Also crucial to this is instead of using the arch of the foot/ankle, to use the shin bone, as shown in the third and fourth kicks.

For those who don't know SILAT, this is a traditional self-defense technique from Southeast Asia (Indonesia and Malaysia). This self-defense technique is very brutal, deadly and without rules because the aim is to destroy and kill the opponent. In fighting, SILAT has fighting techniques using bare hands and sharp weapons. In the official PENCAK SILAT championship there are several fighting techniques that should not be used because they are very dangerous, they can kill quickly. In Indonesia, soldiers must be able to master this self-defense technique

All the comments about mma fighters would wreck this guy but 1 thing to consider is in the ring in competition yes but walking down the street and getting attacked is more why silat was developed. It was used in battle and its purpose was to end someone before they could end you. The weaponry involved included agricultural tool of the farmers and villagers that had to defend from foreign armies that tried to kill everyone for land. Silat should not be compared to bullshito and no touch masters.......or Steven Begal.

The Iliotibial (IT) band is a great target for traumatizing the leg.
My son scored a knockout (against me!), when he was a small boy of maybe 8 or 9 years, with the point of his bony little elbow!
Imagine my surprise, as a 5'11", 235 pound marine who has wrestled, boxed, played American football as a Down Lineman and subdued and arrested other adult men!
      UNBELIEVABLE!

Sur un ring, il se ferait plier en même pas un round. C'est un pseudo art martial qui ne sert à rien lors de rixes dans la rue, contrairement au Muay Thaï, ou mieux, au MMA.
