ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

There is another video from this same performance where the camera pans around and you can see just how many people are watching, and yet not a sound from the audience during his performance. That alone speaks volumes about how good he is.
If i could sing like him, i would spend my whole life crying my soul out in the streets trying to touch peoples hearts with my songs. A reason for that is that i dont see any sense in life expect of the love we could share together.

Hozier is a HUMAN MASTERPIECE!!!! He is humble and sweet and so good to the core! He truly cares about worldly events and does something about it. I am absolutely obsessed with him, proud of it. I've got 4 nights before I see him live!! Oh God, I'm like a 16 yr old. I'm just silly with joy, and listen to nothing else.

Hozier is legit on of my fave EVER singers. the first time i heard take me to church i was about 16 so it was about 5 years ago and its that time when you are trying to find yourself and work out what you like and dont like and stuff and i was getting bored of the conventional pop music that was in the charts at that time cus it all sounded the same. then i heard this in the food hall at college and i was shooketh. it went right into my soul and i found a voice i wanted to listen to for the rest of my life. Hozier is one of modern musics most underrated artists. I literally cannot describe how much i love him and his voice and his music. and the new album was deffo worth the 5 year wait.

I saw him this past year in NYC. It was beautiful was a small venue (1500 ish seats) and intimate. His voice just melts my soul. Beautiful person, beautiful soul, beautiful music.

Definitely one of the best songs out there and Hozier just takes it to another level. His talent as a vocalist, a song writer, a musician is unmatched! Truly on the most underrated artist of our generation

I was never too big on this song, but this is just really cool! Something about really good live music brings a song to life in a way the studio can't.
Please do more Hozier! He’s my absolute favorite artist in every possible aspect. He writes beautiful lyrics and has a total powerhouse of a voice that somehow manages to sound earthshaking and yet vulnerable at the same time.
Every now and then I come by this video to dwell in the joy of the song and Rebecca‘s reaction full of fun, humor and emotion. Hi Becca, carry on your wonderful vids!

He’s such a unique voice, it’s amazing the way he seemingly effortlessly lands and carries the notes and the words, you know what he’s saying even if he is singing a different vowel sound because it works and yes this piece is a Very well composed song!

Hozier is just stunning. There is a lot more from this impromptu subway performance. The writing style, the vocal style....Andrew Hozier Burne is one of the best singer songwriters on this planet. Every time I listen to him, it is like hearing something new,
also one this is always say is when you go to sing in whatever situation you are singing where that is in church, on karaoke, for an actual performance or just in your bedroom when you sing, sing with your whole being or not at all. singing and music has the power to do anything i mean not so long ago music united an entire city in the wake of devastation and tragedy. Sing with heart, sing with meaning, sing with your whole self or not at all.

the "ballet dancer" is non other than Polunin ^^ a world renowed ballet dancer that has taken the world by storm and he did that choreo as his last dance ever, cried his guts out throughout the whole thing (they filmed for 9 hrs straight!) oh and did I mention he was the principal dancer of the Royal Ballet in London ? at 19 or smth like that, making him the youngest principal in the history of English Ballet, you should check him out, there's a documentary about him called "the bad boy of ballet", quite extraodinary individual

I'm not sure if this was pointed out but you see Hozier moving throughout the entire performance. Moving forward and a little back over and over which I believe was to check his vocal levels with the choir behind him and angling his head throughout the performance which would've allowed more people in the audience to hear it easier as he projected his voice. Without a speaker and microphones the sound wouldn't travel as well or as far so it was incredibly considerate of him to do. Seems like even with a smaller crowd he wanted he best possible performance.

The first time I heard that song I was bowled over and instantly in love, played it over and over again, couldn't get enough, stunning song! Also had personal meaning to me as I had a religious upbringing and I think he hits the nail on the head with those amazing lyrics, perfection! God, not only do I love his voice - it’s so strong and soulful like his music - but his lyrics are so profound! A song about feeling disconnected and almost angry at organised religion? Instead finding faith in life and worship in your lover, doing the very thing which was considered unholy and wrong? Finding comfort and commune through it? Like, fuck! The line “there is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin” is so fucking incredible. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it.

I literally just watched this video a day or so ago. His voice is INCREDIBLE.
I saw him in live this last October and this song has been a personal anthem of mine since it came out. Hearing and witnessing him sing this live made me instantly sob, it was just so incredibly beautiful. A spiritual experience.

it’s okay to like an artist and not know all their stuff!! maybe they either a) don’t even know of his other music and think he made take me to church and stopped, or b) don’t really like his newer stuff but love take me to church. it’s completely valid to only know take me to church, and this has happened with many other musical artists.

Half the time you don't know if it's an award winning recording artist or a bedroom singer in these subways. The acoustics and the talent will send you every time.
I'll tell you bout it...I always lived in kinda sorta country areas or suburban-esque poor hoods......and I visited brooklyn/NY for a month years ago...I loved the subway the most...so magical haha even if it is dirty. even the door opening and closing is amusing.
