Here in Ireland we don't have wild turkeys, farm turkeys yes but no wild ones. We are better for water fowl, big game like deer, pig and fishing. But our game fowl are: Pheasants Bog Grouse Red legged Partridge Grey Partridge : not hunted because its a protected species Extinct Capercaillie : extinct in Ireland but is going to be introduced in the near future
Not everyone hunts just for the trophy, I hunt because I eat the meat that I get from it. Our butcher is a really good guy and plus we don't have to buy meat from somewhere else whose care might be questionable. People who don't hunt talk about how evil we are but they'll never understand, it's fun because of the memories and the feeling of eating something you earned. Sure you can just buy meat but truly earning it is an amazing feeling. Plus if you hunt with a relative it's an amazing bonding experience. I'm proud that my dad is teaching me, me and him have never felt closer than we do out in the woods. To all non hunters, please lay off real hunters. We work hard to kill our food, it is not easy but it's very rewarding. We're not all about cruelty, we don't want them to suffer.
as ive said before, buying grocery store meat is less humane than hunting is. The animals are abused in those factories and mass slaughtered suffering a slow death sometimes and purchasing it supports+expands it. a wild animal that lived a proper free life that is put down instantly with the appropriate caliber provides organic meat and little to no suffering. These people are uneducated emotional hypocrites and if they are vegans then they should be going after factory produced meat and not hunters.
Thank you. I hate people puttning hunters and poachers in the same category. Real hunters use all if not most of the aniaml they hunt, and they hunt to eat it, and use its part not just to mount an animal on the wall
Can't people just watch the video instead of pointing out all the flaws in the comments? And if you hate hunting, why click on a video about hunting? Let you have your opinion and us hunters have ours. Great vid btw. Lol
Wow, great video. I like the way you contrast the quick shooting and blasting away in the first part with the calm and mature single kill shots on those birds in the second part. You really do a good job hunting to let them come in and let everything unfold and let that bird present you with a good, clean kill shot. Those birds are really beautiful, but not very smart. I saw a scientific video once that showed that a turkey will hump a bucket with a stick taped to it for a head. They don't need much of a decoy to trigger their instinctual brains to do its thing. (I don't hunt them, so I don't know really how it goes). But perhaps those beautiful decoys are more to sell on the hunter than on the birds??? Either way, it must have been a great rush to have those birds come in and for the tom to fight with the decoy like that. It reminds me of the "bully gets owned" videos that one can see on UA-cam, but that bird must have thought that he just got his ass owned by the decoy right when you shot, like a sucker punch that came out of nowhere. Enough with the ranting, again great video and tons of respect for you and how you conduct yourselves, great representation of an honorable hunter.
i know im randomly asking but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Alonso Adrian i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I find it funny how people are saying we are just killing animals just for fun, when they don't bother watching your videos on how to clean the animals you kill. like the how to clean a turkey video, it only has 244k views. ignorant people
+Ron Perera If you're talking about the first turkey, he waited until the jakes and the hens were out of the way before he shot. It is common to hit more than one turkey with one shot if they are standing next to each other. I filled both my tags with one shot in the first 45 mins last year (2 mature goblers), so he was just trying to avoid collateral damage to unwanted game and to his decoy.
+Kendall Thurn what do you use to kill it with?i know with a gun or bow but like im saying does the pellets from a shotgun shell end up all in the meat or what? a bow shot would be more quite and if your a good shot, it wouldnt suffer.
I don't know anything about hunting, just watched out of random curiosity. What confuses me is why he waited for ages when there were a bunch of turkeys just a couple of metres away for ages? Could he not have just easily killed any of them at any point during that clip? The only thing I can think is that after setting up at dark and waiting there patiently for hours he wanted to savour the bit where the turkeys were actually close rather than just having a few seconds of that after all the preperation?
People here say this isn't "hunting." Can some of these people come on here and define exactly how these people are supposed to hunt these turkey? I assume these people who have alternative ways of hunting would have actually carried out these purposed "hunting" solutions rather than just be arm chair commandos?
This is a little bit over the top as far as what's involved in harvesting one of these dumb birds. These guys with the $2000 + shotguns. Ya just don't need all that fancy crap. A+ fer effort... just unnecessary imho
Hello, I go hunting with my stepdad and we turkey hunt and deer hunt I do not recommend shooting sticks because it's harder to hold down without it hurting when you shoot. I recommend using your knee as a stabilizer.
I recommend shooting sticks. I personally use the Primo trigger stick gen 2 bipod and I love it. super easy to use and lightweight. if you're thinking about the recoil when there's game in front of you, you have other problems.
5:41.. in the exact same momment a comercial of the Duster car was running on tv with the words "and another one bites the dust.." well drives the duster...but still perfect :D
I have never seen a use for a 3 1/2 shell. Ever fired a 3" shell turkey load with max dram? They kick enough to kill a bird. I think a 2 3/4 shell with a 3 or 2 3/4 dram is enough to kill a bid with the right shot size, choke, and hunter ability.
Excuse the lack of knowledge, but why are you filling your turkeys with shot from a shot gun instead of using a simple .22 and head shotting the birds. I mean you can easily get a bird at 100yards with a .22, it just seems a bit of overkill when a smaller lighter calibre might have a similar effect but with less lead to pick out later.
tacobill70 Thanks for the clarification, its interesting that such a rule/law is in effect, but good to know that alternatives have been found. Happy Hunting.
So florida is not just excellent fishing but rather hunting too? Gosh i love this state. Just moved here a month ago and i can truly say im impressed
Welcome and vote for 2A
Yep, freshwater, saltwater and hunting.
Idk why I like watching this

It always amazes me how many people are ignorant to the sport of turkey hunting. Great video : )
Eve Harris unless you are a hunter why would anyone know about it!
Me too l like it. OK.
It's pretty simple actually, you hunt turkeys for sport.

YES! This is exactly what goes through my mind when people talk badly of hunting. I hunt and I don’t think of it as a sport, it’s a way of life.
Of course they eat it why not get a trophy to
as ive said before, buying grocery store meat is less humane than hunting is. The animals are abused in those factories and mass slaughtered suffering a slow death sometimes and purchasing it supports+expands it.

I'm curious. What were you waiting so long for to take that one shot? it doesn't look far at all..

Some of these people commenting know nothing about turkey hunting. It's not as easy as it looks.
In England we dont have wild turkeys, is there a difference in taste to a farm raised bird?
Yeah wild turkey taste is more nutritious couldn't tell you about the taste though
These turkeys became thanksgiving dinner
this is not hunting but inhumane in its purest form
Is he using slugs? If not what's the point in the sight and shooting sticks?
+srspower because he can
No because at that range it’s like your using slugs even w birdshot
Good idea

I'm thinking about getting a shooting stick for turkey hunting and would love to know your thoughts about them.

So if you're using a Stoeger 3500 are you actually using 3.5" cartridges? I'm looking at a 3000 because I'm thinking a 3" will be good enough.

I have never seen a use for a 3 1/2 shell.

Clearwaters the normal doctrine is to shoot for the neck and head, leaving the meat unharmed. Sometimes people miss lol
Gascan Glock OK I gotcha, keep on hunting them gobblers!
Wait was that smaller turkey a decoy?!😂😂
Yea
guys, they're hunting for delicacy, not just to kill.
