In 2011 he established the Gary Sinise Foundation with the mission to serve and honor America’s defenders, veterans, first responders, Gold Star families and those in need. The foundation remains committed to finding new and exciting ways to give back to those who sacrifice for our nation and encouraging others to do the same has become his personal quest and what he hopes will endure as a legacy of service to others.

I just turned 72 and have no kids or any close dear relatives. My father is buried at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetary in Dixon, Ca. His gravestone reads "Proudly Served in Two Wars" (WW2 & Korean). In his honor and all military personal who has served and is serving our country...the Gary Sinise Foundation will be the sole beneficiary of all of my assets when I pass away. They are very deserving. I'm proud of my father and I'm sure he would be proud of me.

LT dan was an unforgettable character who taught us how to have hope and find a way to go on living despite the most challenging circumstances that life threw your way.
