    That rat's nest turned into a workmanlike and shipshape product. Nicely done!

    Really good job explaining what you are doing and then accomplishing the task.
    As a former ROV Supervisor, Pilot/Tech I can appreciate the tangle of wire even in an existing working system and improving it. Over a beer we might argue about the way you are doing it but one of my mottos is never argue with success.

    I'd like to mention how great you've done with your episode labeling, it makes it really easy to follow in order - One constructive comment - due to the length of Episode descriptions sometimes getting truncated on screen, it might be nice to Start the descriptor with the Episode number. That said Well Done!! And that Power Cabinet is Great. People forget about getting things running, and then cleaning it up when all the pieces are in place - your planning is showing!

    Wowzers! Nicely done. Do you have a lightning strike surge protector for all your electronics?
    Just curious how that gets done. How about venting for your converter? How did you set that up?
    Nice job clearing up the Spaghetti Hwy. 👍😎👍

      Thank you for subscribing and watching! Some things have surge via power strip (electronics) the rest is just protected with our grounding plates. Unfortunately its just the risk you have to take. The inverter is venting and has fans below and behind.

    Very impressive , especially since it’s mostly above my pay grade and understanding, but I get it that this is the infrastructure that makes the washing machine go round 😎

    I doubt I could do such a tidy wiring install (especially when I glance at the rats nest of cables behind my TV/entertainment center).
    With the undermount USB hub, is there any additional strapping/attachment of the USB plugs? I would be concerned that the plugs might vibrate loose/fall out in heavy seas or just over time due to the constant motion of the boat.

    Why did you chose to not go with a heat pump system as most new boats are going with? Or - did you ? You mention you are installing 5ac's so I assumed. 1900w of ac doesn't exceed 2500w of solar - until night ;) By the way, did you ever confirm your bulkheads need attention - or don't?

    • @SailingDauntless
      @SailingDauntless  2 роки тому

      Or units do a C, dehumidification and heat. If you set the temp slow you can easily overrun are 4300 W of solar with AC consumption. But it’s rarely if ever necessary. Our boat is fine however we will be doing the reinforcement.

      @@SailingDauntless Good stuff; the dehumidification is a good point; I didn't think of how chillers don't do this. Did you hear the point I made about AC vs DC pumps on air conditioners? AC water pumps are twice as efficient as DC pumps (move twice the coolant with half the energy) as DC 110v Air Conditioning pumps? This could half your AC energy debt potentially; I added a link to a website that discussed this in one of my other posts.
