what i love bout this couple is, how not afraid they’re trying new things, respectful towards culture, use warmly vocabulary to describe the taste and the looks of the food even though it might not suit their tastebuds but still not feeling offended by their review. one important thing (idk u realize or not) u guys also bring Malaysian together alongside ur journey. not all of us has opportunities to travel and visit nice place. so by watching ur videos, we learn something, feel proud bout our identity, our heritage or multicultural environment, learn new cuisine, new culture and many more. u not an outsider but our family as a Malaysian. also u guys very natural, no dramatic, not bougie equipment, no fancy, not diet or feel that Malaysian cuisine so heavy, oily, and etc. u guys also found new gems 💎 in each of ur journey that we also cherish and feel attached to the journey. thanks for showing us a nicely Malaysia 🇲🇾 environment, culture, people and etc. bless ur heart. thanks n take care.

    Some fun fact
    1) Kyushu and Negeri Sembilan means the same Nine Provinces. Both are built from 9 kingdoms into 1.
    2) Tebu telor (that you drink), is one of Negeri Sembilan signatures, also called as Fiji asparagus. They look different to other normal sugarcane.
    3) You should try puyuh there, puyuh is smaller than chicken but more meaty
    4) Do try other dishes that you can find in KL, N9 people hardly suggest their food choice since all of the dishes are good to our tongue. Except for the spicyness, the cooking process is kind of similar to how japanese cook, we just use less ingredients and simple steps, we also avoid sugar and bawang besar (for the fresh food taste and to keep it stay longer). How bout try non spicy food here 😁 you may love it.
    5) Negeri Sembilan is a sister city to Padang, Indonesia. Most of the culture and dishes are a bit similar. And of course, to find the best Rendang, you should try here.

One thing I love the most about Ichang n Jimmy style of vlogging is they did their research before they go to any place. We can add our own information along them, such a diligent way to vlogging. Compare with others, they dont even know any words to use even easy words like terima kasih or berapa ringgi, they dont know what they are gonna to meet at that specific place and etc. Not be offended , just want to point out what the best factor I like while watching Ichang channels. Great job Jimmy n Ichang 👍

At this point, I'd guess you've actually seen most of Malaysia than the average Malaysian. Certainly more than I have. I've the impression that Malaysians don't quite visit other places in our own country as much, and people with a bit more money probably would go overseas instead.
Also, if you're talking about free range chicken, it's ayam kampung. Kampung ayam would mean village of chickens instead. The first word is the subject, the next word describes the first. As an example, telur ayam = egg from chicken, ayam telur = chicken that lays eggs (as opposed to chicken reared for meat).
Also man, can you guys eat. How long was the pandan kuih and ayam egg thing after your salai meal lol
Take care, look forward to your next video!

As local sometimes i can't bear the pedasness of masak lomak cili api NS, never sip the kuah, mixed with rice instead. More nasi n less kuah, eat slowly till finish. I noticed most European tourists simply ate Sambal nasi lemak without mixed-up with rice and of course the pedasness hits straight away. Malaysia is mixed melting pot, so always mix everything before eating hahaha

N9 masak lemak is no joke. Their savory/lemak and that level of spiciness. I've been blessed to eat from 2 of my aunties from N9. They are the best cook in our big family. And spice demons too. Pedas sangat dohh and I'm pretty strong pedas eater. I mean lidah apa diorang pakai. 😅 Im born and raised Selangorean and so far in ranking spice & masak lemak (any kind) level, N9 and Melaka are the top contender. They're really2 good.

They cook until pecah minyak, some they add belimbing besi or unripe manggo, some add asam keping. Then they add water and salt or sugar ( not too spicy and hot)

Fun fact for outside viewers; salai is actually quite the rare food, not in terms it is not sold often hell no you can find it everywhere, it's just even some malaysians absolutely despise this dish. Just like durian, some people here stay away from it because of its strong smell and so does salai. They find the smokey smell too strong and even had a friend who almost ended our friendship because I was absolutely enjoying salai during my lunch hour

Malacca Kuehs are authentic and the best..please try dodol, wajik, pulut tetal, onde onde, lopes, putu piring, cakar ayam, dram2 or penderam etc etc..
    Kueh bakau is typical Melaka..
Kueh bakau daging/ayam and Kueh bakau pandan or original/yellowish..all sedap. I enjoyed them since kid when going back to my village in Malacca..definitely delicious, nothing compares..! 😋 ☺️

Hi iChang Jimmy, if any masak lemak Negeri Sembilan too pedas for you guys, just add soy sauce (Kicap Manis) to your rice. It blend well and make it less spicy. trust me because i m Negeri Sembilanese

Watching both of you eating, I must say I need to be there to try all those delicious looking food. And the kuih bakar.
You may also want to try the mutton curry at kedai makan pak raub very near to the pedas-linggi toll plaza.

@@ichangrm there are places in Negeri Sembilan where you maybe able find mild and not too spicy food. The Minangkabau food is unique to itself and time to exploring this state. Next time brings milk to softer the pedas. Hehe

That is the original way of doing kuih bakar. Cooking with coconut shell on top. I will always miss my late grandma's kuih bakar. Which sadly, none of her still-living children and grandchildren learn to make. Now we can only buy instead of selling hundreds of it to pasar Jasin / making it for kenduri kahwin. I never find any kuih bakar that will top hers. But this one hits different.

1- Kuih dangai = compact shredded coconut
    2- Kuih bakar
3-Kuih sepam wap (about equivalent to badak berendam)
Dishes which are staples to Negeri Sembilan
1-Masak lemak cili api (either with salai meat, salai duck, salai cat fish)
2- masak asam ikan terubuk (about same to other states 'asam pedas' but the ingredients are slightly not similar)
