I was a teenager when I watched APC open for NIN twice during the Fragility 2.0. tour. They played Mer De Noms in it's entirety! The musicianship was top notch, and sounded just like/if not better than the album. NIN was also on point as well. What a great tour!! Awesome interview, and very insightful. I didn't know Billy filled in for bass for GNR after Duff left.
Every lineup of apc was tight af. But I saw the 1st and 2nd lineup and damn with Paz and Troy the shit just hit different.
I seen those shows and yeah like tool love it sounded like the 💿
Mer De Noms=best album ever😩
That was a great tour - My seats weren't even that great and it was still killer.
Billy's compositions are amazing. And he's extremely humble.
Nice to see he's finally doing a new album and not waiting for Maynard to want to do another APC record.
Guitar Tech for Tool then Song Writing Guitar Slinging Master for APC.
I will forever eternalize APC Madison Nov.2018.
Anecdotally, MJK said, and I quote "Love is the answer but with all this pot smoke I forgot the question"
Puscifer Chicago JUL 2, 2022.. cant freakin' wait.
Billy is maybe the nicest guy in the biz. I met him twice at a Big Milk concert back in the early 2000s and the guy gave me a hug simply based on us being mutual friends with someone. I'm forever a fan.
can't wait for his album and some new apc this year or next too
Lived in Chicago drove to Milwaukee to see APC. Such a tight band. Beautiful is all I can say. You can tell Billy pulls from Gilmore......totally. I knew this..........now I am concurred.
BRING HONOUR BACK HOME BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM
So cool to see billy interviewed on Revolver. Love all the interview podcasts
Much respect for Billy! He is such an incredible musician and seems like a really cool guy.
Was very stoked when I saw this video pop up in my suggested. Have always been a huge fan of Billy and his music. It was also very cool to hear him mention Jerry Cantrell and Greg Puciato who I am also huge fans of.
I should have figured three incredibly talented musicians like themselves were all friends and hung out with each other. Would like to see Greg on the show again or Jerry for that matter!
Love ineffable 💔
Great interview and absolutely fucking incredible artist man. Mer De Noms is absolutely the world to me. I kind of can't believe one of his biggest albums was Ok Computer. I hope he knows that fellow Radiohead fans put his work right next to Radioheads best too. On my wall are very few vinyls. Mer De Noms, In Rainbows, Ok Computer, Thirteenth Step, some Tool obviously and just a few others. I connect with Mer De Noms like almost nothing else. I can feel the shit out of that album. It is a masterpiece. Lusciously colorful and I am surprised to hear he didn't have much imagery in his mind while writing. I see an entire colorful world when hearing his stuff. All of his work is great... but as they say... you have your whole life to write your first record. And man... I really dig what he gathered up that whole time. I do not even come from the same musical background at all. I listen or listened to basically nothing that inspired him. But whatever his particular style or spin is.. it's gorgeous. It makes perfect sense to me why maynard played it super cool in the beginning. I bet you any fucking money he was actually quietly blown away but just played it cool when talking to billy about it. Man... you have Magdelena, Rose (I have to listen to every single live version of this song especially because the way it ends is just so beautiful every time)... 3 libras, brena, Thomas.. dude ever song is gorgeous. The recording was natural and loose but superb and luscious.... Thirteenth Step is up there too man. Gravity, The Package, The Noose... Dude is a musical genius and I hope he is only recognized more and more for it. I've been busy but I am going to get into the new album asap too. Thanks for the interview, and thanks billy. Absolute inspiration.
Love Billy and how he interviews, not to mention how he plays 🔥 Always articulate, thoughtful and involved in the interview.
If you haven’t heard “Diary Of A Lovesong” do it! It’s rad.
I'm surprised he didn't put his cover of The Chain on his new record. That was such a rad song he did live in Ashes Divide
One of my favourite musicians, A Perfect Circle had redefined, refined and elevated alternative rock and rock music in last 2 decades.
Couldn't have said it better myself. During the time of rap rock and nu metal, a perfect circle wasn't the hero we needed. They were the hero we deserved lol
Absolutely amazing, Billy is such an all around superb individual!! I seen A Perfect Circle in 2000 in Atl, Ga. that was an amazing experience! This guy knows how to make some music, always pushing himself and being the innovator, expanding the known boundaries of contemporary awareness! Great interview, thanks for getting him on!!
The Fragility 2.0 stop here in GA?? Still in my top 10 all-time
i really hope that if apc comes back that danny lohner is in the band. they have teased him being in the band like on the leno appearance, almost joined on 13th step, he's all over emotive, and he produced this new billy album. he's a powerhouse. if apc comes back, its gotta be with danny lohner in the band.
Love this series, thank you
the late 90s and early 00s were the sht
Thanks for doing this. Your interviews are becoming a regular watch for me.
This guy is awesome, been a TOOL fan since the very beginning and absolutely LOVE APC as well.Just wish MAYNARD didnt hold EVERYONE up everywhere!
Great interview as always Christina, great questions and respect for the artists! Love Billy, can't wait for the album!
Such a talented, enthusiastic interviewer, always worth a watch.
I’m really curious as to what ever happened to Ashes Divide? There was supposed to be another album, but it seems to have been forgotten about.
Hey Heath, so this new one is basically the second Ashes Divide album. That was essentially a moniker for his solo work, but he decided this time to just go under his own name. :)
Good interview. Even though the interviewer was making me cringe sometimes but overall well done.
❤️❤️❤️
Christina, the "What would your teenage self think of this?" question really made this whole interview for me. Billy's reaction to that question and his answer are just phenomenal and inspiring. Ideally, you want every musician to release something that they feel their teenage self would be impressed by and would love to listen to. I really love that thought.
APC tour when though???
he jammed the fck out on thomas esp live and the outsider
Billy reminds me of the ancient Egyptian priest’s. Or those same Egyptian priests of the underworld = while finding Vincenzo Galilei! Vibrational frequencies and Lute theory. Between the [strings/Time&Space] mapping 😜 Space.
To Billy;(Ghost of the Geisha Girl) =She was a back seat driver. See her in your review mirrors!
New drinking game: take a shot every time the interviewer says “yeah”. 😂
Glad his basement bathroom(?) has good wifi reception
Josh Freese is the best dude ever.
Oh :Concrete Blonde? (Ghost of the Geisha Girl )

Every time I watch this woman talk she constantly interrupts people with idiotic comments like "HUNDRED PERCENT!" over and over and over so I'm going to stop watching this woman talk.
