I've been finding it an incredible shame over the past few years knowing that the EMU's are about to be withdrawn. I'm sure it had to happen at some point though, however it's still quite hard to bear. They were a favourite childhood memory of mine, as my mother, brother and I used to go into town on the train during the school holidays and riding on the train to and from the city would always be the highlight of the day. I think they've always been quite an iconic part of Brisbane's infrastructure and I cannot imagine Brisbane without them.
+Sydney Trains Vlogs Phil: IMU 173 was the unit involved in the Cleveland accident (not IMU 172). Great vlog, as always - I'm loving the Queensland edition vlogs!

I live in Labrador and I catch the train from Helensvale to Ormeau station and next time your in qld would u like to film a vlog at Ormeau station as a request for next time you're in Queensland?
you should've told me that you were in Brisbane and for how long cause we could've done a collaboration cause I do trainspotting videos as well. although I think at the time you were there I may have been on my time of from filming but I may have done an exception for a collaboration video. I stopped filming on the 19 of December I think when I went on the last steam train for the year in all of Queensland. I hope you have seen my videos before. did you read the plaque at the end of the platform it shows the time that the cross river link bridge project finally finished turning south Brisbane from a dead end station to the through station it is now
I'm pretty sure that Phil meant to say 'all yellow' instead of 'all white'. Some (not all) of the EMUs went through a refurb a while ago (not sure when exactly) in which the black section around the front window was painted yellow. If you rewatch the video, you'll notice the difference. I prefer the original black bit around the windows.
+Darcy Reynolds not all EMU's had the black mark to begin with. EMU 01 never looked anything like it does now. it used to be yellow front, silver doors, no black mark. different QR logo that sticks out so is not like a sticker. no thing at the bottom with ditch lights. had handles, and no bump on the middle at the front
Darcy Reynolds I agree with you I do very much like the black around the windows and yellow bottom and top. Thanks for telling me all that info. I have ridden on quite a few EMUs in my time and I have realised the refurbishments. My favourite EMU refurbishment was the type where the inside was dark purple and the insulation was redone because in summer it would get really hot in those trains even when the air-conditioning was on it would feel like a breeze of hot air coming out so that my favourite referb type... (I'm not sure wether they have different spec upgrades or anything like that but if you know what I'm talking about then you'll know but if u don't then it doesn't matter... I think it was EMU 26 or 27 that was dark purple inside with all of the stuff I just talked about. Anyways thanks for telling be all that information.
Queensland Trains Operate With Random Unit Numbers, There Isn’t A Numerical Order For Which Trains Couple Up To. As Long As The Trains Are Same Class, Then It’s Fine.
+T1 Sydney Trainspotting - this appears to have been uploaded over the Xmas/NY period, trains will certainly be less used, with no schools, colleges and many businesses etc closed. Peak time usually is somewhere between "a madhouse" and "a crushing experience" - particularly, with ongoing state govt inaction over the 2nd innercity rail corridor.
+T1 Sydney Trainspotting real peak hour is mad crazy. if you live on the Caboolture line you only have to wait 7-5 mins for your train. but if you are going on the Cleveland or gold coast or the Beenleigh line. you have to wait a bit cause they have limited space with the run to south bank being normally slow they cant get very frequent. but if you are heading to Cleveland you can get the odd Cleveland express. its a fun express route
+T1 Sydney Trainspotting the worst thing about peak hour is the occasional use of 3 car units because they don't have enough trains, if you live on the Cleveland, Beenleigh, gold coast, ferny grove, Shorncliffe, Doomben or Nambour you become fair game for a 3 car unit at peak hour. its odd you can get 3 car on Nambour but never Caboolture which does the exact same route but terminates earlier
@5:30 Prefer the black. It's a shame the New Generation Rolling Stock Trains will be replacing the EMU'S Considering the EMU'S are still in Great Condition.
@@voltare2amstereo The NGR's brakes are way noiser than the EMU brakes. I enjoyed riding the EMU trains at night because sometimes the train goes through a neutral point and the lights turn off.

Thank you for the correction and thank you for watching :)
+Darcy Reynolds what happened in the accident?
IZ ProJects the breaks slipped and it couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the station at the end of the line
It's Amazing to see the old EMU's still running I remember those trains from my childhood we use to jump on those to go the EKKA or to the city

Haven't been on one of those old EMU trains since I was like 10

Unfortunately i didn't see the plaque.
Can you go to Perth one day?
i like complete yellow

dan b Yes you're very much correct :)
I meant black or yellow haha.
IMU172 Stayed perfectly fine, it was IMU173 that got destroyed in Cleveland
IMU 173 was the train that crashed not IMU 172
is the black on the emu a trial?
Nope a few different EMU sets have them, we refer to them as "bandicoots" because it looks like a bandicoot of sorts.
3:15 since when does 01 operate with 18, isn't it 01 and 04?

IMU172 never crashed before, it was IMU173
How busy is peak hour in Brisbane? The trains are very empty.

5:25 unfortunately all the bandicoots have been withdrawn and or scrapped.
So now , emu is an emu🤣
IMU 100’s:
Wroooooouuuuuuuu Nyeewwwww
"Zone 4t76 is s3-yyou get us a to a good
U better go to Brisbane before they wipe out those EMU sets by 2018.
EMU 01 is being saved by queensland rail museum and returned to it original form, grey and light green colour
Where did you get that information from?
EMU sets will be around a for atleast another 5 years.
Jason Peisley no, they will be gone in the next 2 or 2 years
Uhhu
Black would be better
I agree
