POST Audio: Dave Grover at Mystic Mountain Sound [THANKS DAVE!] ...The Wiki on Blue Sky: "Blue Sky" is a song by the American rock band the Allman Brothers Band from their third studio album, Eat a Peach (1972), released on Capricorn Records. The song was written and sung by guitarist Dickey Betts, who penned it about his girlfriend (and later wife), Sandy "Bluesky" Wabegijig.
I thought I'd never hear this again. His son does a Beautiful job. sounds just like his dad. Love it !!!
Holly Bischoff wow Duane looks so much like his dad did bck in Allman brothers days 👏🏻 lovit
I clicked cuz his dad's name was in the title, but it's Duane, what an awesome musician, just like his pa. The Allman Brothers were mesmerizing to watch
yes, holly ! very nice music ! wonderful allman style & tones ! duane shines and shines !
@@irishguyjg_2ndchancerecovery I think they had Dickey's name there because he wrote Blue Sky
@@raypevy7246 makes sense. Ty brother Ray
These young kids make an old man very happy. RIP Duane and Greg.
Devon and Duane so great together, hope they get their ABB project back together. Johnny Satchela is masterclass, killing it on his solo here.
Beautiful version of Blue Sky. RIP Dickey
That's real for Dickey to name his boy after his dear friend and one of the best human being known to man in this life time... Legendary for sure!!!!!😅
My eyes welled up during the dual leads and the close up of what has to be Dicky Betts Les Paul. These apples didn't fall far from the tree.
Mike M same here ❤️
Great to see the second generation comin´ up with a new chapter in the long history of melodic southern rock music !
Happy 75th Birthday Dickey Betts
They sound good - Duane would be proud
My favorite ABB song
I'm tearing up
I grew up listening to the Allman brothers, I love them now as much as I did in the 70s, thank God their music will live on. Great job. RIP Dwayne and Greg.
My all-time favorite song since the day it was released and I waited til 2005 and got see Dickey play it. Cripple Creek Colorado. Got chills now.
After the show I was Dickey's bodyguard for a few minutes getting him to the bus. The venue had biker security and since I was there and leathered up one of the guys said to me "Get his back". Never met the man but his guitar skills are beyond what many know. Keep it alive son.
I played Duane's gold G.L.P. one night in Sarasota Fl. in 84, he's very good and a spitting image of his dad.
Johnny is a badass!
Sounds great another generation of southern rock flows on. Memories never die!!!
Beautiful rendition. Hard to top Duane And Dickey, but these boys are a close second !!!! 💪🤝🤝👣👍
Wow, my soul is smiling.
I am a bit addicted to them. Just think I grew up in Macon and did not get hook until 2018. My sister and brother said man! We were always hooked. I did not know my dad listened to them. My brother told me whenever the Allman Bros. Came on the radio my dad would stop and listen.
I wish they had sanged more gospel music.
Tied to the whipping post!
What's sanged?
@@bobburroughs6241 Don't be an asshole.
That was great. Thanks for posting
I was there. Fantastic!
Out of sight fantastic !!!
Duane sounds just like his dad! Guitar playing first rate!
Looks like him, too!
Fabulous, absolutely fabulous period
Hope to see these two at knuckleheads in sept.
A Chip Off The Old Block !!! So Glad !!!!!!! Keep It Going !!!! Allman Bros Greatest Southern Rock Band Ever !!!
When young Duane started singing my hair stood straight up! I loved this song when these guys' fathers played it. Aw shit! Something's in my eye . .
same here, here truly is the next gen' of our childrens music, glad to have enjoyed the prior greats and originators of the sound though excited to follow on from here. thanks very much for posting.
This is so sweet
Yea man that brought me back. They did a great job
OMG, I certainly hit the wrong button cuz Blue Sky sends chills up my spine every time !
I used to play this song for my daughter when she was little and couldn't sleep , I'd just hold her and put this song on ...and by the time it got to ..." Good ole Sunday morning " ...she s be sound asleep
If you close your eyes it almost sounds like Duane and Dickey again. Great performance!
almost??
Nice! Very nice!! Very very nice!!!
Johnny Stachela is one hell of a guitar player.
Awesome riffs
He always has been, and guy can lay down some tunes.
Awsome😎
Suprised to see Devon Allman playing acoustic. Saw him last year and he was screaming on a hot ass Gibson.
Dicky done a great job raising Duane. ✌
Oh hell yes!Keeping that Ga sound ringing boys.Much love to Dickey...
They need more people. go back and see the difference
Great sound being from where the original song came from in Florida, Greg would be proud of them..
Good music! Sounds like dad’s voice.
Beautiful! Seems like he finally laid claim to being Duane Betts!
Wow! Makes My Soul Smile🎶🎤🎸🎶🎵😘🍄🍄
Close your eyes for a few minutes and it's like hearing the good old days of the Allman Brothers. Open your eyes and see the legacy passed down to their sons. My goodness alive, it's so good to hear this played like it should be by the only ones to really do it justice.
Nice to see them keeping this great music alive!
🔥This one was worth me burning up all of my mobil data on this morning 🤘
These guys keep improving - fun to watch !
Wow felt like was listening to the Allman Brothers Band live again. Great!
Sounds like dad Dickie Betts!❤️
FANTASTIC!!! The apple doesn't fall to far from the tree!!! Bravo!!!
Awesome! Gives me the chills, carrying on a family tradition ! Love it
Just Amazing! Saw him with his dad in New York Everytime they'd come🤟
Lovit. Let's do less phones and more dancing. Some of the best music around and it's a Tic Tock video.
Still one of the best tunes ever
awesome.... great job Casey !
mind blowing performance !
Looks and sounds just like his dad!
Outstanding!
Devon, Duane, and Johnny are incredibly awesome!
Thank God ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Play that gold top like his daddy did. It’s a beautiful thing.
Excellent job!! Sounds great!!
Awesome job !
how can 3,637 people hear this and only 68 of us like it
I think it is because a lot of people, me being one of them, watch UA-cam videos and don't even think to click on like. So, don't thionk this video is not liked. I am sure most of those 3,637 (now 7602) watchers do like this video.
Humans have so many foibles but they listen to music and feel something greater than they know how to relate back with gratitude down in their souls, oh yes it is there tho they miss the subtle shift in their minds. It's all good, let the dust fall as it will, under a blue sky gentle breeze.
Cause it sucks
What a sound 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thanks.
Damn that made my hair stand on end.
Great cover band
Better every time
It's like someone cloned them. Great to see this.
Really good!! Loved to hear it.!!
I’m so happy for these guys there so hot Stick together
They're pretty great!
Very very great I'm sorry it's great
Awesome.
NICE!, actually learned to play lead with that song, many years ago
Allmabrrothers music never dies great the kids still play ir
Very cool !!
😊👍
The new breed of all them brothers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Sons
This type of recording is not the best at capturing all the players but I can hear well enough to love it, and tell that the band is really playing nice and tight but also free and easy. So very glad they are carrying on the music is timeless and special, each generation should hear it!
Allman too!!
Great funky blue grass groovy vibe
Might be the best version I've ever heard other than the original on Eat a Peach!
Yeah, this really does have some fine moments.
yep,👍🏼
He sounds (and looks ) like his dad!
Sweet - i seen the interview with Dicky Betts on TV over the weekend.
This video just sold a ticket.
That is damn sporty real nice job
Nice job
i luv duanes warm fuzzy tone
This is excellent, if it wasn't on youtube. You would think it it was the Allman Brothers!Jim
Not quite Jim. But close enough.
nice
Dig it!
Duane Betts certainly channels both his father's vision and Duane Allman's slide work here. Saw Dickey play this maybe 20 years ago, 20 minute solo. Hot.
Devon's not lacking
I never film at concerts. I just try to be in the moment. Seems like such a detractor to enjoying the music. Be here now.
Yet, you are on UA-cam, watching video from someone who films at concerts...
These guys are at their best when they're playing at stotz!
Duane's pretty damn great
utube is great, but you really have to see these guys live to get the experience. they do a fantastic show! seen them a few times & waiting for their tour to head back this way (hint hint: come to Delaware!!) plus as you can see from my pic, they are very friendly & seem like genuinely nice guys, willing to pose w/fans---none of the snobbish rock-star mentality
Dickey Betts wrote 90% of the Allman Bro’s most memorable songs I suspect.
He wrote some greats on Brothers and Sisters but Gregg Allman wrote more than half of their music. I love Dicky; and without him the AB's would have been gone like the wind after Duane and Berry left us.
No.
Performs in Germany in August 2018
odd hearing it played on an SG ....always had that gold top tone or the red 335 ....still good no matter what .
That cat front row in the tie dye is getting his moneys worth
still no one can play it like dickey
Fantastic! Lots their fathers blood in those boys. Wish the guy running the board would have brought the vocals up a little more, but still an outstanding job 👍👍
Lol it's great we can just go around playing our dad's songs
Thank you!. A wonderful performance! I read. Justin Dean Corgan on bass. I miss Berry Duane Oakley. Whta happened with him? Is he no longer a member of the band? Kindest regards
