Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Not cutting all of the milkweed is what I call being a good dad. I remember doing that with my kids when they were that age. Good memories. Enjoy all the time you can with them because they grow up way to fast.
If the milk weed is gone,so are the monarch butterflies
Song is "Try That in a Small Town" by Jason Aldean. Love that song.
If your brake fluid is gone but not on the ground, it's likely inside the booster.
Monarchs are threatened due to loss of habitat, so leaving some Milkweed is beneficial to them 👍🏻
On the classic truck, if you're losing brake fluid but it isn't dripping onto the ground, it may be leaking back into the vacuum booster, which will eventually ruin it.
Could be inside the rear drums too
Could be inside the rear drums too
To add to the other posters, pulll the Vac hose to see if it's oily inside. Usually that confirms its leaking.
Screen shooting this for later. Better check into that, thanks!
@@MillennialFarmer pull the vacuum line to the booster and check for brake fluid in there. It sometimes gets sucked into the engine
What a ride its been, nearly as exciting as Between the Rows, when you guys had that terrible weather and the damage to the old garage, with all the damage to the equipment, it was heart breaking. To see the repairs, the new garage, the new grain bin, its great! Here's wishing you all the best in the construction!
It's been a giant pain but ultimately it may have been a blessing in disguise!
I enjoy his videos, he has a great personality
“Don’t scream about, don’t think aloud just turn your head and baby just spit me out” December-collective soul. I love the guess the tune game
Such a good tune!!
It's not old school because it's from my youth.
CatDog is the most awesome pet ever!
Catdog needs a go pro attached to her/him. It would be neat to see the farm from their view.
It’s good to see you being nice to cat dog. I am the only farmer and rancher I know in my entire area that doesn’t have mice problems. It’s such a simple problem to fix have a couple cats. Mine even have food all day whenever they want but they still murder mice all day long!
Hi Zack. If your Scottsdale brake slave cylinders and brake lines are dry and your are still losing fluid, you may want to check the rear seal on your master cylinder where the brake push rod from the master cylinder mounts on through the vacuum power brake canister. You do this by removing the master cylinder from the vacuum canister and looking inside the vacuum canister. If there is brake fluid in it (most likely on the bottom), or the back of your master cylinder is wet with fluid, then you have found the source of your fluid loss and you will have to replace the rod seal or replace your master cylinder if it is old and crusty.
Thank you!
And the booster if it's been contaminated
@MillennialFarmer he meant to say "old and wrinkly" 🤣
That is likely your problem if you have no fluid on the floor anywhere
@@kylancook3477 Agreed.
you know its good day when you see a new video from millennial farmer!
Harvestorer silos were build using the jack process.
Screw Jacks were bolted to 1st ring in concrete, tied together by drive shafts, powered by a pneumatic motor driven by a big air compressor. Glass laminated steel sheets sealed with what looked like an asphalt cement, bolted together and torqued. Worked building'em briefly during the early 60s. Largest I remember was a 35' by 85' air-tight.
I worked with a Company named,
" Ranch & Farms Agra Systems " out of Nebraska, I believe ?
Many years ago, and we built many, a grain silo !
What you can't appreciate here, is the noise that several impact guns make while inside a silo under construction !
Brought back some good memories, from which I was many years younger !
But don't let anyone tell you it's not work !
Many long Hot days, and too short nights !
it's awesome to see how old school farmer your dad still is, heck with wasting time getting a pull tape, count the steps and know the distance, reminds me of some old farmers I know
In your Chevy truck, the brake fluid probably leaked out the back of the master cylinder, into the brake booster. Remove the master cylinder from the booster, and it’s probably a wet mess in there.
good to see CatDog is around.... still has my vote for the breakout star of the summer. (sorry Jim)
We need CatDog Merch
CatDog has my vote also, shes awesome🙂ok so is Jim but.....
Jim still may get stuck if they actually get rain…. Love catdog
Cat dog is a cutie hope he or she can stay around for awhile!!
What an incredible cat. Really a once in a lifetime special little catdog.
Calm and cool Catdog makes the regular dogs seem like they are hyperactive, LOL
Great video Zach can't wait for the next one
Its awesome to finally see a new grain bin finally going up.
When I watch your program I’m reminded how easily it will be for you to 100% electric😂
Good to see a video from you Zach really like watching your new grain bin going up when I was a young man I used to build them in the 70
The new bin looks great enjoyed it was outstanding love the sprayer and the chem trailer thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video thank you Zach and Becky always a great video
One big bin. Thank you for sharing this with us 😊😊😊
check the vacuum booster for break fluid. New bin is a monster.
You are one cool and awesome dad!
That looks like a really nice bin. Dam it's big. Between the rows, well, good job Onyx. Makes dad really proud for sure.
Great video good to see y'all
If only we could get someone to show certain politicians how to use stairs correctly 8:17 😂
There always that one piss ignorant clown that brings politics into everything
Lucky Isla, you're a good Dad Zach.
Please thank Miss Becky for her excellent editing skills. WE love your videos. I've learned more about farming the last 2 years than I have learned from my Grandfather in 14 years. Thank you very much.
Love it. You connect us to our food. Such a privilege.
Exciting to see a Grain Ben going up in your yard. Thanks for sharing. It was nice to see your new shed finished and great concrete pads to put new shelves on.
Looking good. 👍
Love bin builds
Way back (late 70's) when I was in college, worked a couple of summers putting up bins. Bigger than this one, most were 100 feet in diameter. Traveled from Illinois to Washington state, North Dakota to southern Texas. Worked sun-up to sun-down 12-14 days straight at a site, had 5-6 days off. Paid $20/hr first 40/week on the clock rest in cash. Paid for 2 years of college.
Thanks for showing how they moved the bin up.
That red semi is looking sharp with that buff and wheel polish you did!
He is very inspiring, I admire his passion
It's amazing that I finally learned what those stairs things are used for, reaching higher heights...Wow !
Personally, loved Zach’s back-handed reference. . . . .
🤣👍
The song you were singing was December by collective Soul.
Great job keep up the great work love your videos thank you
That's a top shelf bin!
I love these videos.
Great video. Awesome to see your Dad doing great with his knees.
He is very inspiring, I admire his passion
I love those sprayers. Very impressive machines
Good job I love your videos
You could always load the trucks facing east instead of west. That way the front truck would be filled out of the side draw and has plenty of room to pull head and/or pull out as it gets filled faster.
probably has one direction stuck in his head
I was thinking that if you have it to go the way the trucks normally fill then they could go the other way if needed
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
You new grain bin is a big one. Wow.
Thanks for showing us how they build the bin and how the rings go in from the bottom up. Interesting.
Good crew doing that. Will be nice when it is all done.
The service work you did on the bush hog mower worked out good. Really knocks down the weeds and small brush.
Your new sprayer and spray trailer work great together. Makes spraying a lot easier.
Thanks for everything Zach.
Really like your new bin setup.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
I am only 6’ wide brush mower. New blades last year. 15’ looks like fun.
Zach.... Another great video! It's cool to watch the crew "raise" your new steel bin! Catdog is AWESOME! Anna and Didge are cool too! Until your next video ~~~Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🚜
Great video!
Awesome video as always Zach.
I bet you guys are going to be very happy when you have that new grain bin built and up and running. Also on a different note I'm glad to see Onyx really stepping up with his racing. I see him going places in the future. Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you for the video.
Thanks for sharing
Have you seen the new “robots” of sorts that they have now that drive around the top of the grain inside the bin so farmers don’t need to go inside and dislodge or breakup clumps? Pretty cool tech for farmer safety.
His insights are very appreciated, he is very knowledgeable
After seeing cornstars bin ladders and walkways falling apart, yours is really awesome 21:48 to see👍😎
Yup, had that on a Ford, all the fluid is in the brake servo....or booster as you guys call it.
Had that happened a couple of times, no brakes at all on a 70's Ford.
You just need another brake master cylinder.
I’m 16 so I’m probably wrong but I think the song 14:20 is December by collective soul
Machos, working sun up, to sun down, nice work force!!! N.P...... Gracias!
Ik you guys are always busy, but I miss multi videos every week. Lol you guys are one of my favorite farmer youtubers to watch then it's larsons, welkers. Keep up the great work! From your fellow state fan cheesehead Wisconsin.
He is very creative, I like his style
Spraying cotton in North Carolina. Love the videos.
Of course the bin crew didn't work Sunday, that's when they have an AWESOME barbecue!
Source: years of working with such crews in the Napa Valley and eating some of the best BBQ I have ever had, despite not being able to talk to half of them... Lol
Always love your videos, I'm always learning something from you about farming in the 21st century.
I worked for a buddy’s dad over a few summers in HS building and tearing down bins. Still one of the favorite-est jobs I ever had. Our jacks were hand crank though, none of that sissy hydraulic stuff! 😂
Great video Zach
I construct sukup and gsi grain bins back in the 90s and early 2000. We were out of Illinois and we'd go as far as north Dakota's to south of southern Mississippi. Love building them.
Zach, you and your family are amazing people!!! It would be awesome if we could all hang out sometime. ❤❤❤
The one had to be stairway to heaven since you got the new up stairs on the new bin. I think it was actually the director’s cut with the impact wrench melody at the end
Just keep up the good work and everything will work out.
Good luck getting your bin built Zach
Choice. Looking good dude!!
The break fluid is inside of the break booster , now that's a fun job 😀
Zach, your videos are awesome. Thank you for educating non-agriculture people about our way of life. I commend you for taking your daughter hunting for caterpillars. Takes a good father to admit that!
That’s sweet with bigger diameter bin .Good luck on your fall harvest.
thank you
I’ll call you exactly what you are. An awesome father
I enjoy his videos, he has a great personality
Woohoo! Progress on the great rebuild-shuffle!
He always delivers quality content, I respect his work
thanks
Settle down there Corn Head... Yer gonna make cab corn. Lol
@MillennialFarmer On your orange pickup, since the brake fluid is missing and there is no sign of external leak, it is very likely that is has all gone inside of the break booster. I would remove the vacuum line from the booster and dip something in through hole and see if it comes out wet. If it does then you know the booster failed and that is where your fluid went. You would then need to replace the booster with a new one.
Great show keep it going😊
That bin is going to be huge!
Finally a videooooooo!!!
Love the bad jokes and dry humor 👍
Check the brake booster on the brake fluid loss. Sometimes it can leak into the booster and gets drawn into the intake through the vacuum line.
Love it that is awesome
Nice bin
Awesome video Zach. 🚜🚜🚜
On the old truck, if you have power brakes, you probably have a master cylinder leak. The fluid leaks unto the vacuum chamber and sucked into the engine where it's burned up. Change the master, they don't cost a lot. Don't forget to bench bleed the master before you install it. Utube it if you're not sure about using the little recycle tubes.
Now you got a nice new bin to play around in, ain't that going to be fun
Did you see the cornstar bin failures with not enough concrete footings around the outside of the slab. The weight of the bin is on the outer foot and its not thick enough to support the bin and the weight of the grain.
Because cole the corn flake thought he be a general contractor Cut every corner he could and hired the absolute cheapest low rent contractors he could. He brought it all on himself. Zack is smart enough to let the professionals do it.
Great to see 👍
So much room for activities!!!
"Keep it between the rows."
And Watch out for Deers.
The way your so nice to those workers is nice
You probably have the truck brake issue figured out but in case you don’t ….your brake booster is the problem , that’s where you will find the brake fluid . Fix it and you’ll be way ahead of where you were .
Amazing video keep it up
Nice bin. That is a big one.
When the corn was loading from the conveyor and you were talking to dad at the top of the truck it felt like the Dock scene in Jaws when they are loading Quint's Boat!!!!!
Check the carpet under the drivers side, as well as the firewall on the squarebody! If it's vacuum boosted make sure it didn't leak into the booster.
Check the passenger side carpet as well, for a leaky heater core while you're in there.
