It's the daily ritual of my son (three years old) to watch "South Brishhhbannn trains" (apart from the Gold Coast and Melbourne trams). He's your most loyal viewer. His therapist tells us that he loves watching things moving in a straight line (consistency?). Thank you for posting such fantastic videos. Our home is visible in this one! This train station is also his regular jaunt for the joy rides. He gets on the trains and then goes back home to watch their videos 😊
10:35 I remember when those used to be on the Gold Coast Line, and I always looked forward to catching the IMU100/120 series instead of the 160/260 series.
@@sarahetheridge4559 wow since when did this happen?? The Tilt Train hasn't been to Beenleigh in over 20 years, you must be mistaking it for something else 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Interesting how the newer looking QR trains have outboard brakes on the motor cars. slightly strange and something I've never seen before. Also they are configurated in M-T-M-M-T-M. That's quite some power to weight they would have and obviously have been designed purely for heavy suburban running.
the 100's have weird duties often, they seem to be the spare unit likely when the gold coast and nambour services all have a 700 or 160 and the ICE is working fine you'll see a 100 get put on something like the doomben line or a northgate shuttle.
When cross river rail opens, it's highly unlikely that airport line services will regularly use the new tunnel, therefore gold coast trains are unlikely to be paired with the airport line. The tunnel connects the current beenleigh and gold coast lines with te current kippa ring, caboolture and sunshine coast lines.
@@Wheelycool_Moonwalker I have since realised that time is the problem for me now… they are very slow from Varsity lakes to Brisbane 1hr 20mins minimum on a good day… and if you get a seat your lucky

I'm pretty sure Normanby and Ekka line was closed, so they had to run it from Roma Street to Sherwood, Tennyson, Yeerongpilly and South Brisbane. I'm pretty sure anyway
How you survived filming in the heat from this last weekend is incredible. I work at a Woolworths in the Northern suburbs and barely survived being out in the un-airconditioned back dock for more than 10 mins.
The normanby line was closed that weekend for cross river rail works. So I presume they just sent the train via the tennyson loop to turn the train around. (tilt trains can be driven from either end, but all the seat is fixed so need to be turned in a loop or triangle after each run)

Wow! I’m happy that you are back in Brisbane! Cool!
Wow! A tilt-train south side!
YES very rare, do you know what it would have been doing there?
it's a very unexpected but nice video to have. good to see the Brisbane vlogs again
Thanks Phil. I remember when South Brisbane was the train terminus before the link bridge was built to connect to Roma st.
Since when do the tilt trains go to south brisbane
I think it went through the tennyson train wash and it’s on its way to Roma St that’s just what I think
The tilt trains often go down to the Beenleigh yard for testing. I’ve seen the tilt trains down there a lot coz I live near the train yard there
Guys the tilt trains don’t go to wash there the tilt trains wash near Bowen hills yard and the intercity bypass of Bowen hills because I live in qld

i believe that would be the regenerative breaking.
Why is there a tilt train passing south Brisbane station??
It was diverted due to trackwork around Normanby.
Woah! Looks like you have unlimited QR videos :)
Awesome footage Phil, keep up the great work 👍
EMU’s Appear Here Quite A Lot. A Welcome Surprise.
Yo Phil u should do more of your days in south east qld and do another vlog at Roma street
It’s uncommon for an IMU 100 series to be running a Beenleigh service
That Is Actually A Suburban Multiple Unit.

It's not uncommon at all, most days theres an IMU100 or 120 series pair running beenleigh - ferny grove services
Yeah Well, I Guess So. I
Back in Brisbane again?
Will the Brisbane airport train from Varsity lakes still go to south bank when Cross river rail is complete or will it take the new line ?

@@tazzer9 so the train from varsity lakes won’t end up at the airport ?

No, Gold Coast and Beenleigh services will no longer go via South Bank and South Brisbane

Because I only saw a glimpse of his back.
Nope
