I agree 100% with you. I loved the movie Belle! I would love to see the pink dress like from that movie. I started watching Beauty and the Beast but didn't get very far. I turned it off. I was VERY disappointed!😩 I think in that movie Emma Watson shouldn't have played Belle. I would have went with Emily Blunt, watch The Young Victoria and see what I mean! I hope they don't screw the little mermaid up like that. I haven't even watched Aladdin because im scared to lol. But I know for sure Halle is gonna be Wonderful, especially her voice!🥰 I'm tired of waiting. Emily Blunt would’ve been perfect! and yeah, Aladdin was interesting but definitely not a movie I would want to revisit or watch again compared to the cartoon. Fingers crossed that we get more mermaid updates soon! And thank you so much by the way! 🥰
The most realistic looking tail in a live action mermaid movie was in Splash. Also, it was filmed entirely underwater, with absolutely no CGI. I know they can’t do that with the live action TLM because the characters need to sing and communicate, but entirely CGI looks phony and cartoonish. The underwater scenes in Aquaman are a testament to that.
Absolutely! I had recorded a clip of her to use in this video, but i had forgotten how bare chested she is, ha ha! she’s gorgeous...but the youtube censors wouldn’t be happy about the amount of exposure...but yeah, splash looked 1000% better than aqua man for sure. 🐠
AllisonRose yes, funny enough that’s how touchstone pictures came to be. Disney did not want to have their name attached to a film with nudity. But yes, the tail was fully functional and looked incredibly realistic. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer researched the type of fish in the ocean to create a mermaid tail that would make most sense to her environment. The prosthetic tails they make today don’t match up. Also, I agree that they used too much CGI for the mermaids in on stranger tides.

AllisonRose yes, it’s such a great film. There is a director’s documentary on the 20th anniversary DVD from 2004. I would upload it if I knew how to do that sort of stuff! There were deleted scenes with a sea witch that I’d love to see. They describe that and show clips of it in the documentary too.
Have u seen the tv show Once Upon A Time? In the third season, they had Ariel, Ursula, and others with CGI tails. They kinda glowed but were very pretty. They didn’t look 100% realistical but it worked very greatly. The bra Ariel wears in the show was petty bad. It wasn’t shells. It just looked like a regular bra with pearls and random stuff glued onto it.
