I was born in June of 1960. I’ve lived my whole life in the most western tip of Western Kentucky. As a kid I never saw a wild deer or a turkey. Turkeys didn’t get reintroduced too my area until I was an adult. I don’t remember the exact year but I had been married for several years. The deer and turkeys are thriving here now due to conservation efforts by the state thanks to hunters.
Well I was born in Pa Nov 25 th n in 1968 my father's job moved our family to Ballard county in far Western KY. There were plenty of deer but no Turkeys can't place the year but some of my hunting buds were seeing turkeys in the Mississippi river bottoms. Tim Wells came through my area one time in Louisburg NC and I heard he was coming through so I waited to see when he came by. I saw him coming down the long road that goes by my house and flagged him down. It was a short and sweet meeting. I asked him if he had his Bow with him and he said sure I do, I don't leave home without it. There was a strong tail wind behind us, maybe 30mph. Turkeys were awash down the hill on my buddy's land 1/4 mile away. I called him on the radio and asked for a corordinance to which he replied and acted in kind. I asked Tim to take a shot and he said, I can't even see the bird, and I gave him the corordinance. Tim got his Bow out and aimed for the sky. He fired his Bow with bare fingers and his arrow flew true according to the wind. Tim left shortly after, within a few minutes. Dr responded over the radio and said that it was a clean kill. The arrow passed clean through the turkeys neck beheading it and killing a copperhead just behind it. He made a 438 yard shot and killed the Turkey and cut the copperheads head off before he killed the Turkey. What a conservationalist ! Saved a Turkey, killed a copperhead and was gone before we had a chance to clean and eat the Turkey ! Thanks, Tim !

Holy $h!t man!!! For once a product name actually lines up with what it does... LOL It really sucks down here in Louisiana during turkey season. By the time they open it up birds aren't gobbling anymore and they don't decoy worth a damn. They say the reason for our late season opener is because they don't think we have enough Toms down here so opening the season late means not as many will get killed but it's been like that for the last 7 or 8 years and I've seen tons of Toms all year long during deer season. I still end up killing at least 1 a year but there's a bunch of leg work involved scouting and it's not as fun as when they're gobbling and strutting around.
