    Would just like to say you have the most consistent and best fly fishing channel on UA-cam. Love your fishing, spots, technique, and editing! My only suggestions would be to show your flys and or equipment in the video or bio! I think more than just myself are curious! Also you should do some pike/Muskie fly videos! Would love to see your streamer magic getting worked on some of those big boys! Thanks for the content :)

    Great stuff! Took up Tenkara fishing this summer as my first real foray into fly fishing. Have had some success and caught nice fish, but watching you send those longggg casts from way up on the rocks has got me sold on adding Western Fly Fishing to the arsenal now.

    Another enjoyable outing - many thanks! I watched Chris’ video earlier today, and I’ll share here again, I take both conventional fly gear and at least one tenkara on almost all my trips now. I just enjoy both.

    Absolute beautiful river. Gorgeous fish and thoroughly enjoyed watching you go for the spots others wouldn't dare because I've fished areas just like that both trout, bass, and even blue gill. There's usually brush and limbs all around and have used my rod tip like a slingshot and sent out lures as well as flies to catch all of the above mentioned. Your increasing knowledge and respect for our natural resources are greatly appreciated and truly respected. And always tight lines. Tony

    Fantastic little river. I wouldn't mind visiting it one day. It reminds me of Shell Canyon in Wyoming but the water flow is much higher than when I went there so I can't tell.
    A point of criticism though.. some of your fish handling could be better especially hauling that fish up by the lip. Depending on how it's hooked, you could tear its jaw apart causing permanent disability if not death by starvation. Also keep those fish in the water. Move the camera to them rather than moving them to the camera. Wet your hands before handling them and handle them as little as possible. You're also gonna break a fly rod one day.. that's not a bass rod. You can't just lift and swing a fish and not expect to break a rod.
    But that really is a fantastic spot. It's amazing how much easier it is to create a great video with scenery like that created for you. Keep shooting in places like that and you'll always have an audience.

    Hi Jon, I love your channel! I love fly fishing too! You are one of my favorites in the fishing world. Your skills are amazing. I'm curious as to which camera your using, I'm sure you have multiple ones. I'm looking at buying one , not to do a channel with but just to record my catches & releases and maybe the scenery while fishing. I've learned a lot from wating you & Andrew, keep up the great work!!

    I know exactly where this sections is. Unfortunately, over the years, no longer a secret and the fishing is never the same because of how slammed it gets.
    *Also, they stock this river upstream in the private neighborhood so you'll get alot of hybrids and different looking trout like your bow you caught.

    That one trout that looks like a rainbow trout with lots of yellow coloring, it reminds me of a possible description for a yellowfin cutthroat trout. the probability is quite low because they are presumed extinct and the last reported sighting was in the early 1900s and they were said to be found around the Twin Lakes, Colorado, but biologists have fairly recently rediscovered the greenback and san juan cutthroat trout in Colorado and they think the yellowfin could still possibly exist in the wild. maybe even far away from their original range because apparently people stalking the yellowfin cutthroat trout outside of their range was a thing that might have happened. so there could be a possibility that that trout you caught was a hybrid or maybe even just a straight up yellowfin cutthroat trout. (or I could just be over thinking this and that is just a regular rainbow trout or some rainbow brown trout hybrid)

    • @hardmanfishing
      @hardmanfishing  2 роки тому

      I've read about the yellow fin cutthroat actually. I doubt that's what this was but who knows. I'm definitely not a fisheries biologist! Thanks for watching

    i do both. i’ve found tenkara much more effective when euro nymphing. not exactly sure why someone would spend serious $$$ on a euro rod when a good tenkara rod is $150 and much more effective in that technique. still water+long casts? sure, conventional rod.
    next time bring fish hawk and all fly anglers will bow to the in-line spinner..

    • @fishfoolishness4222
      @fishfoolishness4222 2 роки тому

      That's what I always thought, tenkara is just a better way to euro nymph

      @@fishfoolishness4222 it is nice not having to manage line. the rods are super light. something uniquely enjoyable about it. confession: i throw spinners and thunder sticks too lol
