Andrew...Glad to see you recognized idle-down control needs to be lengthened. That 4-second time will destroy that engine constantly going from idle to full RPM as frequently as it is. I'd suggest 2-3 minutes for when a guy/gal goes to get/load more wood. Just my humble opinion as an engineer!
Ow heck ya , now that’s a real vertical splitter boys an girls . Definitely has all the bells and whistles and looks good doing it . That machine will be a game changer for anyone wanting to do production bundle grade wood . Look forward to seeing this in person at the show .

Hi Andrew!!😀😀 You have got yourself a real machine there now. I'm glad you realized that the idle delay needs to be quite a bit longer. Probably between 10 to 15 seconds. Otherwise someone is going to get hurt racing the idle down. Take care my friend!!😀😀👍👍 Logger Al
It is really fast. My first thought is,what about the 180 degree lift. I like my Axis but I'm not fond of the lift. Call me lazy.. I'm ok with that, but you added more mass to the lift and it still needs to be disconnected to get skinny. My biggest issue with vertical splitters is footprint and overhead requirements. I understand physics but I'm just passing on my initial thoughts. Nobody wants to spend that kind of money and not be able to store it. Thanks for sharing.
Personally, the “AXIS SHO” works for a name in my book. It fits in with the SHO label for muscle cars, has that ring of familiarity. Nice improvements, BTW!
Love that extra speed and control! Great idea the traversing conveyor and the auto reduction to idle. Save fuel and extend engine life. You've done it again Easton made. Cheers from HB NZ
Hello from East TN found your channel, but follow your products, you stay on top of it,i cant wait to get a ultra in a couple years, call it the Axle,or Axle 1.0. lol
I’m in the market for a wood splitter. Love everything about this machine EXCEPT the 4 second engine idle down aspect. I want the full power for use all the time. A good example is when Andrew was operating the log lift and the engine had reduced itself to idle; the RPM’s need to be high for the hydraulics to do the work. Not a fan of having to wake the machine up. I can’t see the concept of rpm reduction consistently adjusting from low to high providing significant fuel usage reduction and engine wear. Otherwise the new machine looks like a winner! Another great product from Eastonmade. Congrats Andrew.
The speed of that machine is insane.... the idel down being adjustable sounds like the icing in the cake! Adding the idel up function to more than the foot pedal would be great also.
Wow!! What a difference 2 weeks can make. Obviously a few kinks to work out but the auto idle down idea is awesome. Like everyone is saying though, it probably needs to be 10-15 seconds or so. User adjustable would be even better. The cycle time is unreal, I like the idea of the speed being user adjustable on that as well. That is pretty fast for a noob that hasn't learned all the ins and outs of rounds with cuts that aren't parallel yet. Having all of the controls on the front of the machine is freaking awesome. It sure is going to make it easier to sell one while doing a demonstration when you can have a casual conversation with a potential buyer when the machine is at idle or shut down. How's that Black Crows song go.... Jealous, jealous again! 🤩
I think 15 seconds delay before idle would serve you fine. Just make it easy for the owner to adjust. I just know some people won't want it at all and some will. But I think if you time however long it takes for the wood to travel up the conveyor that would be a good starting point for the delay. Nice idea.
Wow, what a great machine. I'm really impressed. I'd suggest the following a name for the splitter, MOAVS - Mother of All Vertical Splitters. Keep up the great work!
I seen one of these in actions in one Buckin Billy video there an amazing machine very impressive is there anywhere in Nova Scotia to buy them only out that way . Thanks for giving one to Buckin you sound like a great guy !
I bought an Axis. It delivered almost two weeks ago. It shipped with the conveyor detached. That means I must attach the conveyor to the work table. I looked for instructions that would show a picture or two plus some written instructions. I think it is assumed that everyone purchasing an Axis has equipment to position this beast of a conveyor to be attached to the work table. Not so. My helper and I attempted to align the end of the conveyor to the end of the work table. We would get it to almost an inch from alignment but two tringler pieces that needed to go under the swivel plate would not go under unless I lifted the conveyor up in the air so as for those two tringler pieces to go under the plate, letting alignment of channels for a shaft to be driven through. The two of us could not lift it sufficiently high enough to get alignment. Before I tell you what I did, I would like to hear direct from the horses mouth the recommended procedure for attaching the conveyor to the splitter. May I suggest that the procedure be included in the manual. Tomorrow the splitter will get its grand beginning splitting tons of rounds. Been waiting a long time for a splitter that takes the work out of bundling firewood. Thanks Eastonmade and your excellent team of innovators.
Its a pain in the ass to put on. Need 3 or 4 guys or some sort of loader and a sling to lift it on. We cant ship it with it attached as it would be well overheight for a transport.

U guys up in the big woods have to nice trees but us slums lords in the lower 48 have big nasty gnarly trees and the wood flys out at you when you not looking.
