Economist tells Canadian senate how to improve 2024 federal budget

On June 4, 2024, David Macdonald, senior economist at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, spoke to the Senate’s committee about Bill C-69, the legislation which would implement the 2024 federal budget.
Macdonald told the committee how they could improve the budget by making changes to the Employment Insurance system, making the school food program universal, and making the tax system more fair.
