Great idea. And yes, it is only good for moving equipment around the yard. I didn’t want to do that so I fabricated my own bracket for the same purpose. I can use the receiver in modified. I bought from Wally World the the 2-1/4” square tube with the holes in place. I then bought 1/4”’plate and welded it together. I made one for my Toro and one for my dad’s John Deere. Painted the poor welds so you won’t see them from 30,000 ft.
Good on the fly engineering.
I would paint the trailer hitch a different color so I wouldn't grab it by mistake.

Why not drill new holes inboard from the end? Plus, giving up that hitch length can sometimes complicate maneuverability.
Good advice for the hitch, handy to have on the mower. How do you like your Big Tex trailer? I love mine! They sell them here in North Dakota and Minnesota. I added a pair of Gorilla lift springs so this 66 year old can lift the ramp a lot easier!

Cool mod but Wouldn't this void the hydro gear warranty? As the HST's are being overloaded?
nothings being overloaded
these are not the junky Hydro gear transmissions. They are the Parker heavy duty direct drive units
I have the same mower. How much would you charge to make me that receiver hitch adapter? And keeping the receiver tube slightly longer to accommodate a regular hitch length?
Did samething to my Spartan for same reason.
Hey @themowermedic1 - Is there a trick to getting more/better traction from the rear wheels of a Cub Cadet RZT L 54" mower? I've seen suggestions to air up the rear tires (didn't help) or air down the rear tires (didn't help). I thought I'd come to the expert for the real answer.

Drill a new hole in the piece that you shortened so that you can use it on your truck
that means the hole would be 1/4 from the original hole. thus making the hitch even weaker than what i made it
looks like your driveway needs mowed as well.
