Ooohhhhh.... the rocking. People who don't get seasick will never know how lucky they are. I get sick in my kayak with the slightest chop. Even gotten sick sitting on the floating dock at our beach house. It's one of those genetic blessings that some luck out on and some don't.
Harking back to the past again- For a couple or three years in the 80s we were spinning for codling, in the summer from Newquay harbour and rock there about. And herring with feathers or small spinners.

You are so very lucky to be able to fish in such good waters. I am living in Schleswig Holstein Germany and the Baltic is as good as dead ... There is now a 1 Cod limit .. I would love to be able to go out on a trip with you .. Thanks for making my fishing dreams come true if only virtual..
Cod is my favourite fish, we were in Newfoundland this summer and stayed at a campground on Fogo island that has a cove, the cod chase the Caplin in the cove and when they feed the water would boil, it would last for a minute or two then go calm. Any day fishing is a good day.
I started watching you forage the shoreline then you got a boat. It is nice to see the different type of fishing. I live in Miami Florida where the warm water has a lot of species to choose from. I like watching your videos and learning what kind of fish you can catch and animals you can forage. I am thankful for youtube where I get to see fishing channels from all over the world. Well keep making those videos very educational and entertaining.

Another excellent video. I have been watching your videos while recovering from covid, they really have helped to keep me going. Its good to see you putting lots of your catch back in the sea and only keeping what you like to eat. Your knowledge is amazing, and your sea legs, well enough said! I have been out of Padstow on a couple of boats for Bass and Mackerel and a friend and I had a boat in Swanage Dorset which we would take out as often as we could as I live in Hampshire. It certainly improves the chances of catching something good and different species. These days I only have time to do a bit of fishing from the rocks and beech when on Holiday down on the North Coast of Cornwall. I find it very relaxing even if I don't catch anything, there is always so much to see and hear. As I like eating Mackerel and Turbot which I have often caught then one cant ask for more. I guess I'm easily satisfied. There is nothing nicer than to catch prepare and cook and then enjoy eating something that you have managed to do yourself! I will be looking at more of your videos and thanks very much, keep safe and enjoy your fishing, it really is an education to watch, and perhaps some of the anti brigade should have a look too, they might get some proper education. im sure this has already been said but if you tie a longer retrieve rope to the top of the drogue you can bring it in 'nose first'...much easier. thankyou as always for the vids mate
I am aware but not interested. When you are bringing the drogue in and out as often as I was the faff and tangles another rope causes its not worth it. 👍🏻
Amazing video on a rough sea. Great seamanship my man. Your camera strategy in a small boat with just the right amount of action and commentary, etc. makes your videos captivating. Not sure if it is the same for you, but I think you enjoy the first sight of your fish the most. This is my absolute favorite part of fishing. Used to sea fish years ago but never was much good at it, your videos have sparked my enthusiasm to give it another go! Also, very pleased to see you wearing a life jacket, too many people don't bother and risk drowning in even shallow waters (try swimming in water-logged clothing, you CAN'T!) Keep up the good work bud :)
Thank you and welcome to our channel. I agree 100% about life jackets and really do encourage people to wear them. Swimming in clothes is very difficult like you say, but swimming in very cold waves in clothes is near impossible. They don’t weigh very much and they can save your life!!

Glad you explained how long you were out there, when these vids are edited it looks like you're dragging them in one after another! I don't feel so bad standing there for hours now.
I have started to explain in simple terms how long I have been fishing. I always say in relation to the tide so you will know if you work it out. For example a full tide is 6 hours. So when I say I have fished all of the flood it means I have fished for 6 hours. 👍🏻

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, it reminded me of when I was a youngster like you out in my boat, yours certainly shifts with that big motor, I had a little inboard diesel in my boat. Very wise to come in with that sea building up and the cost of lost tackle. When I did most of my fishing, in the 1960s I sold any surplus fish to the local fishmongers, this more than covered my costs. A pity that you can't do this nowadays. Looking forward to the next video and Jim's cooking one.
So quite a while ago, I watched your tutorial on net weaving, to make a crab pot. I made my own hoop net out of rebar (for concrete) and tied all the netting for it. It was a long journy to completion, but rally worth it. I spent a total of $35, as opposed to $85 for one from a local shop.

Just a thought... If you attach the drogue from the front of the boat you would drift less as the cuddy will not be acting as a sail.
And the filming? The wind being behind the camera? What direction would the fishing lines be going? You see all of what I do is usually for a reason.
Glad you explained how long you were out there, when these vids are edited it looks like you're dragging them in one after another! I don't feel so bad standing there for hours now.
I have started to explain in simple terms how long I have been fishing. I always say in relation to the tide so you will know if you work it out. For example a full tide is 6 hours. So when I say I have fished all of the flood it means I have fished for 6 hours. 👍🏻

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, it reminded me of when I was a youngster like you out in my boat, yours certainly shifts with that big motor, I had a little inboard diesel in my boat. Very wise to come in with that sea building up and the cost of lost tackle. When I did most of my fishing, in the 1960s I sold any surplus fish to the local fishmongers, this more than covered my costs. A pity that you can't do this nowadays. Looking forward to the next video and Jim's cooking one.

So quite a while ago, I watched your tutorial on net weaving, to make a crab pot. I made my own hoop net out of rebar (for concrete) and tied all the netting for it. It was a long journy to completion, but rally worth it. I spent a total of $35, as opposed to $85 for one from a local shop.
Well done. I am glad you found the video helpful. I made something similar for using when fishing off piers for fish like conger eels and Tope. 👍🏻

Was fishing off Whitby a full day, not one fish! 6 miles off the coast around some wrecks.
Whitby isn’t what it used to be. Years of overfishing does that sadly.
