I am an undying fan of Kate Bush. I've heard many covers, and no version comes close to doing it justice the way this one does. This music teacher loves what he does, and these kids love what they're doing. Beautiful.
I always loved this song. This version makes it more touching and realise the possible meaning. I love seeing the kids enjoy singing without the limits we put on performing as adults.
For a start, it's a song about adult relationship traumas, nothing to do with children. They should sing about the pea green boat at their age. The choir instructor must be just as clueless as them to think this was a good idea. It's misguided and tasteless - but then taste doesn't play much of a role nowaday, does it? It's been traded in for cuteness. Replace these kids with a dozen of smiling shit emoticons, and you would still find it touching. There is nothing natural about these kids. They are following the cretinous mannerisms of today's entertainment like trained poodles. Pointing upwards when the lyrics come to "up", and tapping their chests like little Whitney Houstons when it comes to "me". Lucky they haven't got mikes, because they would all do the neurotic finger thing with them.
@@offbeat65 Children have emotions too, there's nothing sexual or inappropriate about the song and they will interpret it from a childlike perspective. Don't you remember singing along to the radio as a child? I was seven years old when this was released and I always loved it. As for their actions, isn't that how children move to music? I believe they are feeling rather than performing. They are an ordinary school choir and they turn up to sing because it obviously makes them feels good. I personally am less concerned about children picking up the odd cliched gesture than I would be if they were dressed up and writhing around like the modern excuses we have for pop stars these days!
@kat Lar - No, it isn't how children move to music. They don't tend to do synchronized movements on their own. And my point was exactly that the song was inappropriate. There is more to child-friendly than lack of sex and violence.
@@offbeat65 The central theme to the song is male and female understanding each other. Understanding each other despite differences is a universal theme. Most songwriters write songs with reinterpretation in mind, they just want people to take whatever they can from them. There are so many brilliant cover versions out there that put a spin on the original meaning, the world of music would be all the poorer without that.
Dear Choir Director, thank you for sharing your love of music with these kids, and honoring theirs, and bringing out such beautiful performances. You are doing good.
My favorite singer/song-writer -- these kids did the most incredible cover of a Kate Bush song ever!!! It brought tears to my eyes, it's so good. I really hope Kate has heard this -- I'm sure it would bring absolute joy to her heart.
Merci milles fois 😘😍😍😍❤👍👍👍
this is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. i cant stop crying. my whole body is covered in goose bumps that are hard like rocks WTF. thank you for this. incredible. the expressions on their faces.
Teaching those young'uns right! Some (many) of those kids are FEELING this! Damn it I am a grown man how can I cry like this. Teachers name is Gregg Breinberg apparently. WELL DONE GREGG!!!

The music teachers and directors in this school need to make a program for other school districts. I love that these children have clearly thought about and feel the lyrics that they're singing. I think we have so many more children actively engaged in music if they had the opportunity to learn beyond the 50 nifty United States.
this is so lovely I am going to do it with my adult community choir as it is now no 1 in the charts because of Stranger Things - we are doing 70s and 80s charity show in October and will have our signing choir sign it too! Thank you for the inspiration. Maddie, Landmark Show Choir, Maddie4Music - Deal, Kent, UK
I heard this beautiful version of "Running Up That Hill" in relation to the disappearance of 19-year-old Dylan Rounds, a young farmer from Lucin, Utah/ Montello, Nevada. He has been missing a month and now this song will be for him to me. 💗
Thank you for keeping music alive! Not one cell phone in hand! Cute and talented musical director, keep it up! The future of music is in the hands and voices of the next generation who appreciate and respect the music of the past! Put your cell phones down and pick up an instrument or a microphone or a pen and make art again!
Absolutely adore that it was pre-stranger things

It's that time of school year where Mr. B has a couple of fourth graders hidden among the kids.
Stranger Things made me remember how much I absolutely loved this arrangement. ❤️
