You literally forget what you consciously and actively want to do sometimes as soon as you walk through a door. A subliminal message would disappear as soon as it's sent and with it the purchase intent. It is why visual availability nudges work ONLY when you make the decision (buying the candy that is obviously tempting you by the queue). Of course it may be possible that seeing more candy stores that day might prime you into actually buying candy. But factors like your diet, your mom's reaction, your religious belief, your natural needs and cravings and the situational availability of funds and actually being in a shop that sells candy will be what makes the purchase happen. Simply put, if you used subliminal messaging, you'd be outcompeted by everything else in changing consumer behaviour.

You passed by theories, but what about subliminal applications for personal growth? I have been researching and applying subliminal since 11 years ago from a scientific perspective. All that I can say is that the Subliminal is a door to the unknown within us if it is well engineered.
Subliminals will never wok in marketing because there are too many variables and buyiing the product is not one. It's not easy to impress your subconciousness, if that was the case, we would all be millionaires just by listening to wealth subliminals. It does affect us, but not in the way its 'supposed' to. Subliminals stays with you for a very short period of time, science says about 10-15min and you cant do much in 10 minutes, on the other hand, if you listen to it consistently, it should show impressive results but the problem is when you start listening to it consistenly on purpose, you become very aware of what you're doing and that alone will block you from impressing your subconscious mind, though there are ways but 10sec ad, no, dont be afraid of that, subliminal marketing ads wont affect you at all.
Must buy SciShow merch.... Must buy SciShow merch.... Must bu... hm? No.. it's not a subliminal message making me do it... you seen those T shirts? Must get one of those!
Wait a second, how would they even display these messages? It has to be at leas 1 frame, right? So even at 60 fps we should be able to realize there is something wrong/poppping up.
It isn't actually sanctioned by disney. It's inserted by bored, overworked, underpaid, and abused animators looking to get back at the company in the only way they can.
they prey on human weakness. everyone thing about sex, vet food burgs, drugs, and other things that is what the play with. not with what we don't want but that what we want. and shouldn't be eating ore doing. or ad least with in sens. and not under the control and understanding of anyone but your self!
Not quite so simple as she states it! Think of someone addicted to some food, habit, substance. They are already motivated all the time. They just need exactly that little push to buy what they are addicted to so quitting something gets difficult if you are constantly bombarded by subliminal messages. And no, words don't do the trick but images... somehow better. So... we are all the time already motivated emotionally to buy and consume stuff. That sbliminal and supraliminal stuff can do a lot more than we'd like to accept.
The problem with all of this is that in every example you showed the duration of exposure is extremely miniscule. (I mention but one of the several variables related to the examples that I would call into question). This speaks to a wider problem with scientific analysis in general. It is a mistake to assume that by using a particular test and looking for a particular answer, that failing to get that answer, the entire thing is debunked. For example: Experiments involving long-term exposure with many, many repetitive re-inforcements, either with or without the participants' knowledge, would more than likely be unethical, and as far as I am aware no such studies have even been attempted. Therefore, saying subliminals do not work because that one particular type of methodology showed it didn't, is a false assumption. It has been demonstrated over and over that when you change the test, or look for a different thing, it often results in wildly different conclusions. I would therefore suggest you are making the same mistake and using the term "truth" quite loosely.
We are visual creatures. We take in 100 percent of both audio and visuals. Now their brain stores all info and we can retrieve when needed. So yes it works. Now we also know Hypnosis only works on certain individuals and maybe this is also true about subliminal. However, why do they have advertisements and icons? Because people remember these and they are etched into the mind. So if this is why they are used then the other is also true.. Now she makes a statement about if we are already addicted to lets say water or alcohol then maybe a ice cube with death or being in prison then maybe the user will be imprisoned to use spirits. By the way they use the word spirits because they believed in a magic of how distillation is used. So some believe that spirits are conjured up or consumed when they are consumed... Not what I believe but what others believe. However, that doesn't make it untrue.
I get more annoyed with commercials entirely about leading your actual experiences- say, a soda commercial that goes on about how your mouth is so dry, so thirsty, so parched, why aren't you drinking anything? Don't you realize how thirsty you are, how your mouth must be like cotton right now? Should probably buy our product, unless you hate yourself. It's less of an advertisement and more of an attempt to argue 2+2=5, or even some manner of a protection racket. It's annoying when you are thirsty, because it makes it worse, but is insufferable when you're not thirsty. Hell, if you're not sure if you are thirsty or not, it's meant to take you off the fence in the same way you don't question little Timmy's safety at his friend's house until a scaremongering film goes out of its way to show all the horrible things that could happen if you take your eyes off Timmy for one second. I guess you could actually call it "thirstmongering" or "hungermongering." You're not you when you're hungry, right?
How bout a video about the polygraph? And not just how it works, but why people think it works - to the point that employers, journalists, and law enforcement still use it - when it's been debunked to the point that it's inadmissable as court evidence?
I know a lot of ppl will come at me for saying this, but I’m a little sceptical about subliminals. And for the ppl who use them for weight loss and stuff, I think it’s more of a result of the placebo effect
I'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't any subliminal advertising in this video. Guess I'll have to console myself with one of the many fine products made by Big Sky Brewing.

It isn't actually sanctioned by disney. It's inserted by bored, overworked, underpaid, and abused animators looking to get back at the company in the only way they can.
Uuuuh, nice sources you have there!
they prey on human weakness. everyone thing about sex, vet food burgs, drugs, and other things that is what the play with. not with what we don't want but that what we want. and shouldn't be eating ore doing. or ad least with in sens. and not under the control and understanding of anyone but your self!
The truth is that you become a snail.
Somebody would notice the frame no matter how many fps
This woman speaks so fast that it's a little hard to follow her 😰
Lol
Youre probably an english learner
🔱🙏 Yes dear, it is hard to follow her .......
Advertisements at minimum do make me look into a product and company and check reviews of it....
Look really closely at Wendy, and ask yourself, "do I trust this woman to feed me?"
The legend of the power in the age of rumi nation IS the power
Damn, guess I’m gonna turn into a snail now
Not quite so simple as she states it!
They do work… one coke can in a film… Don’t let them fool you.. product placement is the same thing… LG on you tv… it’s all subliminal.
Subliminal advertising? That's just a load of rich, creamery butter.
I really like (comment and subscribe) this video. What was that?
I got an ad for the agency that prevents bad advertisements
And not just how it works, but why people think it works - to the point that employers, journalists, and law enforcement still use it - when it's been debunked to the point that it's inadmissable as court evidence?
in america you can't be polygraphed unless it's for a very serious job, i.e. the FBI
Scilluminati confirmed :)
I'll see myself out lol
She said doesn't work so must be true.
I want popcorn now
So does it actually work or not?
I know a lot of ppl will come at me for saying this, but I’m a little sceptical about subliminals. And for the ppl who use them for weight loss and stuff, I think it’s more of a result of the placebo effect
How can I tell that YOU are telling the truth HM?
It's the quenchiest!
Please do: is hypnotism real , next :)
in clinical studies, there iS AT best A Negligible eFfect Upon Cognition and Knowledge aS a result of anY Ostensible sUbliminal messaging.
can u remake this
I'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't any subliminal advertising in this video. Guess I'll have to console myself with one of the many fine products made by Big Sky Brewing.
So they flash hersheys chocolate an know one bought it so i guess subliminals dont work. Then they play trailers for the next movie coming out and everyone goes to see it.
oh wow i'm gonna try this!
Dont try to tell me its not work
How does this make me turn into a snail
I have never disagreed with a SciShow episode. This needs more research because colors and so much more subliminal adverts are sucessful. Ice Cube Sex: The Truth about Subliminal Advertising is a prime example and thus needs further exploration.
BTW, anyone that gets 'thirsty' (which is all humans) will be susceptible to this advertising.
+Kelsey KINE hurr durr corps control us hurr durr
Colors aren't subliminal. Subliminal messages are not consciously noticed. You can perceive color.
Thirty three subjects as a sample of the population in such tests is way too small to get an accurate result.
Read this comment.
Goddammit you made me do it, Cars!
I can't read.
Superliminal messaging at its finest.

There's this new movement online that use subliminal messages in audio, in music.
