"Power has been cried by those stronger than me, Straight into the face that tells you to rattle your chains If you love being free." Is one of the best lyrics written in a long time. The way Mavis sings it with a little laugh just gets me deep in my soul.
There is very rarely a time I don’t want to listen to Hozier his voice and the whole feel of this song is incredible. Plus the whole idea of a tribute to activists and singers like this is beautiful. Wow.
He’s got quite a few songs based in activism: swan upon Leda (women’s rights), jackboot jump (self explanatory), take me to church (the churches cruelty towards and suppression of the lgbt community), I’m sure there’s more
That song gives me goosebumps to no end. Every time I hear it. The voices, the melody and especially the words. Everything has so much depth and truth in it.
Mavis Staples marched with MLK Jr. and was arrested on more than one occasion! Bob Dylan proposed to her (apparently, more than once) but she alway said, "No".
Please react to Hozier singing Movement live at the Current. It's an extremely well done live performance. I love this one, of Nina Cried Power, but I suspect it is not actually live. That said, the one at the current is and it's one of his most famous songs next to Take me to Church
Yes it was live, it's like the live versions they do on BBC radio, the audio is live but in some scenes there are cuts in the video and the takes are better, if you look at when it's a band or several musicians there are almost always cuts
Ive been looking for this kind of review. Thank you. Finally, someone who reviews songs for its meaning and substance and not just the high and low notes.
Loved your reaction! Thanks for sharing such good content with us. Could you please react to mamamoo (South Korean, 4 members girl group). They are known as the vocal queens of kpop. Their live vocals are absolutely amazing. Could you please react to mamamoo’s killing voice medley. It is a live medley performance of most of their title tracks. I just know you’ll love it and we would also love to see your reaction to it 😊😊
You would have got more out of it if you didn’t keep pausing it as much. By doing so you managed to undo all the hard work put in to beautifully crafting the song 😡

It always seems incredible the amount of people who don't know who mavis staples is, or even the who the the staple singers are.
My favorite thing about this performance isn’t the singing. It’s the pure joy in their faces. That shared love of music, shared respect for talent.

I actually came here for mavis staples, that woman is a legend.
She's UNREAL
Hozier is always such a delight :) a great singer, an amazing lyricist and a sweet person altogether

i love his activism songs so much- they genuinely give me life
I enjoy watching people falling in love with Hozier and his songs. Completely mesmerized by his voice! (Because same)

A masterpiece! No less! Sadly highly underrated

Yes I agree this is what music should be

Glad you’re listening to Ho-zee-er. 😊
So good. Jackboot Jump is another great Hozier song about activism. His voice, lyrics and choir harmonies are just 😘👌
Simply beautiful 😍 ❤
This is a bad ass song.
Loved this! 🥰
you get it. thanks for this amazing reaction. subbed!
Hozier sang in a choir.
❤ from Malaysia
I wanna hear this guy sing too. Seems to know alot
Well, sometimes music should also be what takes us away from all of those things, too.
No baby, it's activists, not singers.
Or both :D

Plzzzzzzz react on Kim Taehyung (BTS V) new released song " Christmas Tree " 💜
It really sucks that HUMAN RIGHTS is considered a political topic
Hoziier is an activist from Nothern Ireland.
Wrong, he's from Wicklow in the republic of Ireland
No he isn't you clown,He's from Southern Ireland, it's spelt Northern
thanks but don't need your breakdown... totally interrupts the epic performance...
my man you can literally just go watch the original video why did you click on a reaction video if you dont want to see a reaction

Reaction videos aren't there for you to listen to the song. It's a breakdown, reaction, review, etc.
go listen to the song if you want to.
