyway I´m agree that it´s the best track of SH.
