- 50% leaner than bacon.
This commercial aired in August 1985. It appeared during a broadcast of "One Life To Live" on KVIA Channel 7 in El Paso Texas. KTSM was the ABC Affiliate in El Paso TX. - Розваги
I found this commercial so funny at the time that I still make Sizzlean jokes 36 years later and nobody ever has a clue what I'm talking about. lol
Ditto
Me too. My daughter was confused the first time a said it to her. 😂
😂That is what I tell my grandkids and little boy they just look at me like what is she saying/mean😂
I still say “move over bacon” to people when they need to scoot over 😄
Same!!!
Me too!!!! I’m á Kindergarten teacher and tell kids that all the time! It freaks them out!!!
Me too…😊
Same here! I also tell people on the trampoline, “Don’t trample fat, trampoline!” Nobody gets it, but I laugh and laugh.
I’m so lonely. 😭
Showed this to my son when he asked why I called him bacon.
Great commercial. Back in the day when the FDA told us fat was bad so we increased sugar intake instead.
Yip. One of the biggest conspiracies of all time.
just saying, they look better then people in 2020
It's been forever since I've heard that "We're Beatrice" bit.
Yup. They're now known as ConAgra Foods.
I remember Sizzlean, I still like bacon better but Sizzlean was good too. That hasn't been around in years.
Oh my god… this commercial has been in my head all these years. I saw it as a kid. However my child brain thought they were saying “Move over bacon! I’ve got something MEATIER!” Now it finally makes sense!!! All these years I thought there was something meaty-er than BACON!!!
They did used to say "meatier". You're remembering an earlier commercial: ua-cam.com/video/a6801d-ll_Q/v-deo.html
😂😂😂😂
Check out The 1982 commercial it says Meatier.
@@tarrded OMG!!! Thanks!!! Now I know I’m not just going crazy!!!
I still say 'Move over bacon' at times.
"Whoa Sis, what's the matter with my bacon!?"
Did anyone else initially think she was the older daughter?
I remember watching this commercial as a child. But watching it now as an adult I can't help but wonder, why the hell did they bother cooking the bacon if they were just going to replace it with Sizzlean?
I want to know how they animated the meat in 1985.
I just want to remind you that KVIA is an ABC affiliate, and KTSM is an NBC affiliate. Thank you once again!
I wonder where the bacon flew to. All these bacon strips flying across the nation...
Epic.
Sizzlelean🤣🤣🤣 nice blade dbad.. have a great day #22adaynomore
I miss this. It was my favorite
Me too! Have you tried sausage strips by Jimmy Dean? Very reminiscent of sizzlelean.
Breakfast Strips
I would NEVER replace my bacon with that!
You must be from the South up north we ate this it was good
One of the most sacrilegious advert slogans EVER! Anybody who tells bacon to “Move over”’ needs to shut their filthy whore mouth! To paraphrase Patrick Swayze in “Dirty Dancing, “NOBODY tells back to move over!”
Sizzlegross!!
Flying bacon.
This was essentially an early version of what turkey bacon is today. It wasn’t terrible tasting, but it definitely wasn’t real bacon.
Never had this one, but that didn’t last long until they discontinued by 1985 or 1986 when Swift was under Beatrice Foods.
My mother bought these a few times. I remember eating some with severe freezer burn. Not good eating.
Good riddance to those filthy culinary heretics!

ConAgra Foods which bought Beatrice Company, successor to Beatrice Foods in 1990, continued the various Swift-Eckruch meat lines, and ceased Sizzlean in late 1990's I believe. Beatrice acquired Swift Meats through their acquisition of Esmark, Inc in 1984.
SIZZLEAN BACON FROM BEATRICE
SIZZLEAN BACON FROM BEATRICE
anandguruji83 You’re right! It was Beatrice. It was originally by Swift & Co., so Beatrice bought the Swift brand, and then slapped it under the Beatrice name, because Swift & Co. no longer exists. Talking about corporate conglomerate here. By the end of the 80’s, Beatrice was bought out by many different companies like ConAgra Foods and others.
That stuff must have been as artificially produced as chicken nuggets, McRib Sandwiches, and Pringles! Just like when Proctor and Gamble was trying to fiddle with how to make an unbreakable potato chip to create Pringles, some execs at Swift were probably trying to work on how to make bacon that won't melt like cotton candy in your frying pan, and so they glued a bunch of pork pieces together minus the fat to create this rubbery contraption!
Please define what “artificially produced” even means. Heavily processed, indeed, but the ingredients were 100% real. It’s not like it was made from plastic.
It was. Beatrice was the Brand name for ConAgra back then.
@@Tornado1994 ConAgra🤣🤣🤣They sound like "Big Ag"!🤣🤣🤣
sizzlebean
Lol
This make me hungry for, You know, BACON!!
Like for Bacon, Dislike for Sizzlean
Ron Swanson does not approve. 😜🥓
So true!
That stuff was nasty

Of Course it was. EVERYTHING ConArga makes is Disgusting. When they were Beatrice Foods, they had Garbage like Hunts Ketchup and Mazola Oil.
