    We all know what's in that QR-code. We know, Arne. I'm not even gonna check it. But it's 3:20 am, and I'm happy in my bed knowing, that you actually did it) Thank you, I subbed.

    The main use for AMS for me is rollover filament. Add multiple spools of the same color, and it will just run over to the next one automatically when one runs out. Basically gives you a 4kg spool.

    • @Arne.Bornheim
      @Arne.Bornheim  2 місяці тому +3

      True! That’s actually a great use case I should have included in the video….
      Do you use it for real large prints or just because you go through a lot of filament?
      I just took my 2.5kg filament spool on an external holder and put that into the ams 😊 also works great

      @@Arne.Bornheim I use it for large prints where I have a spool that I know won't make it. I hate having a ton of spools with bits of filament.
      Especially if I'm pretty confident that it will run out in a thick part of the print. Occasionally I can see the filament change if it happens on an outside wall or something, but that's pretty rare.

      Thanks for letting me know! it’s definitely a great way to use filament all the way 😊

    AMAZING quality videos, Arne. Truly impressive composition, and I love how you jump around from place to place to keep it interesting. Have you considered building some acoustic panels for the ceiling?

    Don't use the alternative material for the entire support (as that requires filament changes on every layer), but only for the "separation layer" between support and actual part.

    • @Arne.Bornheim
      @Arne.Bornheim  29 днів тому +1

      Thanks! I tried both during the process and both works. Totally understand why only using on the interface makes more sense, because you have fewer filament changes!

    What bothers me about multicolor printing is that people are using it for things where it's actually completely unnecessary just because they can. For example, to put their logo or name on a print. It's a waste of filament.

    • @Arne.Bornheim
      @Arne.Bornheim  2 місяці тому +1

      It’s definitely something that’s great to have. But just because you have it you don’t need to use it on everything.

    Bambo lab printers do waste a lot of filament on color changes, but not all printers do. For example, an IDEX printer has almost no waste on a color change. If you want to make your single extruder printer to have multi-color capabilities then you can use a Palette color changer. They too have almost no waste. Great video, I will be subscribing.

    Hey Arne, I enjoy your vids! One thing I would clarify is that people should only use the support filament as the interface layer, not the entire support structure. Some of your shots show that, but some show using the alternate filament for the whole support structure. It’s not a problem per se, but it’s many less filament changes if you just use the support material for the interface layer, so it saves time and filament.

    • @Arne.Bornheim
      @Arne.Bornheim  2 місяці тому +2

      Thanks! Yeah i tried out both versions: Support material just on the interface and everywhere.
      It definitely saves a lot of Support material and filament changes doing just the Interface 😊

    What happens to the "printer poop" that forms when the filament changes? Could that clog the builds?

    • @andreas.grundler
      @andreas.grundler 2 місяці тому +1

      It is flung away on the A1/A1 Mini. You can build a garbage can to catch it or place a filament box next to it.
      It is rare but it can happen that filament gets stuck and sticks to the print head. The worst case scenario is a blob of doom.

    • @Arne.Bornheim
      @Arne.Bornheim  2 місяці тому

      You can see it when I talk about the filament that’s used when changing. I printed a little container that collects it all.
      A blob is possible but so far nothing has stuck to my nozzle …

    I’m just curious if you use pla and then petg in the Bambu ams does the nozzle temperature need to change when it switches between the pla filament and petg support filament?

    • @Arne.Bornheim
