- This is a 1984 tv video commercial from Dunkin Donuts and titled "Time To Make The Donuts". Hope you enjoy the commercial and as always thanks for watching.
I told my son today, "time to make the donuts", he said "What does that mean?", i sent him this link.
I tell my wife n kids the same thing Lol best analogy for going to work in the whole damned world! 😆
Lol, back in 2001 I had roommates from
the West Coast, and I once quoted this commercial and they didn’t know what it meant, either!
The same happened with me!! My dad said “I already made the donuts!” And sent me the link b/c I had no clue what he was saying!! 😂😂😂
Same! My son said "what donuts" 😂🤣
@@rebecca8525 i live in California now and just had to show this to my wife, who is born and raised in LA
I actually work at dunkin doughnuts and start at 4;30am daily . I say time to make the doughnuts daily to my wife as I’m going out the door
I don't know where you punch in every morning, but thanks for getting up so early to make the donuts, brother. Dunkin has been a treat since I can remember!
With just a touch of insanity, mmmm never tasted so good
Based donut-king
My mom says this... She actually sent me the link to the video.. She's got the best work ethic I've ever seen. I love her so much. Thanks mom... For always... Makin' the donuts.
Miss these commercials and back when Dunkin Donuts was good
I remember watching this commercial growing up lol
Pretty bad when you meet yourself on the way to work.
I loved these commercials!
I remember this commercial from when I was a kid; my how things have changed.
I stopped by Dunkin’ Donuts today and asked the young lady behind the counter if I could place an order for specific donuts and she said, “no because we have our donuts shipped in and what’s out is what gets brought in”.
My supermarket now makes the donuts to order and they are so so good.
I work in a grocery store. Can confirm.
Yup, they haven't made their own donuts since the early 90s. They used to be good and now they're trash. Why you think they're just called dunkin now ? 🤔
yeah bad taste
@@GTSN38 Everytime I drive by a dunkin’ I think about your post. until you mentioned it here, I didn’t realize they changed up their name. About two weeks ago, I drove by one that still had the donut in their name, so I went in cuz why not; yeah, they should follow the rest and remove the donut too.
@@rachelrasmussen1101 you don't have to work at a grocery store to confirm this. You just have to shop there or ask the Dunkin workers.
By me they said they're dropped off every Tuesday... Flies all over them in the non covered cabinets and all. Small loose curtain over them each night etc
Before becoming the best assassin in Universe 6, Hit worked for Dunkin Donuts.
Gotta start somewhere
Did he kill them as an assassin with cholesterol overdoses??
I loved this i delivered their newspaper to my local store every morning got a free donut they were awesome. ❤
"Time to grind the crankshafts" was my motto.
I was a kid when these commercials were on tv. Great memories.
Yep I said it in the early mornings too. Now, I'm going to work at my regional convenience store chain and I AM going to make the donut starting at midnight!
Thanks for posting.
The plight of the working man. Much respect
I'm in the multifamily housing industry and I can so relate to Ol'Fred the Baker here. R.I.P Fred much love and respect!
Michael Vale was his name.
What?! 52 varieties?! In 1984?! Where did they all go? It's 2021 and I know of maybe 9 that have endured. Fluctuates for different seasons. Curious of what the other 43 flavors/types where. Sad to see the steadily decreasing choices we have as time progresses.
They were better when the donuts were made on site.
Great commercial!
I still enjoy looking at Fred the Baker’s Dunkin’ Donut commercials
The Wedding Singer brought me here!
I watched this through the end because Lisp loves the donuts.
We all have to make the donuts at some point.
my mom used to wake us up every morning for school by saying “time to make the donuts” and if we were already awake or groggy we’d reply back “but i already made the donuts”
Nice. First saw this one on a website that played old TV commercials.
Lol, I love that commercial!!
I remember as a child watching the big mixer through the glass window while they really made the doughnuts. They had to mix, let rise, then shape and fry the doughnuts. Then, they would decorate the MFs. It's a lost art, but people enjoyed life more because they did more with their hands and were busy and felt needed. Also, the ingredients were not poisonous back in the 70s. Of course my doughnuts were always the pink ones. I didn't care what the flavor was.
Classic!
I like the one where he's walking into the store and sees himself and says I already made the donuts 😂😂
Here I am in 2023 wondering how a guy buys a house making Dunkin Donuts money.
Reagan lol
The same actor also played Sam Breakstone. Breakstone used to make yogurt in addition to the sour cream, ricotta, and cottage cheese that they still make.
This actor is my cousin's uncle. He was frequently acted on television. He once played a man going before a judge. The time to make the donuts was his most renowned role.
Volume needs to come up.
Use sound leveling before you upload so that the "HD" description is true for both picture and audio.
I miss this guy😢
Back when DD cared about donuts.
Now he's making donuts in heaven.😂
Just told my almost 15 year old son about this commercial this morning 😭😭
Face it! Dunkin' Donuts tasted much better when this guy baked 'em!
Classic
❤😒 Those were the days my friend. I don't they never end
❤😊 Freshly baked twice daily.
❤😢 Police officers hearts a breaking across America even as we speak.
This commercial couldn't air nodays people would claim they were violating labor laws or somethings lol
So nice for Dunkin Donuts to admit exploitative employment practices.
Today - "Time to thaw the donuts"
AhhHaa'when ur constantly moving, your making dough, this is how we buy our home, ezy.🤪
He's created a donut time warp.
Wow that guy really hates his job
It’s too bad that Dunkin’ Donuts no longer make fresh donuts in the actual shops anymore. Everything gets baked at a central location and shipped in. Not truly ‘fresh’ anymore.
It’s time to make the donuts
Ahhhhhh, back when there were a really fried. Just see how tasty those look.....
Picture if they decided to bring him
Back in CGI?
Or show his daughter now replacing
Him?
He looks like ron jeremy
The funny thing is, this is exactly what it's like to be an Entrepreneur and build a business. It's not like being an Instagram model!
I live the one where he is coming and going at the same time.. l😁l... I fondly remember going to a dunkin and they would make them to order or you could buy some fresh ones in the case... don't know why they changed but, hands down they were much better than Krispy Kreme... 🍩
This poor guy needs a vacation. He has the thousand yard stare and is just over worked and exploited. You can tell hes in america, no vacation time, expected to have to work in a monsoon...working from the crack of dawn till the evening.. i bet he has to work that many hours to afford a house... Retirement age but still has to work....
Poor dude, i feel so bad for him
Frozen nowadays
mm good
Who else is here because they make donuts for a living?
Too bad now their made in a factory and drop shipped to the store. Stale after 11 a.m.
lucy482 You are wro the to ng
Definitely stale lol I remember when the donuts smelled like tabacco cause people would smoke in the store when I was like 6
😂 I remember going out to breakfast and being so mad at people smoking like chimneys!!! I have no problem with anyone smoking, it just SUCKED when I was trying to enjoy a meal!! How times have changed...
Yeah…born in ‘77…I always say it….nobody gets it….
I’m here because my dad born in 1975 always says it. I thought he made it up lol
I don’t get it
Probably only made 5 dollars an hour
Not bad since minimum wage was 3 dollars in 1984
Capitalism used to be a lot more bold about saying the quiet part out loud.
Nowadays, consumers would be turned off thinking they’re participating in some poor guy like Fred’s exploitation and abuse.
