    I'm sorry you had trouble unscrewing the bit. Probably some stupid countryman of mine overtightened it just to screw someone up using it. 😂 Still a very nice review of the VHS-2. Each rifle has its own ergonomics and good results can only be achieved with practice. It's a pity that you are not able to try the original VHS-2 in full auto mode. It's a blast! Greetings from a Croatian soldier

    If you run the cheaper surefire momentary tape switch, you can run it to the other side of the hand guard through the m-lok slots and under the barrel. Then attach it to the opposite side of the hand guard with the little plastic Magpul mount for the switch. This keeps the cord protected inside the hand guard and out of the way of the charging handle. Best setup I have been able to figure out and I have tried three different switches and locations. Hope this helps someone.

    • @TheGunFellas
      @TheGunFellas  Рік тому

      I actually like that idea, my only concern would be the cable getting a little uhhhh toasty in there. I’d be willing to try for science

    • @freedomfirst7143
      @freedomfirst7143 Рік тому +3

      @@TheGunFellas The cable is stiff enough that it seems to push itself against the inner surface of the handguard and away from the barrel. It is obviously in the with the barrel, but mine does not contact the barrel. It figured I could always tape it to the inner walls of the handguard with that heat reflecting foil tape if it ever became a problem. If it will keep the plastic on my snowmobile from melting 2 inches from the hot exhaust all day, it should protect that cable.

    Good review. Thanks.
    WAY low key, dude! You ok?? ;))
    Trigger: It’s a combat trigger. It’s
    fine. My Active Duty M16, not great either. So?? “Train to the gun”.
    Good point about ‘shooting fast’.
    Harder with bull pups. So??
    Extendable stock: according to the manufacturer… it’s so you can move your face further back from the ejection port, if/when switching shoulders a lot.
    Good point about also for backing off from your Nods.
    Mag changes: Again… ‘train to the gun’.
    Height-over-bore: stop bitching people!
    “It’s a G36 bull pup”.
    Excellent observation.
    Good job.
    Thanks again.

    • @TheGunFellas
      @TheGunFellas  Рік тому +1

      Interesting, since I’m a lefty, when I want to let a righty shoot it, I typically extend the stock for them so their faces clear the ejection port, didn’t know that was the intent behind the design there. As for the trigger, I think we’re all so spoiled with generic AR triggers being, all things considered, in the top 5% of triggers in general, so different things can be offputting to people. I don’t mind it, but slow firing it to zero or something was a bit agonizing, really my only gripe with it is how LONG the trigger pull is… again, only when zeroing it did I find it bothersome. Thanks for the feedback!

    Thanks for making the video. I feel the same way. I haven't made a review video yet. I'm still taking my time to come up with my conclusion. I'm thinking of manufacturing a few new parts for this. I Love this gun. I Love the aesthetics and similarities to G36, and I no longer want a HK 433 or CZ Bren, Spear, or RobArm or G36k since this is a bullpup version, and such a well executed version.
    But, I would like a longer and shielded handguard. Not sure if I would want it polymer with mlok, or if I want an aluminum one with 1913 pic designed with Surefire Scout or Cloud in mind.
    Better trigger, or at least one with an preload adjustment. I think an adjustment screw could take up the slack.
    Needs an AK47 style safety, or one that can be manipulated easier with thumb or trigger finger. And this needs a mag release up there too. So
    I'm thinking of making a shorter 300blk barrel eventually too. A 30cal that is quiet and bullpup sized would be a perfect truck gun. Though, your right, every ammo I feed this runs perfect so far. Wolf. Tula. PMC 55gr. Frontier/Lake city/Hornady 68gr & 77gr.
    This gun runs great.
    Could a few issues get resolved and this turn into a mainstream alternative to AR15?

    • @TheGunFellas
      @TheGunFellas  Рік тому

      For better or worse, I don’t think we’ll ever see these become super mainstream. At best I think they’ll be at the X95’s level of commonality. I do hope to see an aftermarket for these though, it really is a great rifle

  • @JustBeAdude
    @JustBeAdude 7 місяців тому +1

    I have one and it’s an excellent rifle and easy to learn. The trigger is about the best bullpup trigger on the market as I have shot most of them to date. Trying to compare the trigger to that of an AR doesn’t work as it works in a different manner. It’s like comparing a striker fired pistol to a double action only, that’s the comparison I use when asked about it.

    • @TheGunFellas
      @TheGunFellas  7 місяців тому +1

      It’s a perfectly serviceable trigger, we’re all spoiled because ARs and even AKs generally have well-above average triggers compared to rifles in general

      @TheGunFellas  9 місяців тому +1

      A little odd for sure, typically that’s squarely an administrative unloading/showing clear issue, it’s not quite like an AR where you can have bolt override malfunctions or something weird that’ll prevent you from running the action though. I can’t really think of a circumstance on this particular gun where you’d absolutely NEED to be able to manually lock the bolt to the rear to perform an emergency task on the gun. Not a huge deal to me!

      @@TheGunFellas i agree but even a great trigger won't eliminate the creep and long pull length because that's coming from the linkage between the "trigger" and the actual trigger assembly under the action further back on the rifle. from a manufacturing standpoint i'm unsure of how we would eliminate that given the action isn't by where we would want to place a trigger on a bullpup. one thought i had was what about the electrically assisted firing systems used on airsoft weapons, but i duno if that's a viable solution. still i eagerly await when bullpups solve that, will 100% jump on board with them then.
