Legs are tough to get right. I used to draw the muscles super round too. Good video!
I thought that was the way to draw legs because of super hero instagram art. I'm learning using only reality, at least for now. And then i will draw some figures without refs to see what I've learned or corrected.
I watched how to draw comics the marvel way as a kid and stan Lee and John buscema said you can use stick figures and add shapes and afterwards erase the construction lines and add detail. I still use this technique today.
You cannot go wrong with the late comic book artists advice.❤️
As an artist's I like seeing brothers showcasing their knowledge about anatomy. I may be wrong, but platforms are not showing enough of it as far as livestreams and so forth.
Great advice! I’ve seen a lot of “1-2-3” leg drawings out there! 😂
That second one was definitely an action figure leg.
@@Duna_TV Yepper! I've seen a lot of artist', especially new ones do that. I try to tell them to get the smaller sized models. At least they are more accurate.
Great video. Thanks
How to draw a superhero: Add muscles.... Now add more muscles
for knees, I like to use a sort of an asymmetrical coffin shaped hexagon. The top of the "coffin" is the top of the kneecap that bumps up against the big quad muscles and the bottom of the "coffin" becomes that top bit of shin bone. Then you can truncate or stretch the "coffin" shape depending on how bent the knee is. Does this make sense? Are there any practical benefits to using squares instead of coffin shape hexagon I'm using ? Just trying to get gud (well, better...gud is probably a few more months out)

Google Tom Platz and tell me the middle drawing is wrong ;)

He’s got a leg up on the competition. I know...I know... that was corny. But I don’t care.
