I’ve been trying to find strategies around that myself in order to try and take out some of my invasive grey squirrels and rabbits in my area ( using blunted small game heads of course). The only thing I can think of at the moment is going early in the morning once I’m good enough with my bow.

It's difficult to see iguanas killed when I've only ever seen them as pets. But I know what invasive species do to every other animal in that ecosystem and it can be catastrophic. The word catastrophic, here, means native species up and down the food chain will die off. The animals living there for as long as nature made them will be gone unless the government decides to fund conservation efforts, which they probably don't care about. Long story short: If you love your pets and their species, please PLEASE be responsible for them! Nature is not going to make up for your mistakes.

I have the leopard blow gun and the longer razor tip arrows and LOVE IT. That thing is FAR more powerful than folks originally think before they try it. It's also dead accurate with a little practice.
I have the black 5 foot cold steel big bore blowgun, and the sharp razor darts, it’s a good deal 40 of the best hunting darts for 27 dollars, at the time I bought them

You don't know how reproducing under pressure works. Its like for Hogs. As more you hunt them and reduce there numbers the faster they reproduce. Especially in an perfect sorounding like Florida.
@@Zozo806 not really. Their reproducing rate only goes down when they lack of preys. So it means that if you don't hunt them down to reduce their population rest of wildlife is gonna be endangered.
I been using 1/4 inch electrical conduit tube (5 feet long) and homemade darts fashioned from bike spokes. Make the cones with playing cards and super glue. Having a blast slocking rabbit. Getting pretty damn good too. Would love to go on a hunt with you sometime Tim.

have you tried to make the darts so the plastic part easily detaches from the metal part once it hits the water reducing drag, the plastic part could stay on the line kinda like a slip bobber.
When you think about it. It makes since warm weather plenty of food and places to hide, in Florida . Plus native predators have no idea what they are & don’t consider them food

I love all the blow gun/fish hawk videos! I am curious how do you keep the darts from sliding out when you tip it down? Was thinking of putting tape in the end to help hold it. Not sure if it would work yet.
By the help of either friction alone if the diameters match perfectly or by the use of some cotton to create a ligth but effective seal around the "orange cone" at the end of the dart. Although usually, when you buy the blowgun and use the darts that came with it or order darts specifically made for your blowgun, the friction between the cone shaped stabiliser and the tube is perfect. Not too tight so that the dart doesn't just get stuck in the tube or lose momentum drastically, but not too loose to fall off. I like your idea of using tape, but it migth not be the best idea to cover the hole you're trying to blow air in, with a piece of tape lol. Hmm, maybe tape with holes in the middle? The only part you don't want to block is the center of the tube.

I know its a fine line with friction to hold and to slow it down but maybe the blow gun needs to be .49 inches first few inches and then .50 to fly. Taper the mouth piece end a little to something smaller.

No permit necessary to kill these invasives, only need landowner permission. So yes, statewide, and year round, kill away Edit: oh, and Florida says you cannot kill them via poison, drowning, or freezing. Any methods in this vid are fine, tho

When you think about it. It makes since warm weather plenty of food and places to hide, in Florida . Plus native predators have no idea what they are & don’t consider them food

@@albertvanlingen7590 I’m in western New York. The only Invasive species I’ve noticed are those black European birds and gobies whenever I’m fishing. That warm weather is prime invasive territory. Winters offs most new creatures that try to make a home here.
Side note: I’m sure your invasive species are having a lot more fun than any animal in a zoo. Zoos are animal prison. But I get your point

I love all the blow gun/fish hawk videos! I am curious how do you keep the darts from sliding out when you tip it down? Was thinking of putting tape in the end to help hold it. Not sure if it would work yet.
By the help of either friction alone if the diameters match perfectly or by the use of some cotton to create a ligth but effective seal around the "orange cone" at the end of the dart. Although usually, when you buy the blowgun and use the darts that came with it or order darts specifically made for your blowgun, the friction between the cone shaped stabiliser and the tube is perfect. Not too tight so that the dart doesn't just get stuck in the tube or lose momentum drastically, but not too loose to fall off.
I like your idea of using tape, but it migth not be the best idea to cover the hole you're trying to blow air in, with a piece of tape lol. Hmm, maybe tape with holes in the middle? The only part you don't want to block is the center of the tube.
@@Timothy-Clifford The darts made for and bought from Tim slip through. I think I will try tape in the inside. I know its a fine line with friction to hold and to slow it down but maybe the blow gun needs to be .49 inches first few inches and then .50 to fly. Taper the mouth piece end a little to something smaller.

i'm happy tim on the blow guns i just bought one from you it cool and the design is nice thank you for the blow gun timmy wells - got a ghillie suit it might work out in the field this fall season - so im looking forwards in going hunting some part time owrk in the woods
so in Miami is it like open hunting season year-round? or do you have to have a permit because I've heard of people getting a bag with a weight limit?

No permit necessary to kill these invasives, only need landowner permission. So yes, statewide, and year round, kill away
Edit: oh, and Florida says you cannot kill them via poison, drowning, or freezing. Any methods in this vid are fine, tho
