The glutinous rice cake sandwiched in between the sweet potato and yam is called " Ti kuih " in Hokkien Chinese, Malay called it kuih bakul in which long ago Chinese usually give out to Malay/ Indian friends during Chinese New Year festival as delicacy.
I look forward to chinese new year because of Ti kuih. I just love that thing. Will slice it up into small pieces and just munch on it or if I'm rajin, I'll steam it. It's simply addicting.
Look at Jimmy hamsap face when having delicious pisang goreng already satisfied 🤣. Jimmy auto rename him as Kenzo San 😅. The glutinous rice cake in between sweet potato & taro is Chinese Traditional Rice cake aka "年糕". Kenzo San really passionate and focus on frying pisang goreng, giving his 100% effort to make perfect pisang goreng 💯💯💯✅✅✅
Ahhh...my favourite pisang goreng place for the past 15 years after I discovered the place. You exposed my hidden gem to those who do not know the place already...hahaha sometimes they didnt sell the banana because they are very particular about the ripeness of their bananas....only sell when the banana is the right time to fry. The 'unknown' is yam and sweet potato layered between nian gao(Kuih bakul)....

You've got a lot for RM2 of pisang goreng at the first stall by local std at this time. The 2nd pisang goreng stall is very special, double fries, seldom found this method of fry here, you can only find at selected stall by asking around only. Yummy... Enjoy yourselves jimmy and Ichang.😄
For me the best type of pisang for pisang goreng is pisang raja. It's called pisang raja (literally means banana king) because it is the king of all pisang. But nowadays it's very difficult to find pisang raja. Most stalls use pisang abu like the first pisang goreng stall that Ichang and Jimmy went. I believe the second stall use pisang raja. I have been watching all your videos since the title Japanese girl eat durian. Now, I waiting everytime you upload a new video. I love how Ichang and Jimmy took the opportunity to go around Malaysia and enjoy as much as they can! Love from Sarawak!
The second one is expensive because it is totally different type of banana. The first stall they use cheaper banana and being cut into pieces. The second stall they use different banana, that's why more expensive, they also using the coconut oil which is more expensive if not mistaken.
The sweet glutinous rice cake is the one always served during Chinese New Year... They sandwich the sweet cake between a slice of yam and sweet potato and deep fried.
This pisang goreng is very popular here. Notice they add sesame seeds? It taste better with it. No other seller adds this. Normally there's a longer line waiting so you're lucky you don't have to wait so long.

Personally I love Pisang Nangka for Fried Banana. Since I hate the too oily type, the fried pisang nangka has that rigid texture and less oily compared to most other types of banana
