Excellent information. Worked exactly the same on my 2008 RX 350. I was almost finished until I accidently pushed the rubber plug too far and it fell into the rotor.... so I had to take off the rotor to retrieve it. What should have been an easy 15 min job, turned into 2 hours. I was so upset. LOL.
Hi Victor, when doing maintenance I like to watch your videos and also read the manual. However, I am having a heck of a time trying to find the Parking Brake star wheel shoe adjustment (8 turns) as well as the 7-10 clicks with 70 lb of force for the Pedal adjustment in the manual. I have looked through the "2012 BRAKES Brake System (Rear) (Service Information) - RX350" and "2012 BRAKES Parking Brake System (Service Information) - RX350" sections. Unfortunately my manual does not have working links as they keep referring to "ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE AND PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL . Refer to ADJUSTMENT - Step 2". Any idea where this section is in the manual?
@@Viktor_G_Automotive thank you. i just did, but the parking brake become looser, when the parking brake is off, after the adjustment, if the wheel is not spin is it okay? i thought the tonight’s should be moving while it’s off and right while the parking brake is engaged
@@yd1316 it should move with the ebrake disengaged and not move with the ebrake engaged. The video shows the whole process in detail, including the cable adjustment at the pedal if the pedal still moves down too far after adjusting at the wheels.
Not necessarily. I can’t recall if the rear diff coupler is disconnected from the driveshaft when the ignition is off or not. Lift one rear corner and see if you can turn the wheel that is in the air. If you can, you are good to go. If you can’t, try putting the transmission in neutral (make sure the vehicle cannot roll away by chocking the wheels). If it still doesn’t work, you will have to lift both rear wheels. Naturally, the ebrake has to be off during this process.
Well shoot!.... i just did the rear brakes on my 2010 literally today..and didn't do anything to the e brake. I'll have to do that first chance I get now. The car seemed to be driving fine today though.
Hi, here in North America the RX350 did not come out until 2007, the 2006 was an RX330. The parts may or may not be the same, the best thing to do would be to check with your Lexus dealership parts department.

Thanks Ryan, I’m glad you were able to sort it out after that little mishap :)
@Viktor_G_Automotive it's not going to hurt my vehicle if the dust plug got thrown away is it?
Do you need to adjust the parking brakes everytime we change the brake pads and rotors?
Fantastic video Viktor, just the right speed and full of information!
Thank you for the positive feedback!
Great tutorial.....this is getting added to my library (amongst many of your other videos) for future reference. Thanks!
Awesome, thank you!

Hi, it is under PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM: ADJUSTMENT in the factory service manual.
Love your content. When you say refer to a different video can you link those in the description please? Thanks for the great detailed videos.
Sounds good, thanks for watching!

Does the turning direction change when adjusting the other side of the wheel?
No, the other side adjuster is threaded in the opposite direction, so you still move the screwdriver the same way to adjust.

Is that why it makes a clicking sound is that what it comes from the parking brake
