I started by reading the case for heaven a few months ago and am reading the case for christ now. With so many books I read I have a "yeah but what about this angle" and the way Mr strobel pursues these topics, I don't have that. The experts he consults, the questions he asks, help to bolster my faith so I can have increased certainty in the things I have been taught.

@Chrioni Sta Ana no, cognitive dissonance is accepting both as true and being uncomfortable when the two ideas interact because there's a contradiction. I'm talking about unaddressed objections or counter arguments. A book with only one perspective will often give A answer as THE answer and not do enough work to address counter arguments to resolve objections. Strobel in his books objects in a way that answers the objections I would raise so the argument doesn't have any gaps. Very different.

I don't need science to tell me this, only Faith, I would not have the things I do with out him. I'm not rich but ok and thankful for it as well as sorry for my sins of the past. I talk to the Lord on a daily basis and my life is better for it!!!!
Amen! But the Lord loves humanity so abundantly to go the extra miles to redeem us! To the point providing evidence to bring a person to faith because of his understanding and wisdom. Unfortunately so people still won't believe simply because they don't want God!🙏
Amen!!! I Fear many people are missing this! Thinking just believing is enough. We need to REPENT and walk daily with Christ, turning from our old life and being FULLY a NEW CREATION IN CHRIST!! I AM SOOO BLESSED TO KNOW THIS!! I pray for wisdom and courage daily and He has give to me so HE makes the crooked paths STRAIGHT! Praise God!

Hypervigilent distress of pineal gland(with eye-like receptors) during death could cause it to project and look out for a short time. The brain takes at least three days to die completely and stop functioning altogether. So, how do we know that the afterlife really lasts very long?

I did read The case for Christ and it was very interesting. Of course we know from the bible that Heaven is real and that Jesus is at Gods right side. He has made a place for us. You can only get there through accepting Gods gift, His Son Christ, who sacrificed His life for us on the Cross. His blood is what God sees not our sins. Faith in Christ .
Near death experiences are very interesting and they change lives that is for sure. At least the stories I have heard. My grandfather was dying in the hospital many moons ago. Right before his last breath he sat up and pointed and said "it is beautiful ". No one knows what he saw.

NDE's don't prove that anything is going on except possibly a hypervigilent pineal gland projecting upward and outward to see in a very distressed situation. The brain takes a few days at least to completely shut down after death is declared. After that, how long is the afterlife?

@@jimmytaylor1570 The only "evidence" I have is some shapes on a screen that you typed and I read just now, that we call words. You go on and live your life with whatever experiences you have saved in your head, I guess. I meanwhile, live in the physical.
A researcher did a study where he got people, mostly homeless to allow themselves to pass on a scale something like a bed scale they have in hospitals I assume.The table was solid so there was no fluid loss. In every case the bodies lost the tiniest amount of weight at the moment of death. It was in every case. It was the exact same amount lost. He could only presume that it was the soul of the people leaving the bodies.

Good question! We don't. There is no way for us to know. We can believe this in faith but, that can't be confused with knowing.
The problem as I said repeatedly in my own playlist against Strobel is he is a highly acclaimed investigative reporter--or was. And he completely disregarded investigating anything. His lack of journalistic integrity was astounding. His interviewees were largely fundamentalist and his research was from largely fundamentalist books written by those very interviewees which is why I am accusing him of never having been an atheist when he did those interviews. I am researching the claims of those interviewees and it isn't evidence it is speculation and usually bad speculation or flat out untruths. If you research what general consensus of scholars are vs what Strobel's interviewees state you will find quite different opinions. Bascially Strobel's contention was "the fundamentalists said it made sense so it did." He never fact checked or looked for contrary opinions. He offered his own light "what ifs" then just agreed with the counter opinion of the fundamentalist without searching further. And that's the real truth behind his biased book that made him very rich. Cheers, DCF
Why would he interview people he knows he agrees with? The whole point is to find out what the other side says. That is what sceptics rarely do. This kind of thinking is just an appeal to authority and is blocking you from the truth.
@@robertmurray3940 Because if you would actually research every interviewee's claims you would see that he didn't bother to fact check anything. He claims evidence from these interviews when it is speculation and poor speculation based on severe bias of mostly fundamentalists or closely related. If you haven't done the research then you don't get an opinion. I have and have an entire playlist showing clearly and specifically what each interviewee said and if it was actually factual. And here is one example. John McRay stated that a university professor found coins with micro letters stating that the governor Luke specified as being there for the census which Mary and Joseph had to go to bethlehem for. As it was considered that governor didn't come to office until 6 AD traditionally with consensus. His point: "this shows Luke is right all along." That professor was Jerry Vardaman and he was completely found out and discredited because he made the whole thing up. Strobel didn't bother to follow up and see if there was validity to these micro letters on the coins. Because any real atheist and former expert legal journalist would have. As for the why would he do this. Because it was a great marketing tool--hey look and atheist was convinced. And it was novel and it worked didn't it? That's one example and every claim I researched is the same. Go look at my playlist--and by the way--I started that channel trying to be convinced of the legitimacy of the resurrection to reconvert back. As I am an unspecified theist and not the late Hitchens or Dillahunty. And note: research isn't just reading who agrees with you. I read both sides and see which makes sense and has validity. And again if you won't do this then you don't rate an opinion. I've got hundreds of hours if not a thousand behind me. Cheers, DCF

4:57 this is very interesting. It may prove that what we call NDEs do exist in some cases. But I'm not convinced it proves that Christianity is right about everything.
Also, I thought that it would actually be FUTILE for God to show us a miracle or anything like that, because most people wouldn't believe anyway because they hate God so much, right? So are these experiences considered evidence, or not?
The physical evidence while Jesus was on earth was readily witnessed and undeniably experienced by those healed. He was the source of their miraculous healing enabled first by their faith.
Today He is present and operates in a spiritual manner and evidenced by faith. Those who scoff or don't seek Him rely on natural understanding and are unable to discern the spiritual reality and consider it foolishness.
Strobel leaves out various forms of the word "claim" a lot.
I dealt with endless atheists on quora saying we have no evidence. Even when hit with such evidence they still mock me. Kinda hilarious.

Lee is a con man in my opinion. His "evidence" is shotty at best and relies heavily on presumptions and antidotes. He never gives sources for his "scientific" claims. What peer reviewed scientific journals Lee??? And its also interesting that every "case for" presentation is accompanied by a new book.
Have you read his book? Have you follow the 32 pages of footnote’s of his book where you can follow up his sources?
