I remember a moth thought I was an npc and I took it upon myself to act like one because I was bored in sky. I led them through all the realms and then later on when we got to Eden. I decided to tell them that there were no npc’s in the game and that I was trolling BUT THEN they told me they were a veteran player who was also bored in sky and wanted troll ppl. I stood there dumbfounded. We then became friends later and we started trolling other new players and non-new players together :D!

I remember when I started playing and I knew nothing about the game besides it looking really pretty. I was too scared to make it past the first krill in wasteland until this group of like 4 cool looking players friended me and dragged me along with them while calling me cute little names the entire time! We are still friends a year later but they still act like I’m a moth lol

I got to eden around 2020s I was a moth. These bunch of players couldn't bear to see me panic when I encountered the first krill they took me out of there. I still have ptsd from the krill. I started playing again

Look…the first time I went to Eden, I thought I had “beat the game”. I knew I did not get everything there was to get, and thought it was one of those games where I beat it with a certain percentage.
I was kind of annoyed and sad, and I remember thinking it was crazy “how quickly I beat the entire game.”
I ended up deleting the game, because even though I enjoyed it so much I did not feel like playing such a “short game.”
FAST FORWARD TO AT LEAST 4/5 months later, I was on YT and discovered an artist that I FELL IN LOVE WITH!

When I was a moth, I did know that there were real players, but I was so afraid to be social that I closed the game automatically when I didn’t know what to do after a player bowed 😭

I was testing out the honks for my outfit and this one moth started following me all the way through golden wasteland. So I decided to just let them and guide them to all the darkness and wings and after a while I just friended them and we went to all the realms lol.

I am ashamed to say that when I was a moth I thought everyone else was an npc. No joke. I started at Season of Performance and just lit everyone up, wondering why they have different clothes. It was only until Golden Wasteland that I realized that they were not, in fact, npcs XD
That seems to be a common thing and I think people get confused because you can request a guide. Not realizing the guide is a seasoned player. I did the same thing. I found out because my daughter plays the game regularly and she told me. 😂

I saved two moths in wasteland today and when I tell you I was DIZZY after they friended me and tried to hand hold/lead me places. Pure chaos but so cute

Adults that play this forget this is a kids game like 80% are probably under 15 if not like 12 haha so yeah this is a predominantly Mobile game no consoles so they're not hardcore gamers and yeah probably exited to have a friend to play with 🎉
I remember using a permanent height potion and it made me short and I changed my hair and outfit. And this moth ran to me and a friend requested me and then held my hand and started making me do a quest for them. XD and I gave them the chat and they said hi robot. And I said. Salutations fellow sky child. What would you like me to assist you on your quest today dear companion. And they just stood there just blank. And they said yes I would like a puppy. 😅 I'm afraid I can't do that pal.

Honeztly, I was just glad that the first players I found were also moths (not really that I got to see their characters, i just based it on their movements) amd realized that this game is just multiplayer no matter what.

Here goes something.
The first time I saw Sky in Pinterest, I thought it was a movie or like a comic. I ignored it but I thought that they look pretty awesome.
Not until my sister gave me a tablet, I searched for a game to play and thats how I learned that Sky is actually a game.
Inside the game, the very first time I got inside "Home" I went around the ice to skate. I was there for like an hour.
Next
When I was in Prairie, I met a player called Vivid. We were talking inside a "space", I don't know how I got inside honestly. Vivid suddenly went offline in the middle of our talk, I waited for her and got somehow bored so I decided to look around. I saw this shiny objecy and floating stuff, I clicked it and then I panicked. I was so sad because I thought I lost the way to contact her. After that, everywhere I go, I always look for the candle thingy where you can leave letters, I wrote for Vivid there.
Next,
Like others, I honestly thought that Sky is pure wholesome not until I met krill and som glitches that pulls me out of the map. AND THAT HUGE DRAGON WHO FLEW IN THE CLOUDS, THAT SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME. The glitch that takes you out of the map is hella creepy as well. The dragon gabe me trauma and now everytime the glitch happen I got so scared that it will appear anytime.
The kid that leveled me up like a champ 2 minutes after i met him was Russian he was so damn fast.......i was astounded by his prowess I'm just as fast now if not faster but he told me a sad story i did not know just how sad until a month or so later he said he had an acct full of stuff and one day his dad got mad and punished him and made him delete the game and he had lost everything now i know just how sad that is because grind allot for candles and I'm an adult i have money i bought some of the items but he's a kid his grind was endless for candles to get the items and his dad made him delete it 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
When i first lit him up he ran me through every level and got me all the lights from memory haha but when we arrived at wasteland he said to me "i hate this place it gives me nausea" haha i was like why? He said you will see the color at first was way different then sky beauty places then i saw it i game with headphones and loud and the scream of the dark dragon krill definitely sent chills down my spine for a while every time i played in wasteland to see the sad manta be devoured can be pretty traumatic for a smaller kid I'm sure he was young maybe 12 of 13 idk to be honest but i can see many adults being traumatized as well. But it's a beautiful game with many real themes if you pay close attention.
There's is much sadness and pain....so much loss and desolation....but that is the beauty of sky...we the sky kids are the hope of a broken world to bring back light and rage against the dying light

A lot of veteran players like to help new players either because they are just a nice person or they might just be bored.
I remember asking a player if he was NPC 💀( i was clueless and i forgot i had requested for a guide, untill a player came, took my hand and flew professional) till this day i feel embarrassed 😂 this video made me reminisce my moth days 🥺🫂

Dang relatable. I thought it was an npc or bot (mainly bot) who’d help me when I requested a guide. But I just kept rejecting their hand because I didn’t know where they were taking me, how they could hold my hand, and could not remember I requested a guide/didn’t know an actual player is supposed to help people who requested a guide XD. Right? Like it feels like a genuine real place a real community. Yes there's crappy people but to be honest i didn't find any until people started saying they exist. Maybe i got luckily or maybe it's my style of playing. If i light you up and unlock chat i actually continue to say hi and do things with you when I see you even if I'm busy because some days i haven't seen a player in days i play daily So i know what time everyone is on because some people are even 14 hours ahead of me. I have Chinese Japanese Turkish German and all sorts of friends i try to label you where i met you or something similar until we chat and you tell me your nickname. Then i call you that it's like something completely different then any game i played the fact that you can get along without ever being able to actually talk is crazy haha

To be honest i don't see a distinction between moths and veterans i learned everything super fast and play better then people that have been playing for years now haha i think it's all in how you're first greater by the game. I got lucky to meet tons of friendly people and now they're my actual friend in real life....this game hit me in the feels so many times like it's transcendent. I have SEVERE social anxiety.. I've picked this game up recently, and I get nervous just being near people because I feel like there's an expectation of knowing what to do, and I just don't... a player found me who was decked out in all sorts of cool gear, and that was the first texting conversation I've had in this game. It was way out of my comfort zone, but I managed to have a full conversation :)

I started playing when the PlayStation version came out. I already knew the game was like Journey but I didn’t know people can grab your hand and take you to places. The first player I came across was offering their hand but I didn’t know what it was so they started dragging me every where. I think they must have thought I was a random npc because they got confused and then mad when I wouldn’t grab their hand anymore. I tried to run from them but they wouldn’t stop chasing me and telling me to grab their hand so I just logged off and logged back in. Lol

Im still new to this game, a moth yk. I got to the golden wastelands but im too afraid to pass the kirlls, a bigger player dragged me a bit but then left so i left too because i was too afraid to continue 😭 i love it when people light me! And i love following the bigger players when they light me sometimes because they're so cool. Im too shy to actually talk tho, so i just honk (idk how chat works exactly yet anyway so)
I have done this before, but I start at Hidden Forest to help with the rain, than I stop at Eden because it would be troublesome if I led and innocent moth into Eden veteran or not.
When I friend them I unlock chat and use my Customer Service advantage to answer questions and chats like a true npc.
45% of the time I unfriend them when they have graduated from being dragged around, they usually come back and wait at Hidden Forest because that’s where I sit and wait for new moths.
Fun part is when they’re a veteran, veterans act more either stupid than average or above average, in truth I just tell them to walk through golden waste land and vault of knowledge portal to see if they get teleported. 😂💀✨

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was intentional. There's no tutorial and no one who begins playing knows what their supposed to do. But that's the fun of it I think.

Can confirm I thought players were npc’s at first. It’s how I made my first ‘friend’ because I thought I had to feed a person candles for a mission. Then I had the help guide permanently turned on because I was just clicking buttons and was confused when a random person snatched my hand and started dragging me around. That person then friended me after dragging me around prairie too. Moth me had no clue until a friend told me later on 😂
That's the case for most players. Veteran players like to help moths. I think it's nice. That's cool tho that you made a friend without even trying.
Lowkey did NOT expect this game to make me so emotional! My character died but at eden i’d found someone who was like a partner. We fought together and died together. We rebirthed together also, and bow idk who he/she is and im so sad. It was a profound connection, i lost my wings numerous times just to save him/her and they did the same. Dont know the name or anything and im so sad i stopped playing now. What a connection! And when we held hands in The game, istg i felt emotions 🥺✨ idk who this person as but man i wish i knew them irl

I came across (what I think is a PC) Moth last week when it came to Steam. They just finished the Hidden Forest and were showing me all the emotes. It was so cute. 😂 (as if I’m not also a moth, only been playing since January and still haven’t done Eden)
I feel sad knowing when I started playing I knew that there where no NPCs because my sibling made me start playing so I never got the experience of being a solo moth 😞
The Spirits are npcs what are talking about lol and the guides haha you still got the experience. But I get you the feeling of an undiscovered map locked areas and more but you can replaying and it's always changing

Look…the first time I went to Eden, I thought I had “beat the game”. I knew I did not get everything there was to get, and thought it was one of those games where I beat it with a certain percentage.
I was kind of annoyed and sad, and I remember thinking it was crazy “how quickly I beat the entire game.”
I ended up deleting the game, because even though I enjoyed it so much I did not feel like playing such a “short game.”
FAST FORWARD TO AT LEAST 4/5 months later, I was on YT and discovered an artist that I FELL IN LOVE WITH!

(It was December 7)
SMH….I FINALLY finished all of the quests a couple days ago. It took me forever because why??-- my ass didn’t have access to most of the memories. Why you ask?? CUZ, I ONLY HAD LIKE, 10 SPIRIT MEMORIES COMPLETED! (most the quests needed a certain amount to open the gate)
I didn’t know anything about the ultimate candles before (so I started from 0)! I really want the blue Ultimate cape! I have the hair already, but since I started so late/WITH BASICALLY NOTHING, I already know I’m going to have to spend even more money so I can buy the ultimate candles for that Cape. I’m so ashamed to say, I literally paid for all of the Aurora extras. SMH.
At least I fell in love with the game again ANDDDD learned how to ACTUALLY play it 😂

Since im someone who catches up fast, my first time playing it was kinda also like that I thought it was a Single Player game but I got to know that there are too many people for a one-player game😅I was so happy when I found out it was an online-multiPlayer game😂 i was going alone till the golden wasteland when at the clothing location(in golden wasteland)i met my first friend there and I called her "Lovely" and she also chatted with me while going through the realms😂❤

@@GigaChad1100 depends on how you want to play the game. The game focuses on social interactions, you can befriend another moth (explore together) or if you are lucky a veteran (old player) will guide you. If you want to progress in the story solo, just explore areas, collect spirits (the blue things that you relive their memories) and winglights (the shiny child-like figure you will encounter).
Spirits gives you emotes/expressions that will help you communicate with other players.
Wing light gives you power of flight. More winglights means more flight.
There are 8 realms in the game.
You are not required to collect everything to finish a realm. (If you missed anything you can come back to it later). You can just access the next realm once you entered the portal from the previous realms. (I hope I can explain it better).
It’s sort of like a linear story. One goes after the other. Once you have unlocked the realms it will be accessible on the home area.
These are the realms.
Isle of dawn>Daylight prairie>Hidden Forest>Valley of Triumph>Golden Wasteland>Vault of Knowledge>Eden.
Eden is the final realm, however it is not the the end of the game.
Some areas are only accessible when you have certain amount of spirits collected/ finished eden.
Especially when u dunno why u can't fly anymore

Same the kid that boosted me up when i was a moth said never to do Eden because you loose all your light so i did the wiki but i didn't want to get spoilers So i waited. I met a Turkish kid and we became sky friends and games like every day but he was afraid i told him it was ok that you had to complete the game so one day he found some strength and we decided to do it together he was also pissed off we found a pro to guide us amazingly that moment that he decided to go through at the vault he saw us lit us up gave us outfits and we ran Eden with him haha but my friend was so pissed off he called him a devil HAHAHAHHAA and he deleted the game but then reinstalled it haha after a few days and now he runs eden alone

I’m a two weeks moth I guess and I remember when I got lost in the hidden forest while looking for the spirits, I was so scared and about to cry because the rain hurts me and my light disappeared. I’m thinking of logging off that time bec I don’t know what to do anymore then suddenly someone saved me and guided me out of there😭😭 Till now he’s helping me familiarize the map and do candle run🥺He’s very nice and fun to be with too! So happy to have a new friend. His name is Rain btw.

IM NEW TO THIS GAME AND I LITERALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DOOOOO. I THOUGHT EVERYONE WAS LIKE NPCS UNTIL SOMEONE TRIED TO HELP ME NAVIGATE THROUGH THE GAME BUT SINCE I WAS SO DUMB WITH THE CONTROLS, I FELT ASHAMED AND LEFT 😭😭
I don't really play the game, but I'm pretty sure you just light candles and follow spirits around. Outside of that, I'm pretty useless.
i remember my first friend and thinking they were an npc. it was winter so home space was still snowy and i REALLY liked ice skating (i did the skating race like 4 times a day and skated at home when i was bored) so i just dragged this “npc” skykid around the home space rink for a good 15 minutes then took them flying randomly through prairie for a bit (i only had the first 3 realms unlocked at the time) before leaving. i hadnt even realized that was a real person i dragged for i think 30ish minutes doing nothing. they were really patient about it though and just let me do whatever and spammed emotes whenever i did the same :D
edit: i havent seen them in over 2 years, i hope theyre okay

when I was a moth I remember I would straight up REFUSE to go in the like dragon thing realm (idk man qwq) without someone to help me because of how absolutely terrified I was of the sky worms
When I was a moth, I made my first friend in sky,,, We had a good conversation we should play together amd chat we use to share about our daily lives, when ever I was bored I missed my friend and open the game to chat and play.. but one day I Uninstalled the game because my exams were coming and I left playing till 4 months and now my friend is no where and I think friend stopped playing too 😔
It happens but if you had your account linked you could always see if that player was there in your constellation but was inactive. You could leave a message for them in a note or shared space maybe they would find it. I always label you an actual thing if I talk to you in the chat those random names are cool sometimes but hard to keep track of i have like 120 people i lit up so yeah haha but i talk to or actively play with half it's hard to play with so many people because they're on different times like china and Russia i got tired of gaming at 4 in the morning haha
I'm rather surprised at the sheer number of people mistaking other players for npcs xD like, one of the very first things I noticed about the npcs and players is that the NPC's are all semi transparent, ghost like resembling a stary sky while player characters are completely solid, that and until you share your light with other players they look like you do when you've been drained of all your light. Not to mention, players run around, jump, emote, and fly and share their light, while npcs have no light to share xD like "I have a candle to spread light, they have candles too, they must be the other players, I wonder why they look like that tho, oh! that's how you see them, okay, got it." was more or less my thoughts within just 5 minutes of starting the game, and I just started playing on ps5 a few days ago. I've even shared some of my own recordings of the silly things I've done here on youtubes, just things I thought were silly and worth sharing lol

When an interaction like this happens organically, and minutes later they leave you, in this vast world after making a connection 🤔🤔🤔 ummmmm if you DONT 😢, you have no soul, and have no business playing this master piece...go back to the mean streets of the GTA, Cyberpunk, zombie worlds in which you came 😎

Me and my sis have been wanting to play sky for so long but our phone weren't compatible for it until one day my parents bought and ipad and it can install sky but since we only have one ipad we decided to make up lore that we were two soul stuck in one body and we will only choose hairstyles that have two ponytails also just learn a new player is called moths by this video 👁️👄👁️
Edit: we have made it to Eden and now we're a sick ass veteran so when we were candle running we found a moth struggling at (idk what it's called but it's the first spot you meet the krill) so we decided to help and thought since our wings have upgraded a lot this would be a breeze but instead we accidentally triggered the krill 2 times while holding hands but luckily the krill only directed the atack at us so at least the moth was ok and to put salt on the wound we wanted to leave cuz we thought the moth hate us cuz they prob think we want to kill on purpose but instead the moth hold out a hand TO US AND LEAD US TO SAFETY 😭😭😭😭😭
One time me and my sis was struggling in the golden wasteland because since I'm the one controlling movement and my sis controls literally everything else it's kinda hard for us to fly high up and this absolutely light in the form of an angel help us find all the nook and cranny and while she was holding our hand we were saying to each other how much we suck and how nice she is and then the veteran wanted to see how we move around and let us take control which was a disaster and then when she controlled back we left cuz how much we suck at flying😭
That's so awesome that you and your sister came up with such a cool idea and work together so well! You'll get better at flying. As you progress your wings will last longer. You can also refill your wings by dipping into clouds if your stamina is running out.

Ah they'll be okay. Sometimes you just gotta jump in feet first and learn on your own. It does seem that most new players have no idea what to do.
I mean...if you're a gamer it's like going from one android phone to another and the game does tell you what to do not like a class or nothing but you do get tips at first and it's not like they can't just UA-cam it. I mean i learned as i went i got lucky i friended a kid with an alternate account that helped me a bit but for the most part i did everything by myself i don't like to cheat Doni don't always look up things because you get into bad habits but yeah i feel that way too when the game glitches and i can't play correctly
Sky can't delete friends, journey can't add friends, and Mr. Chen's games are always so special.
I’ve played sky since the launch and just recently downloaded the Switch version. Even with the guide, the learning curve was steep 💀 getting use to the controls was hard but overall, playing on switch is a ton of fun :)
(I know this about new players but I felt the same switching consoles lol)

@@ivoryremains You need to light all the unlit candles and you'll see a candle symbol in the upper right corner and it will slowly fill up, once its full you can tap on it to collect your candle.
